Indeed. This is really the APEX of hip-hop and neo soul. J Dilla came and showed us the way to our SACRED ANCESTRAL TONES. Immense gift to share.

Dilla played no part in this song as far as i know ,James Poyser is a genius and he gets less credit .Poyser played the Harp, flute, Rhodes and the Oboe ,he actually produced the song Poyser that is .

Not Dilla, but you know everyone in the studio working on this joint had him in mind.

The production credits say The Soulquarians which he was a member of. So there’s a good chance he was in fact involved

I believe the reason why so many people say this track was produced by James "J-Dilla"/ "Dilla"/ "Jay Dee"/ "Pay Jay" Yancey because of the musical influence he had on this album and within the Soulquarians. The production credits for "Geto Heaven Part Two" are as follows: Performer(s) Common, D'Angelo | Producer(s) D'Angelo, Questlove, James Poyser *Contains replayed elements from "Ghetto Heaven" as performed by The Family Stand. Peace!!, LOVE! & Soooul!!

This is true street jazz....I'm diggin' this joint fo' real. These new producers NEED to take some serious notes and bring something that we olders katz, even the youngstaz, can listen to and actually enjoy instead of the stupid merry-go-round themed beats. Let's stop making tracks that sound like ass and bring back something that made hip-hop a classic style and symbol from the beginning.

Dilla is a genius, but there are other geniuses out there. Just because this sounds "dilla-ish" doesn't make it a Dilla beat. That's very disrespectful to the person who made the beat.

fam, idk about u but i would be fucking HONORED to be compared to dilla, but yo i get where u comin from seeing as if the actual producer wouldnt get any real acknowledgement for such amazing work

This album was primarily made by the Soulquarians which Dilla, Common and Questlove (who is drumming here) plus others were a part of. They basically structured their whole sound off how Dilla made his beats. That's why this album has so many songs that sound like they could've been produced by him. You can hear the drums being played like how Dilla programmed his to play which is why it gives that Dilla vibe since it's, what Questlove calls, a drunken style.
It's crazy how one guy could have that much of an effect on a whole group of CRAZY talented people and basically be the structure of the sound without him actually working directly on the songs.

Dilla did make this beat! Wtf

    • @hipmotion
      @hipmotion 7 років тому +7

@timurakalion nah man he's not credited. This was made by D'Angelo, Questlove, James Poyser who are also supremely talented musicians. Questlove spent years trying to replicate Dilla's style, which is kinda ironic because I've heard dilla say he was trying mimic the sound of Amir's drums. I guess Dilla wanted his sound and he wanted Dilla's rhythmn.

I think Dilla was a better producer for Com than Kanye but not by much. Both made classics for him. Dilla had a lil more development in his production at the point he worked with Comm. Kan was still on the rise even til this day he is evolving musically in a good way. Dilla was that Amadeus Mozart of production while we can say Kan was Johan Sebastian Bach. No complaints if i had to go to Kan for production as it would be a 4 star production guaranteed, Dipset found that out.

    mic check 1,2...
I got lows but you're my high
I take it slow like its night time
i want to get it right but on the first try
you say you got a man but i know that's a lie
Can't be the only who said they only tried
right, i want to paint you a picture
rolling down sunset, gold front sundress
you can be a good girl but you aint gotta front yet
I know i see the honesty when you tell me you a freak, girl.....
i want to be the only one to tie you down in them sheets, girl....
yea im so confident and you acknowledge it
i had to study your brain on some college shit
we read books and we talk about life
i told you once that you're gonna be my wife
that this is the only chance i got so i gotta make it right
so i gotta make it right man
so i gotta make it right man
so-i...so I gotta make it right man
    ....ghetto heaven
