Justin... they aren't supposed to be "really good at it", it's called a "reaction", not "acting out a reaction". And the fact that you think Tradechat is better when she is NOT crying shows you're not only socially awkward, but you don't understand that people don't feel the same way you do about things. Did I miss anything?
when i was new to reaction videos I thought that as well. yeah, why would someone want to watch someone watch something? even now I'm still not certain why I watch reaction videos but I do(kinda addicted to them nowadays.. help) and just don't think too much about it.
She lost everything but she still held it together. She then worked through the problems one at a time. Then she walked home at the end. She knew what she was getting into. but Mei has a heart of strength that I don't often see.
You just earned a subscriber. Oh my gosh what a genuine reaction that was. I was just watching the animated short before this but I STILL got emotional with you! :(
They were supposed to be rescued, I'm sure, but Overwatch disbanded, the leaders were thought dead, and in the chaos, I guess everyone forgot about Mei and her team. The worst part is that I don't think anything big happened to make the pods all fail at once. They probably just malfunctioned and stopped working one by one over the years. It was luck more than anything that Mei's was the last to go, and Winston's message woke her up before hers failed. Also can't be sure, but there are probably more research bases on Antarctica, like there are now in real life. Mei likely just walked to one of those. Still a horribly harsh journey.
I hate how people think it is bad to show your emotions. Even if it is animated, didn't you cry when your favorite anime character died a horrible death? It's basic human feeling. So stop picking on her for it.
i dont think more or less of anyone for showing emotion, or not showing emotion. it just is. some people are more prone to showing or taking it inward than others. for example, generally, i tend to be hard to make sad. the last time i REALLY was affected alot was when we had to put my first dog down(we had had him since i was four or five), and he went, in a span of under 48 hours, from doing fine, chasing the squirrels around the yard, to dead.

It's amazing how more emotional they go with shorts, Dragons, Alive, Soldier 76, Bastion, and now Mei short have a lot of hearthbreaking parts. Thanks for this video.

I have so much respect for you after seeing your video. That short was so sad, and for you to just let out your emotions like that for the whole internet to see... I could never bring myself to do something like that. I love emotional things and you just made the experience like 10 times sadder. Houston what if she hadn't left the sensors on? Come to think of it. She had the solar panels to charge Snowball but couldn't top up the base's battery banks?
You have to think the batteries werent out yet when she left the chamber (therefor the sensors didnt kill them i think the duration of them being in it did) and the solar panels thing in that moment when everything is going wrong for her I doubt shed think of that solution off the top of her head since she was being rushed due to the time crunch of the power, all just thought and opinion of course
Maybe for the location the Solar Panels couldnt work well enough, the things start to charge Snowball when she is quite far a way, in the base there seems to be enough mountain and fog to make the Solar Panels be kinda useless i think... dont know xD
I just realized Mei is married HER HUSBAND WAS IN ONE OF THOSE CHAMBERS!! :this comment came from a theory I found, after watching this I thought about it
Its never stated that her Husband was part of the team, though in some parts it does focus on a certain member of the team, with zooms and lighting. So you can assume it might be him, but there is no actual "real" proof.
Props to Blizz for making a bunch of people cry, like as sad as is it is, it was done well enough to bring people to tears. PS, you seem pretty great and I'm glad this came into my recommendations :)
Jouki Not sure what video you watched, but she clearly sat there for quite a while mourning the loss of her colleagues, and didn't show any level of happiness until the hope of others knowing she's still there. Once she has that hope, she realizes wallowing in her sadness won't help anyone now and tries to move on, then once Snowball sacrifices himself to help her, she's sad again, and pushes on, not letting the sacrifice go to waste. At some point you can't let your emotions drag you down, or you'll only cause your own death as well.
Aw, you big softie! I had watched the short already and a couple of other reactions to it. I teared up a little bit for them. Watching your reaction, YOU made me cry! lol Well, now we know you REALLY love Mei. :)
Well, OW's AI isn't necessarily Three Laws-compliant. The Omnic Crisis is case in point there, as are the later Null Sector uprising(s) and the ongoing crises in Russia and Korea. If anything, the fact that AI in Overwatch has apparently evolved beyond being bound by Aasimov's Three Laws makes characters like Bastion, Athena, Snowball, and Zenyatta more important and effective as characters; even for a basic, nonverbal AI like Bastion or Snowball, they're apparently able to act on their own free will, even overriding existing coding/programming through force of will, and choose to help people (or in Snowball's case, act as a research assistant/combat buddy). So, yeah. Three Laws of Robotics doesn't necessarily apply here, and that makes it all the more meaningful that he sacrificed his power supply to give Mei a little bit longer to hold out.
