    The biggest thing I’ve learned over the 10 years I’ve been going to festivals is when you first get there, find what direction is east. Place your canopy between your tent and the east where the sun will rise, try and align it so the sun will hit the canopy top before hitting your tent. Or even pro move just put a canopy over your tent and get 2 canopy walls to block off the sun and another side. You get an extra 2-4 hours of restful sleep in the shade, which even an extra 2 hours at a festival can be a life changer.

      My tip is to wear a Mindfold total darkness sleeping mask and ear plugs when i sleep at festivals. I can sleep all day under a lamp next to the main stage if i want.

    After 7 years of festival experience I have some thing to add. Zipper is nice but a swiss army knife is best for camping. Use a Green Bin or/with a Duffle Bag for transporting. Both protect you're stuff from getting wet. Look what the weather is going to be and then decide whether you need the tent cord. If you don't need them, don't use them or use as few as possible because some drunk person will fall over it and probably destroy half of the tent. Powerbank and a Cooling Box are also life safers. If you have the space a camping table is nice to have. Some earplug are also huge if you have loud neighbours or if you're near a Stage/Party Tent. Try to avoid camping close to the camping streets because of the higher risk of getting robbed while nobody is at the place and if it's raining you're place will turn into a mud fest. Mounting some kind of neutral flag on a Pavillion helps finding you're place fast. Last if you have a friend which always gets too drunk and gets lost just write Friend with you're Number on his/her arm.

      Wow thank you so much for all your advice! I agree with the tent cord. I can’t even count how many times I’ve tripped on those things and I’ve seen other people trip on them. Do you recommend anything to use in replacement? I like to use them every time because it creates a little bit of shade inside the tent

      @@CenteredFlow hey if you have the extendable cords just adjust the cord until its only like 6" away from the tent. If they aren't adjustable just tie a not further down the line so that your spikes are very close to the tent

      @@CenteredFlow Tie reflective tape around cords. I like flat solar lights also. They’re cheap so if stepped on no biggie.

    Wet wipes/baby wipes. I'll never go to a festival without them. So nice to clean your feet off or whatever after a night of partying

    • @CenteredFlow
      @CenteredFlow  2 роки тому +2

      Yes very true! I usually just use a wet paper towel because I never use the whole pack of baby wipes then it just dries out by my next camping fest 😭

      Adult size washcloth disposable wipes are best. I like the Yardley brand. They are large and sturdy enough for a full body “bath”.

      @@seftonwalker3978 You’re a little young to have responsibility for bathing an elderly parent but that’s where I became acquainted with them. I’m in my 70s and have been going to festivals since the late 60s. I’m meeting my daughter and granddaughter in N Fl for an upcoming festival in Oct at Spirit of Swaunee Music Park. I go alone if I can’t get a companion. I love all music and festival atmosphere. Just remember when you see the old lady with grey hair that’s she’s a kindred spirit.❤️

      @lorihamlin3604 haha i love this :) I live in canada and only can go to canadian festivals for now. I love talking with the older folks at festivals, they always have the best insight and amazing spirits. I always listen and let them talk as much as they want or need. It's so important to listen. Enjoy your upcoming festival. And solo sometimes Is the way to go.

    I have a festival coming up in 6 days and last year when I went, I was very unprepared, but now I have a duffel bag full of necessary things and some more luxurious stuff like super hardcore power banks, a first aid kit, detergent for washing my clothes in one of those camping washing machines that are like a lil drum with a handle. So I'm definitely ready this time. Also the fan was a great idea, last year, 6am, sweaty to my balls im the tent with no ventilation, and now with the fan I can cool off after waking up. Thanks for the cool video you're awesome!

    • @CenteredFlow
      @CenteredFlow  2 роки тому

      Omg you have to tell me how it goes with that washing machine! I can think of so many times that could come in handy at a camping fest

    Good video, thanks. I’m an avid backpacker and most of my gear leans towards the lighter side of things and usually spending the night 10’s of miles from the nearest “anything”.
    Going to an event in two weeks, camping in a festival setting with some physical competitions during the day.
    Thanks for the ideas about staying comfy and being able to rest and recover during my down time. 👍

    I have that same pop up tent. Theres a trick to getting it in the bag. Fold it in half and kind of tuck the sides in. There is a picture inside the bag. It needs to make three loops to fit in the bag.
    It took me like 2 years to figure this out but now I can fold them up in like a minute.

    For me an inflatable air mattress is essential to ensure a good rest. I use Nemo Tensor Long Wide. It's expensive and I'm always a bit nervous it might get stolen, but to survive a week long festival I need my 8 hours.

    Kept your clothes and sleeping bag in a big trash bag if it rains it won’t get wet. Even if your tent is wet on the inside, wet clothes and a wet sleeping bag is way worse.
