I've followed all your previous tutorials, but I have to say I've gotten the best results with this tutorial the most. I've gained up to 10 fps in some parts of the sim. I'm seeing greens and yellows on the FS FPS counter. If one red spike appears, I don't notice anything. I tested this out on the west coast of Canada and will be trying out in some busier areas later. I'm always linking your videos when someone is complaining about their problems in FS. Really appreciate the work you put into your videos.
First off I don’t comment on videos, but this video deserves one. This helped me gain frames and graphic quality I didn’t think I’d ever be able to get because of this video and I have watched many, many msfs2020 graphics and fps videos that didn’t even get me close in low settings. Now I’m at very realistic looking and very playable 90+ frames. Thank you kind sir!!
I've said it many times in the past, but once again THANK YOU!!! I completely understand no two systems (even with virtually the same components) ever work the same, but these latest settings have worked absolutely great! The color change from the single setting has made a significant enhancement as well. I truly appreciate your continuous efforts to share improvement "tweaks" for MSFS and look forward to future updates as it & equipment continue to evolve and change (just crossed 40 year mark with MSFS)!
Hi Flyers, This presenter is the best by far when it comes to getting your settings under control. I have followed his instructions to the letter and my system has never run better - the only thing I can add is restarting your computer after making changers. This step I found critical to ensuring setting are saved, reboot, and don't just shutdown and restart. Restarting the simulator is not enough in my opinion. Thank - you sir, I'm going to buy you a beer, its the least I can do for your hard work.
I almost doubled my FPS from 46 to 80 and as a gamer I didn't believe it to be possible. I should mention that I have pretty powerful PC but I had problems with a 3rd party aircraft but your detailed guidance solved it without visuall sacrifice.❤
I want to thank you soooooo much!!! I was about to give up on MSFS after having horrible FPS and overall performance. It is now working smoother than ever. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
After spending a year trying to get MSFS to run ok on a pretty fast right it seems most if not all of my issues were related to doing an upgrade from Win10 to Win11. I tired every trick in the book to rid myself of stutters. The PC came back from every test just fine yet the micro stutters persisted. Until yesterday I finally did a clean install of 23H2 and the stuttering is FINALLY GONE. Whats funny is how quickly I got it all setup because I had tried every optimization trick in the past two years, lol. This is what I had always dreamed MSFS in VR would someday be. Thanks' for all the time and suggestions mate!
Your welcome and thanks for the comment . For this reason you gave here is why I will not update to win11 no no no lol . Glad you got it back to it's previous glory. 😉
I been watching your videos for a while . I was trying to get the best out of rtx 2060 but now got a 3070 can’t wait to get things how I need again all thanks for your videos just wanna say thanks pal I appreciate your time and help
Thank you so much for this great guide with good epxplanations :) I just upgraded from a ASUS STRIX 3070 to a Palit Jetstream GTX 4080 and I had poor performance and low FPS. With the 3070 over New York with high settings I had around 25 FPS (with your older tweak guide) now with this and the new 4080 I get 60-70+ FPS over New Yorkk and on ground 50-64 FPS! Its amazing! And its so much more fuent and smooth in flight. Only have a slight tearing when moving my head on the cockpit but I can live with that. So thank you again! And keep up the good videos and content! Keep the blu side up and be safe!
Once again.... you have impressed me and helped us (me in particular). I too have followed you for some time and used many of your assistance videos. I agree with Akashi's comment that I have gotten the most noteable results from this update video. I am ROCKIN AMAZED!!! Thank you again and continue the OUTSTANDING videos. Cheers!!!!!!👋
Best way to mitigate screen tearing is to get a 240+hz monitor with 1ms response time. It will still screen tear but the screen refreshes so fast you can't notice it even if you know where to look. Good guide that went over other ways though.
Thank you!! As someone who exclusively flies the FPS heavy Fenix A320 with mostly high end specs (4070ti GPU) I have felt robbed by the performance especially at the larger airports with traffic. I have upgraded several components without much luck. These settings did a hell of a job to reduce stuttering and increase performance while also increasing quality! I have subbed and look forward to your videos going forward!
Between all the videos you've made on the subject, I gained a solid 10+ fps in vr using quest 3 and Virtual desktop between 55-70 depending on location. Interestingly, im still cpu bound with my 7800x3d × 4090 pc
Found this most useful and solved a lot of issues. However, first thing I noticed is that it knocked out my Tobii eye tracker 5. It could not see my eyes in the calibration box to set up the display - strange. Also, after the first flight of about an hour in got some really bad stuttering, so bad that I had to can the flight. I did try the DX12(beta) as you suggested for the first time but despite the bad reviews of DX12, didn't get a CTD, otherwisw coul'n't see the difference. I turned off the DLSS frame generation and now an hour into a new flight - so far so good ! Only just found your You tube channel, some great stuff you have done, thanks
Definitely time to revisit my settings since watching your previous guide, since I'm in VR only (Aero/RTX4090). Subscribed already, so I'll just smash that like button now 😂
Thank you thank you 😊 i also have the aero it's fantastic I love it . I'm doing a pimax series comparing the aero to the crystal I can't wait tonsee how the visuals compare also doing some through the lens stuff.