Seeing your reaction video took this to a whole new level since I kinda felt sad for both Mei and you. It's always nice to see genuine emotions as well as feel them through empathy. To feel alive.
It's good animation, but I think it proves the strenght of humanity to still keep fighting even when we are faced with the worst options. And Mei tend to shine in the whole aspect of being the best of what a human can be and keep figthing so she can help others with the information at hand. Even if she has to sacrifice herself.
You people in the comments getting all mean and stuff about how she's crying. It's the way certain animations work. Like Up and Wall.E by Pixar. The mix of story and music are made to make you feel a certain way and make you empathize with the characters. It's supposed to evoke feelings. Your mind doesn't always perceive fiction as fiction and may view it as reality, which makes you react like you're actually watching this in real life. If you don't cry to it, you're probably more able to differentiate between reality and fiction. If you cry, then it's also a normal reaction. Nothing wrong with either reaction.
even though i saw the short, i knew watching your vid and you cry would end up making me cry... i think it was still worth it because this was such a good short (even if it was really sad)
I just played in the PTR map and there's a hand-drawn map from Mei that shows like a tower or something from the base, presumably where you'd get off the continent. There's also a bunch of cute notes about how much food is left and random drawings like a yeti and Winston.
You're so cute Like the way you show your honest emotions & not hide them & how you got so emotional over this animated short I find that very cute Oh I also loved your hair colours they're awesome 💜💞 **Liked & Subscribed**
more like: like the way you always cry to draw peoples attention. but i bet everyone will start kicking me and saying: no, when girl cries its so cute and feminine, you f..ing hater. omg i hate those reaction videos so much, people are not putting any effort to make a video, just watch someone esle and react(and cry for better effect). PROFIT $$$
Look idk if her reaction was real or not but imo and my experience with this cinematic trailer, it just wasn't that sad for me... Until she served tea/coffee or whatever to her dead friends/teammates... that simple moment made me tear up out of goddamn nowhere, looking back at this trailer I realized its actually really sad, sure it was a bit cliche and most of us knew her back story already but just think about it, she griefs for her friends and realizes that she's only got two options, and the only best option is extremely risky but can potentially save a lot of people and most importantly for her (imo) her friends deaths wont be for nothing, she's got this huge responsibility right after waking up! And it doesn't stop there, snow ball sacrifices itself on a slim chance of meis plan actually working, if she would have failed, snow ball would be powerless and there will be no other way to charge it back, meaning she might feel responsible for its "death" if she didn't make it in time, hell she probably thinks it's her fault that her friends died too she quickly needed to make a portable solar charger for snow ball and get winstons message on time before the power goes of again Going back to mei serving drinks to her dead friends, it made me realize that specific moment symbolize meis respect and love for her team but it also shows her acceptance of what just happened to her and acknowledges what her next step is despite the obvious dangerous obstacles that lay right in front of her, it's a simple moment yet effective and meaningful Sorry if this was a long read and I over analyze this but when I got tears running down my cheeks to this trailer I was shook af, I honestly didn't like the fact the mei got a trailer because we already knew her backstory but man I'll take that back, as always blizzard did an amazing job, again in my opinion lol
(Luis Huerta) You miss, are a very observant and empathetic human being... I agree completely and even though I didn't cry, it is by far the darkest trailer and most emotional. Good job pointing the emotional stuff out. Mei was my personal favorite anyway. I applaud you. Texts and comments aren't long if you respect what you're reading.
Wait... Since the tanks malfunction... Does that mean that the crew members awoke?? Does that mean they slowly died because they couldnt get out of the tanks???
Mei leaving on the sensors slowly drained the batteries until meis life pod was the only pod to be sustained by the remaining power left in the facility. mei is lucky enough to be alive that winston sent the emergency signal that woke the computers up. it's mei's selfishness for wanting to help the world in such a way that leaving the sensors on that lead to her friend's death.
ChallengerDrakava actually sensors won't really take up to much battery.... ...now In a very kind way.... can you please stop saying this is Mei's fault... please.....just cry already! *sobs* Edit: Oh also how is wanting to help the world selfish that totally breaks the definition of selfish.
Considering they were meant to wake up after a few weeks as opposed to years. I can't really see how this is Mei's fault. I doubt she did that secretly without telling anyone. From the expectations they had it was a reasonable course of action aquiring weeks of data even IF it had something to do with the others diing, which I doubt. Very likely the fault a computer error.
I had the same reactions you did when I first watched this. I know it's trendy to make fun of Mei and call her a demon, but I'm not gonna jump on the band wagon; instead I'm going to say that Mei is a true hero. Despite the darkness of her character's origins her personality is upbeat, trying hard not to let the pain keep her from doing good. I have respect for Mei and I believe your reaction is proper and genuine.
