    Dear AXP,
Amanuel is one of the worst repeat callers that the show has had IN YEARS. His "arguments" have not changed AT ALL after six months of calling multiple atheist shows. He gets waaaayyy too much air time on these platforms for someone who has never called in with a sound argument. He doesn't call in to learn or have a meaningful discussion, he only wants to parrot what he believes week after week and has shown on multiple occasions how close-minded he is. He is a prime example of how religion can poison your brain. If religious indoctrination was a person it would be him.
In conclusion, pllleeaaassseee put him on a 5-7 minute timer and if the call goes in the same direction as his previous calls then he should be dropped and given a 2-week time-out to go back to the drawing board to renovate his argument.
    Sincerely,
    AXP Fan

I replied this to another post, but it applies to yours too:
He's (amanuel) openly admitted he's aware he might not change any of the hosts' minds and calls in because it's his divinely assigned duty to keep trying regardless, and that not doing it would doom him to hell. Of course, he also believes in pre destination, so at the end of the day he might go to hell anyway, but he thinks he should live serving his god regardless. It's sad and pathetic and illogical, but in some ways, as much as some might find him annoying, he's also a regular reminder of what fanatic, blind faith leads someone to sound like.

    • @MikeSpikes-ns7or
      @MikeSpikes-ns7or 7 місяців тому +1

      Nope.
I myself am not religious but I can't understand why atheist don't get the fact that "sin" all sin is harm done to other humans...
In other words, your little insults and temper tantrums don't harm God and God will not "punish" you for anything you did against him but for the stuff you did to other human beings.
      It's simple really.
If you or anyone else claims to have lived a perfect life where you never caused any harm to another human being you are a liar.
The people in hell will be those that go to the grave insisting they are perfect.
I'm glad you mentioned the fact that God made it impossible for us to keep his laws because you are correct in saying so...
This is where the hypocrites Bible thumpers fail, instead of realizing this fact and being more "compassionate" towards others because we all fail in different ways, the thumpers use religion to marginalize others who don't share in their sins for example gays.
In conclusion, this life was meant to humble us. True humility is accepting your failures and becoming compassionate with your fellow men.
All sin is against other humans.
This life is kinda like the Wonka Charlie chocolate movie, one good deed in a world of bad ones
I will use myself for example, I struggle with lust. I have never drank alcohol or used drugs, much less have had to battle with homosexuality...
But I do sin... In my own way. The Bible is full of lists of sins and things that offend God.
You are bound to find something you're guilty of if you read long enough.
Is the drug addict worse than the gay? The porn addict worse than the murderer? No.
They are all guilty of sin. Same sentence unless... They "repent"
Repentance is accepting your flaws and not condemn others for theirs.
As a porn addict, your internal thoughts when you see a gay shouldn't be to condemn him and hope he goes to hell but rather, since you yourself are guilty of other things, you should hope God has compassion on him and you.
      Humans ruin everything including religion.
True religion is to plead the cause of the widow and the cause of the orphan as stated in the Bible.

It's as if the message of the new testament flew over your head.
Jesus explained time after time that all he wants from us is to be kind and merciful towards others..
He used the parable of the good Samaritan as well as the parable of the 2 men that were forgiven great debt as examples..
When the Pharisees (religious leaders of his day) asked him plainly what the 2 most important laws were Jesus told him plainly that the most important thing was Loving God and loving your neighbor and that by doing so, the laws and the prophets were fulfilled...
In other words, do this and you fulfill God's command.
The pharisee, being a cunning man, then asked Jesus who his "neighbor" was and Jesus responded telling him the parable of the good Samaritan.
I understand you, I do. Most of us have been harmed by religious ppl in the past or get discouraged when you see ppl like the megachurch pastors on tv flaunting their wealth...
But those ppl never knew God
      Or never practiced true religion.
As I said earlier, true religion is pleading for the cause of the poor and the cause of the widow, not going to a building on a certain day and blabbering pointless repetitions pretending to talk to God

I was born in Ireland to an Irish Catholic family and had to go to Mass every week, confession too, communion, confirmation - at no point, even from the age of three, did I ever believe any of what my parents and family believed and often used to openly mock it, in a slagging kind of way. And, that was even long before I saw a load of the stuff that was in the bible (catholics, rather sensibly, don't tend to bother with that book; because, it doesn't suit them for people to read it; because it's lies aren't well-constructed or convincing ones). When I flicked through the bible, none of its boring and earnest yet, also, culty characters moved me in any way, other than Zachias, and that was only because I interpreted it as him spotting Jesus and his boring wankers coming towards him and climbed a tree to avoid them; but, was spotted and harangued and had to invent a cover story. For secondary education went to a state school in England and, in RE, they taught us about all of the main religions of the world. At the time, I realised that they were doing it with the laudable goal of showing us that there was a plurality of beliefs in our society and we should respect all. However, I also thought that, if they wanted us to respect these eegits, then they shouldn't tell us the stupid things they believe in. To this day, I still mock everyone else's deeply held stupid beliefs (it's fun!) andO encourage them to do the same to mine. I even list them for them: 1. Plausible stuff.

