Great tutorial. I do have a question though. I have went through this entire process and it turned out perfectly. But what if I wanted to change the gradient colors to another color scheme. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to do that. I tried but it put my gradient as linear even though I had radial selected.
Did you convert your first gradient in Smart Object? If you double click the layer, a new window will open and you will be able to change the gradient. After this, you can save the .psb file and it will change colors on the original project. I hope it helps 😊
I was going to do this in Illustrator but I found someone who did it better, lol. Watch it here if you’re still interested ua-cam.com/video/0TKt6xfA5NE/v-deo.html
Great idea and tutorial. Thank you. Quick question. After I stretch out the canvas and hit enter, my image remains white. Any thoughts on what I may be doing wrong? I have followed along several times exactly as you describe. I'm using a PC instead of a Mac. Thanks.
@@PrettyWebzMedia Thank you for your reply. I absolutely love this idea and played around with it a bit. My goal is to use for all-over-printing on garments, so the files are relatively large. I was able to make it work on all sizes up to 18x24 inches. For some reason, when I try to stretch the canvas to smooth out the corners on sizes greater than that, the artboard remains white. I tried both CMYK and RGB, as I like to create in CMYK and convert to RGB for printing purposes. It works in both modes, but I can't figure out the reason it stops working for me at larger sizes. I'm sure it's just me! :-) I sincerely appreciate your tutorial. So much fun!!
@@jmackimagery Same here! Mine is doing the same thing. I've tried everything, but mine stays white .... except I am using a very large canvas, and maybe it doesn't like that.
You can turn anything into a repeating pattern. I've never tried it with this, my guess is that you'll have a bunch of small swirls and will have to scale it if the project is too big. Make it as big as you can (without upsetting your computer) before creating the repeat.
@@linaasajohanna8599 I do custom content recolors and was wanting to do this effect with t shirts .... I have been meaning to do tutorials on how to do CC recolors .... hopefully soon
When you make the gradient, make sure you are in the gradient tool and have the colors set properly. For applying the gradient, click and *_hold_* the mouse while you drag. You have to hold the mouse click to apply the gradient
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I'm so happy that I could make a tie dye background 🥰
Wow! You explained everything very well. I was able to create my very own pattern. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Thank you. Best tie die tutorial in UA-cam!! Love all your tutorials.
Thank you 😊
Much appreciated!! You're going to get me a raise!
Nice! I’m glad the video was helpful
I just did a straight Color Dodge (by accident), and it was a bright burst of colors that I love! Thanks for another great video!
That’s great! Most of what I teach I learned by accident 😂 keep experimenting!

Check your color mode, make sure you are in RGB. Go to image>>mode>>RGB Color and 8bits/Channel