@TradeChat She killed her friends... When she left the data on for 9 yrs the battery was only 1 left and as you can see it only had power for one cryogenic suit.. She caused her friends death! Spoiler Alert! Sorry this made me ball when I found out she caused it!!
Can you guys stop fighting about crying about it and not crying about it? Some people think its sad, some people think its cute, and some people think other stuff. Get over it! People are going to think different things about it and there's nothing you can do about it, so stop going to comments you disagree with and starting d fights or telling people to go kill themselves! Its immature and just plain rude.
Oh, man...there's all kinds of neat stuff in Antarctica to research! That's why Antarctica has science stations all over. There's climatology (like walkingdeadman19 said), there's biology (and all the Antarctic Circle's freaky life forms), there's geology (including seismology and volcanology, courtesy of Mount Erebus and Mount Terror)...hell, the scientists at Vostok Station drilled through _two miles_ of solid ice to find Antarctica's land mass _and_ Lake Vostok, and they found _microbes_ living in Lake Vostok's water. Apparently the surface of Lake Vostok rises and bulges (instead of lying flat like water normally does) due to extreme atmospheric pressure at that depth. It's pretty fascinating stuff. That's why "Visit Antarctica" is on my bucket list: It's a hell of a place. You know how you have those mountain climbers who try to do the hat trick of climbing the highest mountain on each of the seven continents? The highest peak in Antarctica is Mount Erebus. Mount Erebus is a _volcano,_ and it's still active. So these crazy bastards have to go to hellishly cold Antarctica and climb a goddamned _active volcano_ if they want to join the Coolest Most Awesome Mountaineers Club! Is that crazy or what? Antarctica's a pretty insane continent overall, I think. :-)

I'm man enough to admit it made me cry
You people in the comments getting all mean and stuff about how she's crying. It's the way certain animations work. Like Up and Wall.E by Pixar. The mix of story and music are made to make you feel a certain way and make you empathize with the characters. It's supposed to evoke feelings. Your mind doesn't always perceive fiction as fiction and may view it as reality, which makes you react like you're actually watching this in real life. If you don't cry to it, you're probably more able to differentiate between reality and fiction. If you cry, then it's also a normal reaction. Nothing wrong with either reaction.
Your genuine, heart-felt reaction made a follower of me. Keep going and stay strong :3
even though i saw the short, i knew watching your vid and you cry would end up making me cry...
i think it was still worth it because this was such a good short (even if it was really sad)
I cannot express how much I love that hair!
❤️❤️❤️
A military salute from me to the tears of harmony of humanitarians.
I'm a Mei main now
saaaaaame
Yeppers, those ice shards are pretty deadly with aim! Now to decide what skin to use Beekeeper or Mei-rry!
Joseph Abeyta I will never main that satan spawn
Been one... Get on my level lol... Its just a joke
Ughhh fake mei mains. Main since closed beta, true mei fans unite.
All my respects and kudos to her, I have never seen someone empathize with Mei as much as she does.
I just played in the PTR map and there's a hand-drawn map from Mei that shows like a tower or something from the base, presumably where you'd get off the continent.
There's also a bunch of cute notes about how much food is left and random drawings like a yeti and Winston.
You're so cute
Like the way you show your honest emotions & not hide them & how you got so emotional over this animated short I find that very cute
Oh I also loved your hair colours they're awesome 💜💞 **Liked & Subscribed**
more like: like the way you always cry to draw peoples attention. but i bet everyone will start kicking me and saying: no, when girl cries its so cute and feminine, you f..ing hater. omg i hate those reaction videos so much, people are not putting any effort to make a video, just watch someone esle and react(and cry for better effect). PROFIT $$$
If Winston never made the call the last battery would have die and mei with it 😢😢😢😭😭😭
So you're saying Winston saved Mei life?
I think that's more the fact that the pod opened up, and Mei having read the message at the time.
@@darkapostle1749 Her tank only activated after receiving the message from Winston.
Dude this is so sad but so good
creeperbomb432 don't let her appiriance fool you shes still an evil ice queen
WTF
creeperbomb432 ikr
Panzer is a very emotional girl and very cute. Really interesting to see your reactions. I love you))
John Cole it would be interesting if she wasn't clearly milking it for attention
Marcus Huntsinger I kinda wonder if she tears up this much during TV commercials.
Man they make the music go along so well which made the emotions even more powerful. I died laughing when the robot sacrificed his energy.
Aww....i love your hair and i love how you emotionally got invested in Mei's story. So sweet.