@@2020fsers Awesome. I saw a recent review of the Crystal and other than the visuals, I'm not impressed (compared to the Aero). I had a 8KX which I sold to help fund my Aero. Best move I made 😂
Wanted to take a few minutes to thank you for all the time and effort you put in to making these MSFS videos. Your explanations were clear, concise, easy to follow and understand. I carefully went through the first video and had good results. I just completed the second update video and the results were stunning to say the least. Prior to following the videos, I routinely that 25-40 max FPS running pretty much everything on Ultra, on a high-end machine. I now routinely have 60-80 FPS on exactly the same machine. A pretty dramatic improvement to say the least. Thanks again for numerous great videos to improve the performance of MSFS. HOWEVER (always one of those, right?), while everything is sharp and running smoothly, my instrument panel is fuzzy. With so many modifications in place, do you have any idea where I might have screwed up, or made a change I shouldn't have made? I am running WIN11, DirectX 12, Win 11 22H2, 12tg Gen i9-12900K, Nvidia RTX 3080 Ti, and most recent version of MSFS. Any suggestions???
Thanks for the help. DX11 vs DX12 didn't make any difference, but switching to TAA mode solved the problem. Everything else continued to work fine and it didn't change the FPS that I had achieved. Think I'll go back and take a look at some of your other videos as you seem to be the most knowledgeable source that I have found.@@2020fsers
Hey thanks for the video and great tips. One thing I notice with VSYNC and tearing is that when your in windowed mode there’s no tearing at all with VSYNC off. But when you go full screen you get tearing. Don’t know why that is but that’s what happens.
I'm not the biggest fan of bloom, but for me it's essential to have this on in VR otherwise the Sun looks like a plain white circle like someone used the ellipse tool from Paint.
Yeah I agree with how the sun looks it is much better the only issue I have is in the cockpit it makes it look hazy like it's to bright so that's why I have mine off otherwise it would be on.
This is very helpful it helps my 3080ti and gives much boost improvements. I did Optimized my Asus ROG bios to give more power but, this is very helpful. UPDATE: it give gives around 70fps
Thank you tons for all the work you have done here and shared with us ...!!! You have definitely helped my VR enjoyment in the simulator. thank you ... thank you ... thank you
Hi, I came across ur channel a few weeks ago and I must say I am amazed by your content, helping out ur community in so many way for the best experience in msfs. U really earned a new subscriber and I look forward to the upcoming content. Video Idea: Maybe u can "test" dldsr in Flightsim, as I think this feature is very Interesting, especially for mid/low-end PCs
Thank you for the comment ... I'm happy you enjoy the content ☺️. I'll try dsr again ,because I don't have a mid to low range pc I'm not getting the benefit like some other users have told me.
@@2020fsers nahhh SU 13 did a number on my sim and I had to reinstall and the last time I wrote down the settings those were the ol days so thought id rewatch and take notes.
Another good idea is to take screen shots of your changes either with a phone or the snip tool in windows and make a file for all your settings then you will have a picture diary of settings. Kinda sad we have to do that but just a thought.
This tip of texture resolution in VR to use it the same that the PC mode is curious. I'll test it in a few days in VR, because in PC (out of VR) I usually use Ultra, but in VR it's Medium. I'll try put both them in High :D
Like NIGHT and DAY! Where did the oh so comfy stutters go? =P Great video! Any ideas to tweak any of the mentioned settings or are they ok as "it is" ? 3060 Ti // 5600 X / 144hz gsync compaiblle
Settings should be fine for the 3060ti. I don't have a gsync monitor so I'm not to sure of gsync settings in the control panel. I will be doing an updated version for some of the new settings inside the control panel. Thanks for the comment. Glad you had some good results..
Nanovg is a new default setting in msfs mainly for gauges . This is on as default so you shouldn't need to mess with it. It needs to be on for the setting in went over right before I showed this.
My go to channel for MSFS settings. I know you have a 4000 series card, so not something you'd need to use, but any chance you'd do a video on the new frame gen mod? If I'm using the settings outlined in this video and I still get some shimmering on buildings, something to try and change? Or just the nature of 3rd party scenery? (EGSS in this case).
Thanks for the comment .. No I don't have a 4000 card I have a 3080ti. Yes I have seen the fsr mod using amd for frame gen on a nvidia card. Honestly in my opinion it is not something I will do . My reason for this is I don't like changing game files like this . This creates an issue now of constant updates. As this mod gets updated it will need to reinstalled in the sim . And vice Versa as msfs gets updates it may not jive with the mod and cause issues and conflicts until the mod is updated . This in itself is reason enough for me not to use it but everyone I have talked to well 90% have tried the mod and had to may issues with ctds , flickering on screens and panels , stutters when panning and using twice as much vram on your card causing you to need to dummy down settings to play stutter free. I know some people have good luck with it but to benefit the whole I won't be showing people how to do this as I personally don't feel it's worth it.
Your welcome ... yes I need to post my specs I forgot lol. I use a i9 10850k running 5.1 ghz all core and 32gb ram at 3866mhz and 14clk . 1 tb ssd and gpu rtx 3080ti
Thanks so much for all your setup guides ! I'm on a Razer laptop with 3080TI, and I still can't decide between DX12 and DX11. What would you recommend ?
Thanks for the comment ... on my system dx12 sux especially in vr I get like single digit fps so I don't use it. The only thing I can tell you is to try it and see for yourself if you do use it try it with and without hags mode . That may also help.in dx12 not dx11 hags always off for dx11.
