Marcelito Castro Pomoy IS THE REAL DEAL. Check out his life story; it is worthy of a movie. I had the great privilege of meeting and watching him in concert in June in Toronto. Watching him live was like an out of body experience. Proud to be Filipino. Cheers from Toronto.
Your reaction was priceless! Marcelito Pomoy taught himself this song, he has no classical training, rather taught himself how to sing from an early age. He learned this song by listening to a recording by Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli. His performance, considering that he requires a translator to carry on a conversation in English even though he understands it well but has trouble speaking it, is gorgeous. His native language is Philipino Tagalog, and he has no formal training. The recording engineer was teasing him about his female voice. That's why he spit her out at the end. Notice his big grin after doing that. He is singing now in at least English, Italian, Spanish and Chinese but he does not speak any of those languages. He grew up on the streets from age 7 or 8. On September 21, 2014, Pomoy married Joan Paraiso of Calauag, Quezon, and they have one daughter, Marcella Janiah. He is very humble, helping out his neighbors with odd jobs and repairs, even though his reported net worth is around $5,000,000 USD. His ambition serves him well in whatever he does!
Glad you finally heard Marcelito. He lived on the streets in Manila from age 6-7 until his friends talked him into entering a competition. I found Dimash from listening to Marcelito. His story is great, but sad. He made a good ending. Someone else can do better with other info. Thanks Guys. You're still fun! I've been immersed in Hua Chenyu music.
Marcelito Pomoy was the Grand Winner of Pilipinas Got Talent Season 2 in 2011. His talent is amazing and one of a kind. He will be joining America's Got Talent Champions very soon.
Hi Guys, Marcelito was on the street from age 7 to 24. then he entered philippines got talent and won in 2011. and found his family. Marcelito has not had any singing training. When he was on the street he would sing when he was scared. Marcelito does not realize that singers cannot usually switch voices, His voice got him off the street. he is famous in the philippines and I think he did a tour.
New Subscriber here and enjoyed your reactions; awestruck yet so calm reactions, silent watching him but I must say a lot of something to think of and say. Yes, indeed really felt crazy witnessing his great talent 😉👍🤔
He was living in the Streets when he was a young kid back then, selling balut at the same time a pinboy... It's just the same story like Senator Manny Pacquiao.. from nothing to Something... We are so proud of him, going now to America's got talent, he met celine Dion already bcuz of Ellen.. 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
Marcelito makes it easy because he can. He is a singing angel on earth. For me, this is his absolute masterpiece, something of crystal clear sung, the bright madness. I can't really think of a second person who can do it better.
He's never had a singing lesson when asked how he learned he said he didn't understand it himself. He sang in the high register from age seven, then at eighteen accidentally found his other voice.
What’s mind blowing, is, he needs an English interpreter to have a conversation in English. He’s singing in English, and Italian, he’s singing a duet, by himself, and he’s sitting down. Marcelito is amazing. He was one of my first watches, then I went to Dimash.
Summary from "Salary Loan For Approval" Marcelito's life story--with all its loneliness, deprivations, and hardships is one for the movies. His eventual success via Pilipinas Got Talent Season 2 in 2011 where he emerged as champion will surely inspire anyone who has come to know about the difficult life he has had and clearly see the hands of God lifting him from the sufferings he had gone through. His is not just a Cinderella-like story but a poignant story of longing and love for his own family he never grew up with and one of forgiveness. His story not only gives hope to those who are weighed down but also strengthens their faith in God and renews their belief that God sees all their sufferings and that sooner or later, He will liberate them from their woes. To start with his lonely yet inspiring life story and basing on his TV interviews and information from various Internet sources, Marcelito Pomoy first saw the light of day in Mangagoy, Bislig City in Surigao del Sur. He is third in a brood of four. When he was about two years old, his father, on false accusation, got imprisoned. His mother, together with his eldest sibling who was then about seven years old, left him and his two other siblings, the youngest being just 3 months old, to somebody else's care to look for a job elsewhere. When someone reported to the authorities that nobody was attending to the children, they were brought to his father in prison where they were fed on food shared with them or contributed by other prisoners. When their father got sick, however, and could no longer take care of them, he was forced to have them adopted by a local policeman in the person of Ali Macawili. Marcelito stayed with the Macawilis until he was eight years old. He was not treated very well and experienced maltreatment, which prompted him to ask the Macawilis if he was their real child. After disclosing to him the truth that they were just foster parents and that his real father was jailed that eventually led to his adoption by Macawili, Marcelito left home the following day to look for his father in prison. But he miserably failed to find the latter there. Marcelito, in subsequent turn of events and despite his tender age, found himself engaged in various economic activities in order to survive. He worked as a