You got this 💪🏻 I'm planning on hosting a free investing webinar soon (November or December) and I want to make it a series...so if there is anything that would be helpful to learn, please let me know!
Keep going buddy I started at 41... was in 7K debt and living in my overdraft. I'm now debt free have a 15K emergency fund. 20K saving pot and just surpassed ~$115K in my portfolio. Diversification is key... I am almost 43 now
Don't feel behind. Just add a bit more to a good retirement fund making greater than 10% annually. Between your inputs, 15% to 20% of your income, and a company match, you can hit 7 figures in 25 years. I did it in 15 so it's not impossible. It just requires you to put away, live a frugal life style and be able to take care of your assets, house and car(s). Maintenance on those two will suck your $$$ away. Good luck.
I lost a lot chasing individual stocks and I feel pretty silly for not understanding how investing works. I have a double major in economics but I’ve been trying to make sense of the market. Well done on profits!
Great advice here. Keep it simple, buy things you understand, take some risk but don't try to shoot the lights out. I’m invested in ETFs, REITs, and individual stocks and use a CFA. On average, she takes 10% of earnings, but using *Lina Dineikiene's* system allows for a more hands-off approach. I conservatively follow her recommendations and market entry and exit points, and tbh this makes it fairly simple for me... I am convinced it's not just hard work but smart work:-)
This was great. It has taken me a while to get to the point where I want to be wealthy. I've never really wanted that before because of childhood stuff I've had to work through but yesss girl, let's be wealthy. And rich too ;)
I’m with you. I wanna be wealthy and rich. I’m not the type who likes to show off but I want to buy groceries without worry, I want to go on vacation every year and live where I want to live not just where I can afford to. I’m comfortable now and I don’t need to be a millionaire in the future, I just want to be happy, comfortable, and secure
I live extremely frugal with a great salary, and that constantly bugs my friends. They always tell me I can afford more. However, I'm primarily happy precisely because I'm frugal, I don't want much, and I've learned to focus on those few things that make me ultimately happy, such as travel, hiking, and space flight related adventures. I'd rather have the latter with a smaller salary than all the best stuff and constantly stressed. The peace of mind a frugal lifestyle provides is absolutely priceless to me.
As a 60 YO mom, I agree that parents should not assume their kids will be their fallback. However, it’s always important to understand the various dynamics that have led to a situation like that. I truly believe that people are always doing the very best that they can under the circumstances. I didn’t fully appreciate my mother‘s circumstances until I was in my 50s. I am so grateful for the insight I gained in the last several years of her life. We became so much closer than I thought we could ever be. It’s such a great comfort now. Hopefully your fears about their reliance on you and your sister will prove to be unfounded, but if it does happen I’m sure you’ll handle it with grace. There is so much abundance in this world. Money certainly helps and there are lots of other factors to consider as well. I appreciate your thoughtful perspective.
I also completely agree with you. I too want to be rich and wealthy and have been working towards that for about a decade. After finally starting to earn more I can definitely say that money solves a lot of problems. And it's something I'll also see need to care for my mom as she gets older and has little to nothing in retirement. I would love to travel to watch my favorite ballet companies, create a scholarship for non traditional STEM students at my alma mater, and donate to arts organizations.
Mid 30s and I want to be rich now as well. I'm having a really hard time trying to enjoy the journey and not the destination... Constantly trying to balance future vs current me and not be EXTREMELY frugal. I've been enjoying seeing your progress!
It would be so interesting to be able to adopt a care-free mentality with spending money. Talk about a complete liberation from the shackles of self-limitations! However, just for the sake of argument, could we infer that being able to spend money without a moment of consideration could potentially be a slippery slope? To elaborate; right now we are conscious of our finances in how they stand presently, and what impact any costs may have on them. This forces us to learn and make educated decisions/choices on how to proceed with our spending. If we eliminate that variable of financial consciousness (i.e spending at will), is there a chance we could then cross over a threshold into making less educated decisions that could have a negative impact on our wealth? Gluttony, to put it simply. Thanks for the insight and your thoughts! Very cool of you to document your financial journey, and surely you’ll be able to look back pleasantly at your work and progress. Edited to remove redundancies.