Thanks for the comment ... the nanovg is a new way to render gauges instead of gdi . It's set on as default so if you never changed it then it should be set correctly. Msfs implemented this on su12.
Thank you for all the great videos you create! You Have helped me alot. I'm having a problem with Things like trees , lights and towers in the distance that have this under water look to them or almost like a magnified look. Everything else is great except that issue.
Thank you, do you recommend dlss 3 (HAGS) on for RTX2080? You mentioned it could give stutters, but is the overall performance still beter do you reckon ?
Unless you have a 4000 series card I don't reccomend hags mode . I've had very poor performance with it. But I have tried dlss using dlaa mode but I am still using taa on my system.
Thank you, your video’s are great. Any chance you fly DCS? If yes would you be able to do a setup guide for dcs? I generally copy your msfs settings with a few tweaks.
Thanks so so much Michael I really appreciate the super thanks 😊 unfortunately I don't use dcs and probably will not . I would love to I just don't have the time to invest in learning the military aircraft .
Dlss3 no benefit in vr and it may cause issues in vr idk because I'm not using a 4000 series card but hags on in vr may not be good further testing would need to be done for that. If I ever upgrade to the 4000 series
Thank you for the interesting video Recently discovered that Nvidia experience with its game overlay you can indicate in the settings that you can always see the fps. In MSFS you can of course also show the fps. Do you have an explanation why Nvidia's fps is almost double MSFS? Which gives the correct frame rate?
I am not to sure about the nvidia fps . I debloat my driver and remove everything I don't need and GeForce is 1 of them . I always go by the in sim fps and also in the openxr toolkit the fps is the same as the in sim counter so I'd say the in sim is correct .
Hi thanks for this buddy. I don’t understand - if you have a 3080 card how come you are talking about adjusting settings for a 4000 series card? Is a 3090 considered a 3000 or 4000 series card?
Hi , got better fps and no stutter after this guide , I have AMD Ryzen 5 3600 with a RTX 3060 12Gb and 32Gb ram .. Thanks alot for the guide I eas thinking of using DLSS , should it be Performence or what?
Nice vid...never knew about the built in FPS counter and how it can tell you if you are GPU or PCU bound. Love the digital vibrancy tip as the GeForce Experience with frame generation crashes flight sim. Digital vibrancy gives me that little boost in saturation I'm looking for. What CPU/GP are you running? I noticed I'm CPU bound. I'm running a 10850k and with a 4080 RTX. Time for A new CPU I believe....
I am using a 10850k with my setup but using a rtx3080ti .your gpu it's running faster than your cpu so yes you are probably cpu bound . Thanks for the comment . Glad you like the video
I’m using a RTX 3060 on a 4K monitor. When trying to switch to 1440, the image look really bad. Would the scaling option help me? Btw, great tutorial as usual. Amazing.
Ok don't use that keep that on 4k then and change the in sim resolution and see if that helps if not then use the scaling option below the resolution and turn it down to 1440 and test that.
Finally got around to debloating NVIDA driver, and once again found that if you are CPU bound reducing number of NVIDA container (from 4 to 2) has non-detectable FPS effect.
@@2020fsers Agreed! I get stutters (still) on almost every approach to a "large detailed airport" and the debloating helped. But since by frame rate seems to be always CPU bound I've been more focused on RENDER SCALING, TERRIN LEVEL OF DETAIL, OBJECTS LEVEL OF DETAIL and AMBIENT OCCLUSION...With much Thanks to you and your "Performance Videos"!!
Turning all graphic settings to low will help performance but not on a linear scale it's more exponential meaning once you get to a certain point turn more to low doesn't have as big of impact as when they are on high to medium .
I just added FSLTL to my MSFS and it totally killed all the great increases in FPS by following your suggestions. While FSLTL looks great, I can't take that much of a hit in FPS. If it is really FSLTL causing the problem, are there any specific setting to offset the decrease in FPS. If not, are there any other programs that would provide similar traffic services?
Hey thanks for the comment.. fsltl can hit fps hard with default settings . I reduced the ifr aircraft to 40 and vfr to 10 . The draw distance about 40 miles . That may help you . But play with the settings until it's acceptable.
Lets talk about VR x motion reprojection. Thats the better thingnto VR,nit isnso smoth, is perfect. BUT there is a problem, artefact in objects that is moving, like the propeller. I really would like that you studdy depply to help us. Thanks
Unfortunately motion reprojection is not good at all at least for me in msfs. I've tested on pimax varjo and reverb . Unless you have a rtx4090 and a high-end cpu reprojection will not be good .
Most of these settings practically don't change anything, and having a different configuration can only make things worse. In P3D, I used to spend most of my time trying to maximize the FPS count, but since MSFS came out, I stopped worrying about it altogether and finally started flying instead of tweaking settings. 5 FPS more or less practically doesn't make a difference, and if it does for you, maybe it's time for a system upgrade. There's also a difference whether you're flying VFR with a less complex aircraft over some desert areas or flying, for example, the A320 from Fenix over London.
5 fps matters a ton in VR where most people can't get more than 40 fps. My 7800x3d with 4090 and 32 gigs 6000mt ddr5 is able to get 60+ fps most of the time with all these changes at really high fidelity with zero reprojection.
I just went through all your recent updates and as usual, my graphics improved and my FPS increased. Good and valid suggestions. However, when I shut the simulator down and restarted it the next day, all the changes within MSFS reverted to what they were before the changes. I thought I had just forgotten to save everything, so I went through every change again, making sure I saved everything after every change. But again, when I checked today, they had again reverted to the previous settings and not the ones you suggested. What am I missing??? Cdrbuck
