I had a 1969 15B in the UK from 1978-1985 and had it modified to have a tail wheel instead of the skid, which had been a horror at takeoff due to the offset tow hook. It had been a Netherlands World Championship 15m aircraft in 2 WC's
Loved you story, I am sure you day of fame will come. I once owned a ASW15B - ZKGKB with many fond memories. What she lacked in penetration, was made up with great thermalling in especially in weak conditions, delightful handling, and able to land almost any paddock.
They say that if you don't land out, you're not trying hard enough. But maybe if you land out all the time, you're trying too hard? In any event, your landouts looked quite successful. It's a good skill to have.
Haha; the title made me laugh out loud 😀!! Coming from paragliding competitions and just having made it to my SPL rating this summer, I can only advise on what I've experienced during paragliding competitions; keep on pushing in a safe way. All those outlandings are being hard wired in your brain and someday it will all come together and other pilots will wonder how this guy became so good 😉
I'm not at my best in competitive flying. I found to my surprise that it's usually possible for me to fly a better route without pre-declaring. Maybe you might try what I did. Evolve your own route each day after launching, going where the air is working best on the day, continually re-assessing your best route as you go along. Just a thought. Happy soarng! Very well chosen outlanding fields by the way.
I can relate! On my first silver C attempt I didn't get away after tow and landed back at the airstrip for another launch. The next launch I released and climbed to 10000ft and completed my silver C.
The quantity of outlandings don´t count if you are successfull and safe ;-) Off toppic: I´m interrested in the attachment of the canopy. Never seen this on any airfield …
Excellent choice of fields though. It looks like you would rather land out save, then pushing on. And that is not a bad attitude in gliding, if you ask me.
You are never a loser, when flying a glider :-)

I owned for more than 10 years s/n 15106 (not B) and still miss her, although now I fly an LS8-18 and a Discus b, which are two wonderful gliders

That is a GREAT way of looking at it though right!!!!!!!!! Well said brother. Coming from a Hang Glider Pilot. Only Hang 2 rated. No XC yet.

Time to buy a glider with a sustainer engine. you'll save a bundle on retrieval costs
I like your 2007 styling on this vid bro, lol.
Der schönste jemals gebaut....
....oké. ....ASW12B ....ASW17 und ASW22BLE sind auch schö
Do you think the problem is that weird time vortex thing that keeps following you around? Time vortexes can create a lot of sink. Probably.
I'm the type of person who would crash on their first flight
Haha! one day you will make it!
