Good drumming! I use the EAD and a Shure 91 kick mic with great results

I have a Yamaha custom birch kit. Everyone says my drums are tuned extremely well so I want to give this a try. I have an overhead mic, but the sound guys that I work with don't do a very good job all the time. Sometimes they don't turn my drums up in the mix loud enough, which is why I am scared to get the Yamaha ead10. I want to know if I can control the EAD10 on my own end without any interference on their part and be heard loud and clear in the mix regardless of how loud they have me turned up themselves?

The sound guy has control no matter what your using, but yes you have volume control on the unit. It’s basically a mixer with 2 condenser mics

Sounds really good!! Have your feedback issues as some have described? How do you feel about the EAD10 compared to mics?

    • @bshubo

thanks! i do not experience any feedback issues- if that's what you mean. setting the gain is crucial, but fairly straight forward. this is so much more convenient than me having to set up multiple mics/cables/etc. for a live gig. - and it sounds good plus you have all the trigger/effect options. it's also an incredible practice tool- put on some headphones, sounds like you're in the studio, turn on the built in click or play along to tracks w/ the rec n share app

@@bshubo Awesome! Thanks for the info. I keep reading mixed reviews as far as using it live and how some people get feedback when using live but it looks like you gig with it often and yes it seems like it would be WAY easier than dealing with mics, cables, etc. Using it as a practice tool sounds great! Thanks again for the info!

@@bshubo I'm curious, do you find you have to adjust your gain setting from room to room, or have you found a setting that works across the board? Great demos, btw. I have yet to try mine in a gig setting, but hope to as soon as things open up more.

@@drumtravelfun thanks! I try to play consistently so the room doesn’t effect the amount of gain. Let the mic do the work. I rarely need to change the gain settings. Maybe just a little tweaking.

    Hi Bobby.
    Awesome drumming.
I used the Ead 10 for my 1st live gig last night at an Irish Wedding.
Fast set up, 2 min sound check then play...
Quick question... My next gig is s corporate tomorrow night.
How do I control my in ear headphone level, (from headphone out), without affecting my output volume to front of house.
I'm sending mono out to desk.
    Thanks.

thanks- sorry i didn't see this earlier- what did you end up doing? in the manual it shows how you can assign master to headphone only and set output constant- or maybe use a small 2 channel mixer and split signal.

thanks! i just play each drum and adjust the mic and trigger sensitivity to get a nice signal - not too hot and not too weak - i set up the unit at home and set it as opposed to doing it at the gig. this way i can play around with it. i try to replicate my playing volume/intersity at home

How do you send the signal to the sound board or to the front of the house? Like what cords? What output? Does it go to a channel on the board?

    • @bshubo
      @bshubo  10 місяців тому

I can give 1/4" cables - left and right back of the EAD10 have 1/4" outs - you can also just send 1 cable and it would be mono- most sound boards have 1/4" line in- like plugging in a guitar cable

i like the studio reverb setting. i set between 12 & 3 o'clock and let the sound engineer control on their end
