Some days I wish the dark times never happened….I just wanna see anakin Padme with Luke Leia and uncle obi wan visiting once in awhile. But without the dark times we wouldn’t have gotten this epic story.
Oh the feels! Anakins story arc just keeps getting more, and more tragic. Obi-Wan's expression of his own personal failure, feeling like he not only failed Anakin, but Qui-Gon as well. SW has now shown the depths of the Jedi's melancholy in full. And the performance by Sir Alec Guinness was truly incredible, and not realized until now. How well he portrayed, and told a story decades before anyone knew of that backstory. He told it like he lived it.
Its very.... very... Tragic ....ik Anakin Skywalker could've overthrown the Emperor but.... yet he got controld by him and corrupted him into a sith.. Then he had to face his son and his son nearly killed him... But in the end he finally overthrown the Emperor..
I love the transition from Anakin’s voice to Vader’s when he says “You are beaten” when they’re training and Anakin chops at Obi Wan to bring him to his knees
Obi-Wan believed it was his fault for everything, with Anakin going to the Sith, and the Dark times starting. However, you can tell he never stopped believing that there was still good in him, that Anakin at some level remained inside. It’s truly tragic, yet beautiful to see, how in a way, Darth Vader gave Obi-Wan closure. Telling Obi, that he didn’t kill Anakin, Darth did. Brought water to my eyes. 🤧
I love the fact that Anakin in form of vader is still assuring obiwan that he was not a bad teacher, He didn't fail him "I'm not your failure obiwan , you didn't kill Anakin skywalker , i did" He was taking of f life long burden ... And look at the face of obiwan when he heard that thing he was happy and sad at the same time just look at the expression of ewan McGregor He was happy because he knew the fact that he didn't fail anakin but at the same time he was sad because he was thinking that anakin never paid attention to his training in the very first place. People are saying this is worst line of the show.. but you don't know how to interpret that thing like prequels
I'm sorry Anakin for all of it I don't know why but I love it I could just imagine how that would feel in real life and I know I sound like a goofball right now but I grew up on a Star Wars love that scene

What Vader is telling Obi Wan is that he is now the best version of himself and that is what he wanted to become. Vader is trying to hurt Obi-Wan but really what he did is help Obi-Wan separate what is and is not his responsibility. I think Obi-Wan leaves Vader alive because he has chosen to be free now and is letting Vader be free to be who he wants to be.
This actually made me tear up… the feelings in this scene are so well played. And when obi-wan started to tear up, i had to pause the video for a moment, excellent job on the edit! Keep up the good work!

Beautifully done. A lot of edits focus on how Obi wan was a great fighter or a good Jedi. But i think this is a great edit to show what he went through. The turmoil he felt. Vader freeing him was a good touch.

Just a simple Jedi has lost too much, and has been through too much, he lost his master and then lost his Apprentice and friend he had grew up with. Even though he is the hero that everybody knows about once they see his actual story they will see Obi Wan Kenobi.. different. It's eerily similar to real life isn't it? We all want the dark times to have never happened.. but life always finds a way and things happen that we had no control over, or someone we loved changed into something else. It's beautifully sad.
I absolutely love the backstory that George Lukas, and later, Disney, created for the origins of the Darth Vader character. Vader in the OG trilogy was terrifying and always larger than life, and I think most Star Wars fans thought that Vader was a robot, much like Count Dooko, until the moment he removed his helmet in front of his son, Luke Skywalker and died in ep. VI. The plot point that Star Wars' formidable, booming-voiced villain had once been a strikingly handsome, skilled and relatable young human male who had lost his mother and was trying to keep the love of his life, Padme, from also dying by embracing the power of the Dark Side of the Force makes that character all the more sympathetic. Any parent who has ever raised a teenage boy or college-age son (like ME!) can recognize the naive yet passionate ambition in statements that Anakin made before succumbing to his evil alter-ego Vader: "I'm not the Jedi I should be. I want more." "It's not fair!" "You underestimate my power." Padme: "I love you." Anakin: "Liar! You're with HIM!" Star Wars, with the Anakin backstory, expanded from being strickly the heroic exploits of Luke and Leia (and Han Solo, Rey and others) to the Tragedy of Darth Vader. Looking forward to future Star Wars projects...perhaps a 2nd season of Obi-Wan Kenobi.

I understand why ppl loved the ending to Kenobi but I personally didn't. I think it would have been better with him escaping and running away from Vader letting him think he had killed him there. It would have lined up much better with a new hope but this was such a great edit
The person Obi one was fighting was not Anakin but his shadow self which completely took over when Anakin out of pure desperation born from his crippling fear of losing Padma killed Mace windu in defense of palpatine who he believed was the only person that could help him save the love of his life. Once you cross over that line it's almost impossible to return to who you once were and the fact that Anakin was able to do so shows his light side was always stronger than the darkness within him.
In a way its never about killing obi wan kenobi. Its about being better than him. To surpass his master of "light" ...but he couldnt. Even when he should be capable of it.

I rather support the empire and the dark side, but the bond between Anakin and Obi-Wan is the best part of the prequels. And the only Jedi I like is Obi-Wan.