I imagine it would depend on who you are and your values. For example, I personally come from a place of eco justice. A goal in my life is to live in a way that is in integrity with the health of the environment. That means being aware of how the level of consumerism in the West is killing making the environment ill. I seek to purchase within reason, locally made if possible, natural fabrics, thrift, etc etc. So if I didn't hAve to worry about counting every dollar, my values of being somewhat minimal would still carry over. On the other hand, if someone buys into the consumer/capitalist nature of mainstream society- sure it's a slippery slope! 😊
Shoot for the stars Leila, we are all here behind you and your motivating us all to do better for ourselves. Your doing a great job and i love all your videos x
5:41 I would say that even if to have some sort of illness or disability, money allows you to get the treatment you need to at least have a better quality of care and life.
Thank you for posting this video.❤ it feels good to know that I am not the only one that feels this way. I also want to be wealthy for the many reasons you mentioned there. I have started the journey and it feels great.
You are a lovely woman I'd say you have a quite good chance to find yourself in a wealthy family circle Being wealthy only adds to daily pressures, hope you know that
Many people who are wealthy are always happy, there is a saying Money doesn't buy happiness, yet it does allow you to solve most of your problems by writing a check. Yes you'll be less stressed when something comes up. For me having a better mental health will allow me to have better relationships, in order to have access to the best care Money is needed. So My Vote would be more money in which it will allow me to focus on mental health improvement.
I had a great deal of stress in the 1990's because I used to work in a violent facility while dealing with severe IBS and a childhood brain injury. So, the wife and I decided to take some mental health time and go down to Daytona Beach and Clearwater. I remember one day I was fishing on a pier and talking to other guys about money and then I blurted out that I wanted to retire by age 40. Yes, it was a wish and a dream but in 2008 it happened. I believe I put that idea in my mind and held it their. And, in the last 16 years my health has been excellent with exercise and vitamins and Kale powder = Sulforaphane or raw 1/2 cup raw is fine and two 20 minute hot baths a day as per science studies. Because we don't have children so we will give our estate to the cats and dogs as we are dog volunteers for 15 years. Leila, thinks like I do so I know she will achieve anything she holds in her mind while the universe works out the details.
Hey Leila! Do you have a number of “enough money” in mind? I find as I continue on my own financial journey, enough never feels like enough, even when I exceed goals. Have you come into this dilemma as well? If you have could you talk about it in a future video?
you would think a state like Florida that experiences hurricanes every single year, would make home insurance more affordable or at least more accessible to everyone yet here we are
I would love to be wealthy as well. I’m tired of money always being a problem in my life. I want to retire early and be free but I need money to do that 😂
Imho there is no such thing as financial security. Financial serenity is the goal because it is more easily achievable and will always be attainable xxx
Would you rather be wealthy and rich instead of being in a relationship, like break up with your partner if you were given a huge about of money? In the poll people had to choose between the two. Just curious.
For me, it's all about balance and adapting to change over time. When I was younger, I worked really hard but I spent too much and never invested for my future. Now age 63, I have my own business and earn enough to be financially secure but not wealthy. I've achieved peace and tranquility and lead a simple life. I was always healthy but got really sick last year so focusing on my physical health is a priority. Life looks a lot different from age 25 to 35 to 45 to 55 to 65...
Hi Leila, it’s been a minute since I’ve watched your videos but they are always great. I just wanted to share, I’m building my wealth with Bitcoin. I’ve been stacking $10-$20 dollars per day since 2021 and it’s paid off really well.
@@PersonalFinancewithLeila I get that. There is definitely reason to be worried about crypto. Look in Bitcoin, not crypto. Think of Bitcoin as the S&P500 of Crypto as far as investing. It’s much more than that.
@@PersonalFinancewithLeila Correct with both RNC/DNC our healthcare will never be fixed as long those two parties are in control. I believe they could solve it but that would be one less talking point during election time.
Watching in my 40s... And only just starting investing I feel so behind!