It happened sometimes sometimes I'll spawn in and all of my assistance menus all of my graphics and everything get kind of messed up. And I got to go in and reset stuff.
ok here we go after taking notes I wil try some of these settings on my humble little 2060 and Great News your settings work Awesome but how to turn off the NIS message in the top left screen and it is blue.
@@2020fsers It's great no problems but how to get the little blue NIS message in the top left message to go away thank you and wish I had these settings sooner the stuttering accured after the last msn update but with these new settings it is AWESOMEEEE SAUCEEE
Ok if the nis is in blue then you are not using the nis scaler . It will be green when in use. But if you are good without it just turn it back off. That's what I would do.
Same thing I say with every one of these videos you produce - "how in the %^$@# does he figure all this stuff out". Great work, and thanks for sharing!
4:36 I see you have Microsoft Flight Simulator(Microsoft flight simulator) and Microsoft Flight Simulator (flightsimulator.exe). Does it matter which one I use? I can’t find the you have selected in the drop-down nor can I find it on my Steam Drive. Thanks.
you know what you are the first person to ask this question and caused me to watch the video again and sure enough yes there is 2 msfs applications i think i will need to do some testing on the flightsimulator.exe one . check the box only applications on this computer and that may narrow it down also run the flight sim and it should come up in the recent applications when you search it like i showed in the video.
ok here it is you will use the main msfs file not the exe file once you select the msfs application then it will apply all the settings to the executable and all other folders inside the main folder or application.
"we just need to hit the Ctl F2 keys" and that is where it all turns to shite for most people because the OpenXR menu in VR does not open!!! When will someone explain in detail why and how to solve this issue. Likewise what about SteamVR. Do you or don't you need to have this running? If not how do you exactly open your game in VR if no separate option within your game exists to open said game in VR?
Hello thanks for the comment . I answer a lot of these questions in my vr guide video links are in the description. ua-cam.com/video/leD7pwMMFug/v-deo.html You need to have downloaded the openxr toolkit first . Make sure in the companion it's active. This will not need to be opened again unless you want to make changes. If you have the steam version of the sim is fine. Open the sim from steam and once opened then you can enter vr ctrl tab . Or go to the vr menu and enter vr . Now hit control f2 and the menu should open and you should not be using steamvr it should have entered vr using openxr. In steam make sure that openxr is your runtime and not steam . The openxr companion app will switch it for you. This is the basics unless you have a pimax. But you didn't state what vr headset you are using.
Buen video! Seguire el tutorial a ver que tal. Lo único que confunde un poco es que explicas para VR y para monitor a la vez, eso sumado a que no se ingles es un poco lioso😅 gracias por el video!
thanks for the comment .. check the description for the ultimate vr guide or check the channel playlist msfs fixes . The vr guide is geared only for vr
Saludos!
@2020fsers whats your opinion on using xmp profiles? Reason i ask is because i've been boughtered by ctd since i started msfs2020 a year ago. Even made me stop playing it for a while because it was driving me nuts. I tried turning it on and of but it does not seem to effect the ctd a whole lot, read: i still get them. They always seem to happen when there is not a lot going on in the game, per example on long flights inbetween legs. Or when im in the main menu. Can you show us your bios setting and how to do or uno some overclocks that might ruin the game. Thx for your funy wel educating yt vids.
I do use xmp.mode and have overclocked my ram a little more and runs fine. Overclocking is a test and adjust type of thing and I will not be doing any overclock videos due to systems and you can really mess up something if you don't know what you are doing . I can tell you my ocerclocks if you like but it may not work for you. I get enough backlash from settings videos that doesn't work for some people even tho I put a disclaimer and suggestions on how to fix issues if you experience them. I hope you can understand my position and I dont want to be the reason someone messes up their pc.
@@2020fsers ok good to know it can run stable using xmp. I will start overclocking (again) to the point we're it start to get unstable again. I hope to buy some time so I can save up for a system upgrade. Currently on a 9700k and 2070super 32gb 3200ghz
@@2020fsers thanks man I never knew farmers knew so much about computers! Haha I have followed your instructions and it’s an improvement and has fixed a few issues but I’m still getting a bit of shimmering and washed out objects in the distance. Any ideas? Thanks again
Lol 😅. The only thing I can think of is to turn off the other texture filter option below the quality turn that off and try it. But I don't think you will remove all of the shimmers .
Hello, hi man, thank you by sharing. Can I ask you how many fps did you get normally with this settings win FS? I know it super dependes where you flight, less consider something like Rome with Photogrammetry on. I have a 10700k iMac (the last iMac 27 intel, before apple ditch Intel in favor of apple silicon), it have 128 ram, M.2 2 tera, AMD 5700 PRO XT 16 gb but I use it with an eGPU and a 4090 for Windows and Flight Simulator, but I know egpu is the bottleneck here, this is a temporary solution until I buy all other parts and build a separate machine to hobby/games/vr. But my question is how many fps did you get? Mine, in home, is around 30, some times, 22 or less, some times 38. (Rome/Italy) I'm asking because I need to be sure if I build a 13900k with top specs and put this 4090 on it I will for sure be granted with at minimum 72/90 fps on any major situation. I aim doing the photogrammetry of my City (Curitiba/PR/BR), I'm only 1/3 way done and it's getting super heavy (FPS on most dense positions on map are on 10fps) :( Thank you for your time!
