I don't have the Jade, but my Viking is very similar, I wound it by hand, but I think that's wrong, and I surely didn't get it fully in that tension clip either. Thanks for the helpful video, I'll give it another go!
Darlene, I purchased my Jade 20 machine through a Viking (Husqvarna) dealer and received NO, NONE, ZIP, ZERO instruction on how to use the machine. I found your video and THANK YOU for the excellent demo/instruction on its various features. I own an old Viking Designer (that uses floppy disks), an old Sears Kenmore, and a new Bernina. So I am not new to sewing on a machine. BUT each machine is different and has features unique to it. I have found my Jade 20 (a store model) to be noisy. In your video it appears that your machine is much quieter. Is there a place on the Jade that can be oiled or perhaps cleaned to help reduce the ‘noise’? I am fastidious in maintaining my Bernina. Is there something I can do at home to help maintain my Jade? Again, thank you for taking the time and making your terrific video.
Thank you , i tried and tried and tried again , dont what im doing wrong, it looks like its in the tension , but it just does gather..i have a viking opal, any suggestions

Thanks so much - I see now that I hadn't secured tension on bobbin.
What are your settings?
Could you explain what thread tension you’re using? Thank you!
I usually use whatever thread tension is recommended for the type of fabric. It's printed on the lid of the machine.
