  • Mark Goodier interviews Richard Madeley on Radio 2 who sounds remarkably like Alan Partridge
I was driving one afternoon in 2016 and, scanning through the radio, came across this interview and was astounded at the Partridgeness of Madeley. Not just the subject matter, but the tone of voice. It's so ruddy Partridge

Armed with two (or was it three? Anyway I digress...) pairs of designer jeans (Topshop was, and still is in my humble opinion THE Toppest of shops) this partnership had its ups and downs (but I must add, more ups than downs) however the storms were duly weathered and life was duly lived. Ergo.......etc.

Coogan says in interviews that Madeley was a key influence on the shaping of the Alan Partridge character. It's obvious when you listen to this... Fantastic.

I saw a clip of Richard Madeley as Alan Partridge last week & it was funny, but forgetable. Tonight I've stumbled across him interviewing some squatters and now this. I won't be able to see, hear or think about Richard Madeley, without thinking of him as Alan Partridge. Great stuff.