thanks for the comment ... My settings are changing incrementally meaning i didnt go from stock to these settings so i cant say what kind of increase you would get changing from a stock config. i use a 3080ti and mainly vr . but over say jfk in a ga aircraft on monitor at 2k resolution i get around 35fps give or take .
I feel like I’ll get bad performance if I set to native. I have a 4k monitor and a 3060 12GB GPU/5800x3d CPU. I unfortunately have to play at 1080p. 1440p if I’m lucky. Vr? 23 fps most of the time at any resolution.
Yeah a 3060 is not a good pair for a 4k monitor .I It's always a good idea to try to match your hardware together. This way you're able to run at all of your hardware's peak performance. A 3060 won't performed well in V.R either hate to say. A 3070is the lowest I would go and that's for a reverb if you have a q3 or pimax you need a 3080ti min.. in your case I would set the resolution to the best you can and go with that.
hello, this morning i've noticed terrible frames, very unusual, 10-20 range, usually 100-120. i have a 13600 and 4080, i tried your settings and not much changed as far as the fps, but then i changed TAA to DLSS and im back to a kinda acceptable 60-80, maybe you covered it in another video but you didnt talk on that option at all, so im not really sure what i did. but with TAA on the debug counter says limited by gpu and there was 99% usage in the task manager, never seen that in msfs, usually 50-70%, now at 80%, something still not right, but more acceptable, also now switching between cpu and gpu bound w/dlss, but red with lots of spikes. i saw another vid where the person was haulin tail between buildings in nyc and not a single studder, i was bewildered.
would you suggest try these settings with a 2080 super or only the 40 series cards? I use TAA and motion reprojection on it states 23FPS in VR but its smoother than no Reprojection saying 35FPS also image scaling, do you need to adjust rez if you only play in VR on MFS? But as its global this will affect other games? So am i best doing this setting in program settings MFS only?
thanks for the comment .. i don't use a 40 series card so it should be fine my specs are in the description. don't use image scaling in the nvidia panel for vr use the openxr toolkit for that.
@@2020fsersdeberias dejar claro esto en el video 😅 ya te comente que me confundia un poco el video al hablar tanto de monitor como VR y yo tb lo active... you want to hear something really messed up. I have a 4090 and I checked I am on DX12 on windows 10 and the option for me to change to DX12 is on my msfs but everytime I try changing it and apply and save then restart the sim it goes back to DX11. Is this a windows 11 thing and not windows 10?
Hi thx for this helpful video. I am still struggling with PG pop in in front of my ifr aircraft. Especially big cities like Boston, Paris. It looks horrible before PG loads in. Is there a way to fix this. Running an I9 with 4070 RTx and 32 gb ram. My vdsl brings 250 MBit. This should not be the bottleneck or?
hey Michael yes i do use process lasso i have the paid version . i was thinking on doing a video on it but i don't know how many people would actually be interested in it lol. i think it has some great features but its not game changing for msfs.
@@2020fsers I’ve been using it for many years now, I found it imany years back when a streamer on twitch did a explanation video on it. Are you still using the system config setting?
I have an issue I can't seem to figure out. My graphics are good, except when I move the camera. When the camera moves, things get a bit blurry. As long as the camera is stationary, everything is fine. I tried adjusting off screen terrain pre-caching and motion blur, but no difference. I've tried messing around with some other settings in MSFS as well at the nividia panel. Do you have any suggestions?
Not sure what could cause that 🤔. Ok I would restore all the nvidia settings and try again . If that doesn't help reset all your msfs settings to default. And retest
Hello and thank you for all the help which has really improved my results in msfs with regards to frame rates. However I wonder if you or someone here could comment and help me with an issue I'm having with these new settings...? I get flying lovely and smooth and the computer is shutting down and rebooting every time now. My graphics card doesn't appear to be firing up in terms of fans. I'm wondering if I'm getting an overheat but I have been running monitoring software and haven't seen anything obvious. If anyone could help me I would really appreciate it. Thank you very much.
Ok I would start with restoring your settings in the nvidia panel using the restore button and apply. Then retest if you are good than a setting must be causing this . So Adjust each setting one at a time until you find the setting. That's causing you the issue and then just don't use that..
I just set everything up like you said and now I get a screen flickering every time my mouse cursor appears or disappears any idea what is causing that?
ok what i would do is follow what i stated in the beginning . and restore you nvidia panel and retest if its ok then start making changes 1 at a time until you get to the setting that is giving you problems. everyone system is different so simply copy and pasting my settings may not work and its best to only make a few setting changes at a time so you can identify if you have an issue and makes it easy to then pinpoint the error much easier. also make sure to restore the program settings also if you set them up separately from the global settings
@@2020fsers I eventually figured it out. It had to do with the rbar settings turned them all back and it works fine again. The rest of the settings worked out great. Runs nice and smooth now and the colours look a lot better as well. Thanks for the video and the reply 👍
Hi. Im using also a Reverb G2 with 3060 TI GPU and 7600X AMD CPU. When i turn my aircraft around i see the motion shuttering its making me dizzy. its like the frames are not synced and dubbled on eachoter (not sure how to explain) is there a setting te reduce this>?