Of course, I used to take the mick out of their god and their Jesus and their beliefs and what have you - it amused me, it amused them, too. Anyway, one day one of them said something like: if you say the lord's prayer backwards in front of a mirror, then the devil's face will appear in a mirror; so, I decided to try it and see if it worked. So, I wrote out the Lords prayer backwards and went into the gents and started reciting it the mirror. A friend of mine who was also atheist and seemingly enthusiastic was there, standing half in and half out of the door. He kept losing his nerve and going out and coming back in, which I found odd. I reached the end of the recitation and, naturally, the devil's face appeared in the mirror. So, I went and told the Christians that they were right, and, what's more, he looks the spitting image of me, except that I have a dark freckle on my right cheek and he had one on his left cheek.

First, wow. Second i'm legally blind, i was suppose to go completely blind by age 10. I can't and wouldn't even try to speak for everyone. But i absolutely hate this attitude. People mean well. But I see it all the time online. A women with no arms and the comments are "she has such a positive personality" or "She's so sweet." Um.... why shouldn't she be a sweet, charming person? Or cops help a neurodivergent kid. The comments read "Wow he's so well spoken." Or "He knew exactly what was happening."
Imagine i walk up to you and say "Wow, you're so well spoken." Ask yourself, really does that sound like a compliment? The kid is Black, i doubt people even thought about it. Which actually kinda makes it worse when you consider. "You're so well spoken" that phrase has a disgusting history in this country.
"sighs" I get it you mean well. But you're projecting. Yes i'm legally blind, i'll never drive a car. And i can't read a computer screen from across the room. Martial Arts Gymnastics, i do all kinds of things. Because why wouldn't I? Sure i can't drive, so i literally ran everywhere. 5 days a week i spend at least an hour practicing with swords. I'm a self employed indie game dev. Working towards launching my Studio & UA-cam channel next month. In what way am i just existing? Blind people have climbed Everest, look it up. People with no hands can drive, look it up.
To wrap this up. Please check out Tomorrow's Children. You can find it here on UA-cam. Its a movie about how the good christian folks of the US use to sterilize people like me. The movie is fictional. The practice was very real.

    Couple things
    1) I care about what is real and what isn't.
    2) Believing things just because is irrational and is a terrible slippery slope.

I would love for forest to put a paper elephant behind his book shelf so he could be technically right and one day use it as another proof about how people are easily fooled by words.

Nikol - when theists learn to mind their own damn business, we won't care what you believe. Not believing in nonsense is very useful to keep from being conned. Fantasy can be fun sometimes, but it is very limiting and dull. Wishing something was true, does not make it true.

Maybe this god should know not to put a couple of forbidden trees in the middle of a garden with people who don't know right from wrong yet, and a talking serpent that they will actually listen to instead of running away from it scared sh*tless.
It is like a parent putting a baby in a crib with a loaded gun, telling the baby not to use the gun, and then putting their sibling in the room to show them how to use it. Whose fault is that when they get shot?!?!?

I like the Bene Gesserit description of “the voice” as the iron fist in a velvet glove. Seth has it in spades. I love the combination of Seth and Forrest. See you at Cracker Barrel?

For the "Change one word" challenge, I'd change shalt to shan't in any of the 10 commandments.
Like "Thou Shalt Not Kill" To "Thou Shan't Not Kill".... In other words, "Kill". Same with adultery, covet, steal, lie about someone in court.
If anyone is confused, shan't is the proper contraction of shall and not. So thou shall not not kill is the same as saying, Thou shalt kill. In other words.... Kill.
In the bible, you can get a lot of mileage from changing shall to shan't.

33:30 I'm reminded of a quote from the 90s sci-fi show Babylon 5. One of the characters comments that he used to lament at how unfair the universe is. But then he realized that if it was fair, than he must have done something to deserve all the bad things that have happened to him and are going on at that point in the series, and so now he takes great comfort in the general unfairness and hostility of the universe.
