Hi Valerie, I add your reaction video to Og3ene and EW&F in lifting up my spirit. Thanks! Lovely to see the young girl shining in the woman when enjoying sweet memories and music. ❤ Hope you do many more!
LATEST OG3NE NEWS ( Oct. 15th) Dolly Parton has OG3NE sisters in her sights. The country singer, who reviews different covers of her own songs in a UA-cam video on the channel of Glamour, is full of praise about the Jolene cover of the Dutch girls group. “ What a beautiful sound, and what beautiful harmonies,” says Dolly, listening to Amy, Shelley and Lisa. In their cover of Dollys megahit, the sisters change the word Jolene for OG3NE. Thats what the 74-year-old singer thinks is pretty cool. “OG3NE, thats a good name! I always sing Jolene myself when I get coffee.” Shelley: “ I really didnt expect this. Its always very unnerving to cover someones song, because you always have to hope its honorable and that someone likes it.” Her sister Lisa agrees with her. “You want to do the song right. But this is more than we could hope for.”
I love them so much....in The Beste Zangers , they sing a song 'Sing' from Ed Sheeran, but in a special way. They call it 'Echoïng', Also welkown as "Counting on Melody'........I am sure, you 'll love it. In another special youtube version, they explain how they did learn the technique by themselves in their youth. By the way....the Beste Zangers 2020 did start yesterday with Milow in the hotseat, with many English songs
This is by far my favorite medley they made, and yes.. i too am biased because i always had a great love for Earth Wind and Fire. But how the sisters do it, its astonishing as if these were their songs, if you never had heard of EWaF and was told this was their music, you'd easily believe it. The band.. omg how good are they, i always had a mega soft spot for horn sections, partly due to the music of the 60's and 70's i grew up with but mostly because of a, for me, life changing movie. That movie was "The Blues Brothers" and i must have seen it 8 or 9 times in the cinema at that time, i was 9 years old and it opened my eyes to "bigger music" and i fell is love with, you guessed it.. the horn section of the band. This is why "Blue" Lou Marini will always be my Saxophone hero and wherever his face pops up (a lot more often that you might think) i always feel happy seeing him be part of the music as always. Anyway, 0g3ne.. they are amazingly talented and deserve a much bigger stage than just our little country, these girls are world class. And not related to any i just said but... how much joy can someone have singing? just look at them, they are having a blast doing this :D Thnx for the upload Valerie, always love seeing you geek out a little when you watch the girls perform.
This medley was actually part of their setlist for their most recent tour before COVID. Furthermore the musos in this clip (other than the percussionist) were their tour band for said tour (and the brass sections little choreography as well) so there would've been a great deal of familiarity to start with. Not taking anything away, everyone still has to 'bring it' and they certainly did !!
Horn-based pop-bands are great. Most of them infused some jazz undertones like with EW&F, Ides of March, Chicago, and BS&T. Always a pleasure to hear their songs played.
Thank you Valerie for another Great reaction! The girls recently released live solo performances from their "Three Times A Lady Tour". It would be interesting to hear your opinion of those. I've listed the links below. Amy - Casualty of Love (Jessie J cover) ua-cam.com/video/-lh_b_69Npw/v-deo.html Lisa - When We Were Young (Adele cover) ua-cam.com/video/sgVW96cypqM/v-deo.html Shelly - Colors of the Wind (Disney's Pocahontas Theme) ua-cam.com/video/z6evDZmQKm8/v-deo.html
The home isolation performances of OG3NE was one (and maybe the only thing) the best things during this pandamic. Just before the starrt of the pandamic there was a concert "de vrienden van Amstel live. At the end of the concert there were two bands Kensington and Direct, the did together a compilation of old songs (covers) you should see this. It was a fest of memories. ua-cam.com/video/yFv2TPZag5w/v-deo.html

Hi the band REO BROTHERS had a cover of Barbara ann and Surfin' USA and its so fun to watch can u please watch and react to them and see what are your thoughts?new sub here...
Sorry about that but I think the band deserves all the credits. The voices are just ok, like a amateur karaoke reunion, didn’t hit. A lot of common places. Singing on pitch (come on!) is mandatory. On other hand the band delivered in the pocket
Girl! You should have at least one million subscribers, your comments are just on point!
Wow, thank you!
I’m glad you’re watching all these medleys they did months ago. They were just spectacular!
They were the Mightiest Elements of the Universe!! The GOAT!! Maurice and Phillip did ALL the vocals on their recording tracks.

I'm a huge fan for sure. I think this is a favorite for the same reasons as you. And I remember the Blues Brother's movies.