hey, i have the feeling after changing the UserCfg sharpening value to 0, that the pictures is a bit unsharp. Can i balance this with some other option? Using a 1080p monitor
Thanks so much for sharing the vids and more importantly happy they help out . Thanks for the comment 👍
You are very welcome.. thanks for the comment 😀 🎄
Your welcome . Thank you for the awesome comment 😀
Hi Flyers,
This presenter is the best by far when it comes to getting your settings under control.
Thanks so much I'm glad these vids help out. Great tip as well about the restart.
I almost doubled my FPS from 46 to 80 and as a gamer I didn't believe it to be possible. I should mention that I have pretty powerful PC but I had problems with a 3rd party aircraft but your detailed guidance solved it without visuall sacrifice.❤
That's awesome thanks for the comment 😀
I want to thank you soooooo much!!! I was about to give up on MSFS after having horrible FPS and overall performance. It is now working smoother than ever. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Your setup guides are absolutely perfect and detailed. Great work.
Thanks so much 🙏
These really are quality videos and very useful. Ive been flight simming for over 30 years and at times I still find it baffling!
Thank you for the comment 👍 yes flight simming has its moments 😊

Thanks so much happy it helped . 😊

Thanks for the tip. 😃

That's for the commet... just remember you will always be bound by something. If it's not the cpu it will be gpu .
Your welcome .. glad you sorted out your issues on your system .. thanks for the comment 👍

Thanks for the comment .. try and use taa mode. You can also play around with dx11 vs 12 that may have different effects on graphics .

Thanks for the info . That's strange it should be the other way around lol

Great video very helpful. Can you explain what is Nanovg and why it should be on or off?
Nanovg is a new default setting in msfs mainly for gauges . This is on as default so you shouldn't need to mess with it. It needs to be on for the setting in went over right before I showed this.
Great video as always, my friend! Much appreciated! Do you know if DLSS3 is supported in VR ? Love form Norway ♥♥♥♥♥
Thanks for the comment unfortunately dlss3 does not work in vr 😕

Thanks for this update! Amazing! Would it be possible that you share your system specs to have a reference? Thank you!
Your welcome ... yes I need to post my specs I forgot lol. I use a i9 10850k running 5.1 ghz all core and 32gb ram at 3866mhz and 14clk . 1 tb ssd and gpu rtx 3080ti

Thanks for the comment ... on my system dx12 sux especially in vr I get like single digit fps so I don't use it. The only thing I can tell you is to try it and see for yourself if you do use it try it with and without hags mode . That may also help.in dx12 not dx11 hags always off for dx11.
Hi! Thanks for update. Can you tell a little bit more about "nanovg mode"? What is it doing?
Thanks for the comment ... the nanovg is a new way to render gauges instead of gdi . It's set on as default so if you never changed it then it should be set correctly. Msfs implemented this on su12.
Should I use Dx11 or Dx12 for an RTX 4060 ?
It depends on if you want frame gen if you do then dx12 is what you need
Thanks a lot !!!