pin boy in a duckpin bowling alley, sold "balut" (fertilized duck egg, a local delicacy) and ice cream, and performed other odd jobs. Many times, he slept in the streets because he did not have a real home. When he was sixteen years old--eight years after he left his adoptive parents--and while selling balut, a suki (regular customer) recognized him and told him he knew what happened to his family and that he also knew of his father's whereabouts. The man brought the excited Marcelito to his father, who turned out to be another suki of his. His father cried when they met and upon telling him of the story behind his mother's leaving them, Marcelito harbored ill-feelings against his mother. Marcelito stayed with his father who then had a new family, but only briefly as he decided to leave because he could not get along well with his stepmother. Through an illegal recruiter, he later moved to Manila to seek employment. He worked in a furniture shop, washed empty Emperador Brandy bottles, worked in a poultry farm and in a piggery, and also worked in a construction outfit. It was during his employment in a poultry farm where he discovered his talent in singing in both a male tenor voice and a strikingly convincing female soprano voice, owing to his idolizing Regine Velasquez, the diva of the local entertainment scene. He would sing as he sprayed the chicken house. When Marcelito turned 24, he went back to his father in Surigao. His father then informed him that his mother was in Manila. He didn't know that while he was working in Manila, his mother and siblings were also there. Equipped with his eldest sister's cell phone number which his father provided him, Marcelito returned to Manila to look for his mother and siblings and this time successfully found them. When Marcelito first met his mother, he could not describe his feeling. He said he was kind of angry as though asking why she left them. His mother, however, hugged him and asked for his forgiveness. Shortly after finding his mother and siblings, Marcelito got sick. He needed an apendectomy for his chronic condition. It was his second-to-the-eldest sister who spent for his operation and hospitalization. When Marcelito got out of the hospital, he was brought to his eldest sister who later made unsavory comments about his being a parasite, and additional mouth to feed, and that hurt him. He was challenged by that kind of offensive comment so he decided to join a reality TV talent search. He first joined ABC 5 Talentadong Pinoy but didn't make it there. Not giving up, he tried ABS-CBN's Pilipinas Got Talent Season 2 where he garnered 19.56% of the total text votes in the finals, making him the grand champion and winning a whopping P2 million. All the members of his family were present showing their support during the grand finals at the Araneta Coliseum where he impressively performed "The Prayer" which was popularized by Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli. Marcelito was given a standing ovation by the audience and all three judges. When asked what his prayer was during that night, Marcelito said he prayed that his performance be successful so that his family would be proud as that was the very first time in his life that he saw all the members of his long-lost family together and complete. Marcelito got emotional when he answered that question. On September 21, 2014, Marcelito Pomoy married Joan Paraiso of Calauag, Quezon, and they have one daughter, Marcella Janiah Marcelito's lonely and difficult life seems over. With his "beautiful voices" coupled with his unique style of singing and his legions of fans ready to support him, no doubt, this "internet sensation" will be going far very in his career. P.S. He was on the Ellen Degeneres show in November/December 2018
The first time I heard his voice I was speechless I couldn't say a word I've never heard anything sound so beautiful that a person can change in a hold of tone and come back to it it's impossible it's amazing that God gave him a voice like that and I pray that he keep using it and keep uses we can't use it anymore he is very awesome and I love to hear him sing
Hi guys mr B and mr S..try to hear the chinese song of him, despacito too and perfect by ed sheeran you can tell how his voice will impact you in different kind of pitch..he will really impressed and amazed you more and more..or try to warch also his remote challenge coz i dont know what will be your honest reaction on that video when you watch it..thank you for supporting and keep trusting marcelito..his our hero and always our champion..godbless to your show hope to watch and hear more reaction from you guys...😍🎶😆
Lol! Wow, if I realized you guys hadn't listened to Marcelito yet I would have been one of those bugging you. I found a comment from a poster named David Fryer who described Marcelito's history this way. "He (Marcelito Pomoy) has an amazing background. His mother left when he was born and his father went to prison for a long sentence. He grew up in prison with his father for two years and then was adopted by a guard. When he was seven he found out he was adopted and ran away. Lived in the streets of the Philippines doing odd jobs for food money. Tought himself to sing. Eventually entered and won Philippines got talent. This performance went viral and is making him internationally famous . He has a third grade education and speaks neither English or Italian." -- David Fryer
Blows the mind huh. He taught himself to do that. Have another Filipino singer for you..Charice singing The Bodyguard Medley with David Foster on piano
What’s more shocking about this is he was not even classical trained as a singer like Dimash. He didn’t have formal singing lessons. He learned by listening to radio, watching television and karaoke. He was even homeless and grew up in a prison.