I was okayish through most of it, but the "farewell" with the mugs part cracked me
I hate Mei, but i love her so much. Damn you, Blizzard! Stop playing with my feelings!
And it doesn't stop there, snow ball sacrifices itself on a slim chance of meis plan actually working, if she would have failed, snow ball would be powerless and there will be no other way to charge it back, meaning she might feel responsible for its "death" if she didn't make it in time, hell she probably thinks it's her fault that her friends died too
she quickly needed to make a portable solar charger for snow ball and get winstons message on time before the power goes of again
Going back to mei serving drinks to her dead friends, it made me realize that specific moment symbolize meis respect and love for her team but it also shows her acceptance of what just happened to her and acknowledges what her next step is despite the obvious dangerous obstacles that lay right in front of her, it's a simple moment yet effective and meaningful
Sorry if this was a long read and I over analyze this but when I got tears running down my cheeks to this trailer I was shook af, I honestly didn't like the fact the mei got a trailer because we already knew her backstory but man I'll take that back, as always blizzard did an amazing job, again in my opinion lol
(Luis Huerta) You miss, are a very observant and empathetic human being... I agree completely and even though I didn't cry, it is by far the darkest trailer and most emotional. Good job pointing the emotional stuff out. Mei was my personal favorite anyway. I applaud you. Texts and comments aren't long if you respect what you're reading.
i guess she's just really easy to cry.
Bryce Dets hmmm
Nah
Luis Huerta Here's a way to describe it into a simple sentence:
It was sad as all hell.
Luis Huerta dude you have a lot of time to write this comment
the face u made when the tower exploded was the funniest thing! nice vid!
Thanks for the tears was afraid I was the ONLY ONE WHO CRIES LIKE THAT. Well done and look forward for Chats.
Wait... Since the tanks malfunction... Does that mean that the crew members awoke?? Does that mean they slowly died because they couldnt get out of the tanks???
TheRager Gamer HOLY CRAP THAT’S HORRIFYING
Wait a sec... now that could make up a great horrorfilm🤔 let's inform Stephen King
Oh shit
No, pretty sure that they malfunctioned so it didn't keep them alive. Like the life support failed so they basically died in their sleep
I also cried my eyeballs out when i saw it
valeska But then when you actually verse Mei, you won’t have those same feelings.
That animation did me buy a Golden weapon for mei..,😍 i Love mei
I've seen this short a few times with no emotional breakdown, but your reaction started to make me cry.
winston saved her life by waking her up with the emergency broadcast...
Mei is a better female role model than anything Hollywood has come up with lately.
call me a shitty person but i laughed when she was crying
@@xavierquiles3037 Why are you replying to a 3 year old comment lmao chill
Mei leaving on the sensors slowly drained the batteries until meis life pod was the only pod to be sustained by the remaining power left in the facility. mei is lucky enough to be alive that winston sent the emergency signal that woke the computers up. it's mei's selfishness for wanting to help the world in such a way that leaving the sensors on that lead to her friend's death.
ChallengerDrakava actually sensors won't really take up to much battery.... ...now In a very kind way....
can you please stop saying this is Mei's fault... please.....just cry already! *sobs*
Edit: Oh also how is wanting to help the world selfish that totally breaks the definition of selfish.
It wasn't her fault she was forced to Hybernate
Honestly I can see the potential you'll be a great comedic actress in a few years! Had me laughing a lot! :)
Antarctica is the south pole not the north pole...
@TradeChat She killed her friends... When she left the data on for 9 yrs the battery was only 1 left and as you can see it only had power for one cryogenic suit.. She caused her friends death! Spoiler Alert! Sorry this made me ball when I found out she caused it!!
DragonProGamer 730 That's why she blames herself.
DragonProGamer 730 woman ok then
No she left the data on, but thought that Overwatch would come and wake them up and they would have the data they wanted and more power
Can you guys stop fighting about crying about it and not crying about it? Some people think its sad, some people think its cute, and some people think other stuff. Get over it! People are going to think different things about it and there's nothing you can do about it, so stop going to comments you disagree with and starting d
fights or telling people to go kill themselves! Its immature and just plain rude.
They're 100% playing it up for the camera tho
Probably my favorite Overwatch cinematic and the only one to make me cry. How does Blizzard always pack so much emotion into 10 minutes of video?
I loved how you got so really emotioned with this video
SNOWBALL 2020!!!
Can we get this snowsuit skin
And what exactly did they research and die for ?
Climatic anomalies.
A way to make ice cubes last longer
I've seen this short like 17 times now, and I still got shivers down my spine when she looked in the cryo chamber.
that's practically soul crushing to think about being in a situation like that waking up from cryo sleep and being the only one alive.