I hear you.
Am I correct in saying dlss3 does not offer any benefits in VR?
Dlss3 no benefit in vr and it may cause issues in vr idk because I'm not using a 4000 series card but hags on in vr may not be good further testing would need to be done for that. If I ever upgrade to the 4000 series
Im running a 4000 series and can confirm bo benefits at the moment in VR.
Thank you for the interesting video
Recently discovered that Nvidia experience with its game overlay you can indicate in the settings that you can always see the fps.
Okido, thanks voor a reply :-) @@2020fsers

Hi thanks for this buddy. I don’t understand - if you have a 3080 card how come you are talking about adjusting settings for a 4000 series card? Is a 3090 considered a 3000 or 4000 series card?
I have a 3080ti but I try to give suggestions for all cards in my graphic videos not only what I have . A 3090 is not a 4000 series card .

Btw, great tutorial as usual. Amazing.
Are you using the nvidia panel to change resolution? Thanks for the comment
@@2020fsers yes I am.
Ok don't use that keep that on 4k then and change the in sim resolution and see if that helps if not then use the scaling option below the resolution and turn it down to 1440 and test that.
@@2020fsers thanks. Will do.
Finally got around to debloating NVIDA driver, and once again found that if you are CPU bound reducing number of NVIDA container (from 4 to 2) has non-detectable FPS effect.
It's funny with this one because some areas I had no increase and others I did but the most prominent thing I saw was the reduction of stutters .
@lawrencetwork977 yeah I also get stutters on approach there's not much we can do other than get on adobo lol glad the videos help
Hey mate! if I use vr, isnt better to Turn to LOW all PC Graphics settings, to let squeeze the perfomance in VR only? thanks
@@2020fsers Here is perfect. I love it. Now I can fly happy, Make curves is so smoth. My pc ryzen 7 5800x3d, 4070ti
Thank you for the comment

It happened sometimes sometimes I'll spawn in and all of my assistance menus all of my graphics and everything get kind of messed up. And I got to go in and reset stuff.

21:48 This seems like a bug? Otherwise there would be no point to individual selection of texture resolution. Are you sure this is the case?
I've tested it in the past so please test it for yourself I guess there is a possibility they fixed this issue but I doubt it.
I answer a lot of these questions in my vr guide video links are in the description. ua-cam.com/video/leD7pwMMFug/v-deo.html
You need to have downloaded the openxr toolkit first .
Thanks for the reply and yes I am fortunate enough to have a Pimax Crystal!@@2020fsers