Marcelito takes this song to yet another level in the release of his album, "Duet Yourself". Since it is a tracked recording, he includes all of the harmonies where Bocelli and Dion sing together in harmony. It is quite beautiful with Marcelito singing the lead (Bocelli) in tenor/baritone and the alto harmony (Dion) in countertenor. This song also includes a marvelous background orchestra. Here is the link to the audio: ua-cam.com/video/ULwa6eLtufY/v-deo.html Here is a partial list of other covers by Marcelito: Celine Dion's "The Power of Love" (His best female imitation in my opinion) Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On" Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You", "I Have Nothing", "One Moment in Time" Loren Allread's "Never Enough" Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean" Celine Dion/Peabo Bryson's "Beauty and the Beast" Kenny Loggins "Forever" Mariah Carey's "Hero" and "Oh Holy Night" Elvis Presley's "Can't Help Falling In Love" Beyonce's "Listen" Steelheart's "She's Gone" Ed Sheeran's "Perfect" Miley Cyrus' "When I Look At You" Luther Vandross "Dance With My Father" Diana Ross/Lionel Richie's "Endless Love" Sarah Brightman/Andrea Bocelli's "Time To Say Goodbye" (He sings in Italian) Teresa Teng "The Moon Represents My Heart" (He sings in Chinese) IL Divo/ Celine Dion's "I Believe In You" (He sings in French and imitates 4 different voices) Luis Fonsi's "Despacito" (He sings in Spanish) Finally, Marcelito sings numerous Filipino songs in his native language, Tagalog.
Thank you for watching Marcelino pomoy he is the grandwinner of the Philippines got talent season 2 please watch marcelito pomoy the Ellen DeGeneres show.
Droned Soleimani lmao! To be fair, you qre rightabout the Ellen Show performance, and I love this guy’s style, he was probably overwhelmed having to sing to an audience who aren’t Filipinos, and to be on National TV is a big thing too. But he sang live in Portugal,if I’m not mistaken, and he nailed it. He sang Despacito and hit it like a boss, too.
The Wish 107.5 Bus has lots of talents for the world to see. The Filipino language enable us to clearly pronounce all letters of the alphabet that made many of us to sing any song in any language. 🇵🇭
It's called doble kara (two face) in the Philippines. it's pretty common but difficult to perfect. I say common because I have friends back in the Philippines who can do it BUT mind you it's very difficult to perfect and it can strain your vocal chords without proper care. :) Pinoy fr Texas, USA :)
Next Disney production: Marcelito Pomoy. You don't need other singers - ok, maybe some choir parts to beef it up - but for all the main voices, he'll do.
The very first time he sang on Talentadong Pinoy he was dressed half-man, half-woman, turning sides to the camera as he performed the man and woman voices.
Just want to share about the TNTBOYS. First TNT means Tawag Ng Tanghalan, it's a singing contest in the Philippines where this Boys are all contestant and competing with a lot of Kids who joined the contest and this 3 Kids is lucky enough to made it to the grand final and Keifer is the 2nd placer while Mackie is 3rd and Francis is 5th place. This Kids are from different provinces and Francis is the poorest of them 3 who was adopted now by His Aunt. Keifer's Father is a driver and He goes with His Father for a ride and calling for a passenger..Mackie while still young been joining other singing contest where He win most of the time..During the guesting on Vice Ganda Show thus 3 Kids where a guess together with the 1st and 4th place r of the singing contest show..But anyway the Host Vice on the spot asked Mackie, Francis and Keifer to sing the song Listen like they are fighting to each other and Vice will pinpoint who will sing because of that battle song it went viral on UA-cam and they got a lot of different reaction all over the world and that's how the TNTBOYS started and they where invited at little big shot UK,then LBS USAx2 and LBS Australia..Their first major concert in the Philippines was a sold out concert at the Areneta COLISEUM and become the youngest performer who had a sold out to ticket on that venue. They have a 3 sold out concert 2 in the US and 1 in Canada...