thanks for the comment .. check the description for the ultimate vr guide or check the channel playlist msfs fixes .
Ha! I was literally about to ask you which of your performance tips you still recommend after a bit of a slideshow flight.
Well timing is everything lol 😆 thanks for the comment
What is considered a good FPS in the game these days in VR with a Varjo aero?
Wellll on my system with default ppd around 30 to 40 on ground and up to 50 in the air not sure if that's good but it's what I get lol.
@@2020fsers thanks man I never knew farmers knew so much about computers! Haha
I have followed your instructions and it’s an improvement and has fixed a few issues but I’m still getting a bit of shimmering and washed out objects in the distance.
(Rome/Italy)
I'm asking because I need to be sure if I build a 13900k with top specs and put this 4090 on it I will for sure be granted with at minimum 72/90 fps on any major situation.
I aim doing the photogrammetry of my City (Curitiba/PR/BR), I'm only 1/3 way done and it's getting super heavy (FPS on most dense positions on map are on 10fps) :(
Thank you for your time!
thanks for the comment ...
@@2020fsers looking at getting a 4070 ti in the coming months hopefully.
That will do you much better
hello, this morning i've noticed terrible frames, very unusual, 10-20 range, usually 100-120. i have a 13600 and 4080, i tried your settings and not much changed as far as the fps, but then i changed TAA to DLSS and im back to a kinda acceptable 60-80, maybe you covered it in another video but you didnt talk on that option at all, so im not really sure what i did. but with TAA on the debug counter says limited by gpu and there was 99% usage in the task manager, never seen that in msfs, usually 50-70%, now at 80%, something still not right, but more acceptable, also now switching between cpu and gpu bound w/dlss, but red with lots of spikes. i saw another vid where the person was haulin tail between buildings in nyc and not a single studder, i was bewildered.
Thats really strange turn off data and try it . Maybe server issues
would you suggest try these settings with a 2080 super or only the 40 series cards? I use TAA and motion reprojection on it states 23FPS in VR but its smoother than no Reprojection saying 35FPS also image scaling, do you need to adjust rez if you only play in VR on MFS? But as its global this will affect other games? So am i best doing this setting in program settings MFS only?
thanks for the comment .. i don't use a 40 series card so it should be fine my specs are in the description. don't use image scaling in the nvidia panel for vr use the openxr toolkit for that.
wonder if this would help for the 2060 video card
Im sure it will.
I have a 4090 gpu and a 13900K intel ship with 128 gb ram, and I use pico 4 for VR. If I turn hardware accelerated gpu on it creates heavy stutters.
Hags mode I feel is only good for monitor use and not vr . Only if you want dlss3 . Other than that keep it off
you want to hear something really messed up. I have a 4090 and I checked I am on DX12 on windows 10 and the option for me to change to DX12 is on my msfs but everytime I try changing it and apply and save then restart the sim it goes back to DX11. Is this a windows 11 thing and not windows 10?
That is very strange. Im not sure what to tell you . The only thing i can think of is make sure your config file is not set as read only .
@@2020fsers yup, that was it, thank you.
Awesome 👌
And I can’t change my resolution on my laptop or does this only works for laptop ?
Some laptops are fixed resolution because you can't change the monitor .. this video is for all pcs with the exception of Mac.
is this video usefull for those with RTX 3080 cards?
Yea it should I use a 3080ti
Hi thx for this helpful video. I am still struggling with PG pop in in front of my ifr aircraft. Especially big cities like Boston, Paris. It looks horrible before PG loads in. Is there a way to fix this. Running an I9 with 4070 RTx and 32 gb ram. My vdsl brings 250 MBit. This should not be the bottleneck or?
I'm stupid right now lol what is PG ?
@@2020fsers I mean Photogrammetry. Or in German Bildeinmessung
Oh ok yeah sometimes the servers at ms are not fast enough . You could try and turn up your lod and see if that helps.
@@2020fsers THX for your answer. I figured out that LOD Terrain is not able to bring better PG at all. Must be a server issue
Ok
I'm slightly confused. Are these settings specific to only the RTX40 series? With exception of the HAGS?
No they are not it's for all cards . My specs are in the description.
Do you use Process Lasso Pro at all?
hey Michael yes i do use process lasso i have the paid version . i was thinking on doing a video on it but i don't know how many people would actually be interested in it lol. i think it has some great features but its not game changing for msfs.
oh an welcome to the Captains club !
@@2020fsers I’ve been using it for many years now, I found it imany years back when a streamer on twitch did a explanation video on it. Are you still using the system config setting?
What do mean system.config setting? Im.not sure
@@2020fsers meant system configuration where you manually select windows to run all your cores at startup.
@@2020fsers ok that's not a bad call actually just going to take a bit longer to to work it out but hopefully I will get there in the end.
I just set everything up like you said and now I get a screen flickering every time my mouse cursor appears or disappears
any idea what is causing that?
ok what i would do is follow what i stated in the beginning . and restore you nvidia panel and retest if its ok then start making changes 1 at a time until you get to the setting that is giving you problems. everyone system is different so simply copy and pasting my settings may not work and its best to only make a few setting changes at a time so you can identify if you have an issue and makes it easy to then pinpoint the error much easier. also make sure to restore the program settings also if you set them up separately from the global settings
@@2020fsers I eventually figured it out. It had to do with the rbar settings turned them all back and it works fine again. The rest of the settings worked out great. Runs nice and smooth now and the colours look a lot better as well. Thanks for the video and the reply 👍
@tennodekaizer4470 glad you got it working . So you needed to turn off rebar ? In the nvidia inspector ?
@@2020fsers I had to turn it all back off in the bios. After that it all worked agai6

I use a i9 10850k cpu 32gb ram at 3866mhz and 14clk. Gpu rtx 3080ti undervolted and overclocked. And 5.1 ghz all core all the time .
Hi. Im using also a Reverb G2 with 3060 TI GPU and 7600X AMD CPU. When i turn my aircraft around i see the motion shuttering its making me dizzy. its like the frames are not synced and dubbled on eachoter (not sure how to explain) is there a setting te reduce this>?
do you have pre rendered frames set to 1?
@@2020fsers yes I have.
What is your fps? Are you using openxr toolkit?
@@2020fsers 30 33 ish. Yes using openxr. It seems the vr headset is not syncing with the frames.
Have you tried to turn down all the graphics settings and see if the stutters go away?
Quick question, I see that in VR I cannot activate the “Nvidia reflex low latency”, what can be the reason for it? Thanks 🙏
Is it grayed out? Did you set the pc setting to low latency mode ?
@@2020fsers Thanks for your feedback, i didnt know i need to turn the Nvidia Frame generation off in my PC settings in order to activate the Nvidia reflex low latency in the VR settings. Now is working!

hey, i have the feeling after changing the UserCfg sharpening value to 0, that the pictures is a bit unsharp. Can i balance this with some other option? Using a 1080p monitor
not that i know of you dont want to sharpen up everything on your pc only msfs so you may need to turn it back on.