Though is not at Dimash level but close, his merit is higher because he has no musical education (he was a street kid in Manila for a few years). Amazing.
@Politically Correct Winners True but is not Dimash's case, because he is extremely talented, too. On the contrary. Considering "Marxist way of thinking" it's funny it came from you. Politically corectiness it' a tool of the Neo Marxism (Cultural marxism). Ironic, isn't it?
You are absolutely correct when you say Pomoy is not even to the level of Dinash who some people say can even hit 6 octave, BUT I don't think Dinash can imitate the likeness of Dion and Bocelli. So the real question here is, can Pomoy step up to Dinash caliber? No. Can Dinash sound like Dion/Bocelli or any other famous singers? No. You're comparing apples and oranges here.
@@nycelectrician5796 To be honest, I am not so sure that Dimash couldn' t do this. Maybe you are right in this matter, but I won't be so sure until I'll see it. Dimash is full of surprises.
Beautifully tragic life. His story is of rags to riches. Homeless from the age of 7-24. No education or training. Worked odd jobs all his life until he heard about a singing contest. The rest is history. Look him up.
ONLY USING CAPS FOR ME TO SEE BETTER - MARCELITO WAS HOMELESS & ALONE FROM THE AGE OF 7 TO 24. HIS DAILY SURVIVAL DID NOT INCLUDE SCHOOL AS EARNING $$$ FOR FOOD WAS UPMOST. HE DIDN'T DISCOVERED UNTIL HE WAS 18 THAT HE HAS THE RANGE HE DOES - TENOR TO SOPRANO. HE WON THE PHILLIPINES GOT TALENT. HE HAS NOT HAD VOCAL LESSONS. A NATURAL GIFT.
My first reaction was, "OMG he ate two people!" One man duet. Who needs two people to get the job done when one man can do it all. Every producers dream, one paycheck for an artist doing a two people's job. Excellent job Pomoy! 👍👍

There's talent, then there's Marcelito Pomoy
After 3 years listen to him I still think he's an angle .
Marcelito didn't just role play male and female voice...he as well mimicked the voices of Celine Dion and Andrea boccelli.
He mimics foreign and local talents. Such an amazing talent!

Power of love on wish by marcelito pomoy
Just an update, Marcelito will be competing in America's Got Talent this Jan. 2020
@Jim Jones Koolaid Company stupid😑
Wow.... just wow
This guy from the Philippines and he won in Philippine Got Talent. And he do sing also Beauty and the Beast with two different voices.
i love your reaction dude... even though i'm not commenting in your channel but im always watching your channel. GOD BLESS TO BOTH OF YOU...
He will be at America Got Talent the Champion on Jan 6, 2020 competing with all different talent from different world
It's called doble kara (two face) in the Philippines. it's pretty common but difficult to perfect. I say common because I have friends back in the Philippines who can do it BUT mind you it's very difficult to perfect and it can strain your vocal chords without proper care. :)
Pinoy fr Texas, USA :)
ilove your jordan jacket
2 voices, 2 languages !!!
Amazing voice control... He won the second season of Filipinos Got Talent...
Next Disney production: Marcelito Pomoy. You don't need other singers - ok, maybe some choir parts to beef it up - but for all the main voices, he'll do.
Try to react to Marcilito Pomoy on Ellen Show.. u will know who & how he can sing in two voices
😁Your Expressions.
..thanks..
he won inphillipines got talent, came to americas got talent to show2 his talent
what?what?...and wow😁😁😁...👍👍
Nothing but goosebumps. How the hell is he not famous? All I hear is Justin Bieber and BS on the radio
Try to react Marcelito Pomoy “ The Power of Love “ originally by Celine Dione its mind blowing. Thank you.
He sang female/male, pop.classical, English/Italian all while sitting down, live, without ever having a single vocal lesson in his life.
Heard that he's joining agt nextyear.. ✌️✌️
Look him up.
homeless since 7 years old self tought better then dimash
it's called doble kara or two face. it's common here in the Philippines...
Please try to react hes
Endles love
Power of love
Wow
We called it "Doble Kara" mean "Double Face"of course with two voices. It's natural here in PH.
When you say it’s natural in the PH, does it means everyone in the PH can sing in two voices as Marcelito Pomoy?
No its not natural. Not all can do that. Huwag kayong masyado...
I like the two of you react you're expressions bit ☺
