I loved this episode so much. Tom seems like such a pure and kind soul. His stories are very interesting and need to be heard. I felt sad when he said he thought he ruined the show!! I'm a new fan of him now.
@@areixable oh please.... why would you feel sorry for wealthy overweight Jewish celebs? They have the money to do whatever they want, I'm over here skipping meals to feed my family, and this dude is a hippo.
What a hell of a guy. Treated like crap by the adults in his life but was more concerned about us listeners being uncomfortable with parts of his stories. Step dad turned his trauma into Tom's trauma and Tom turned it into laughter! Tom you deserve all things beautiful in your life.
Really enjoyed Tom. As a "step" dad im heartbroken over his relationship with his step dad. I've raised my oldest son since he was 2. He's never had the sperm doner in his life and we've never asked anything from him. It would kill me if he felt I treated him differently from his siblings. I love all of my children the same. He's 17 now and I'm really proud of him.
@Dontcreep I hate to make excuses for the guy but I'm hoping most of the fucked up stuff he did was because of his Bi-polar disorder. Back then they didn't know how to treat mental illness as well.
You sound like a good man and an excellent step dad @only_son5040. I'm glad that your step son had you in his life to help raise him and fill the void that his sperm donor "father" created when he skipped out on his responsibility.
Watched every one of Tom's appearances on AYG at least 5 times each and I never would have thought he'd have went through all that. I've laughed at his crazy stories countless times lmao Sending Love all the way from garbage ass northern Saskatchewan.
Great pod. The darker episodes are personally my favorite . Nothing to feel bad about, im sure we all appreciated him opening up like that and talking about his trauma . That’s what this show is all about
I could tell he felt overwhelmed by sharing his story but there are people that go through that kind of abuse from a parent figure and hold that in their whole life. He found a way to let it go and move on. Respect.
30.59 Wow! My dad was the same way! He was a psychopath. And when I told this stuff to my therapist years ago, they were like, do you understand how lucky you are to be alive? He would also kill animals for fun and was a con artist. Like he would set rats on fire outside and laugh as they burned and see the life drain from their eyes. He would threaten me as a child that he was going to kill my pets. 2 of my dogs did mysteriously die. And one of them, the vet literally said that he had been poisoned. He was a huge german Shepard that was perfectly fine the day before, and dying the next day.
Happy Toozdee y'all! Hope my Honeydew family is doing well. I hope each of you has a great week! I also hope everything you're stressing about works out exactly how you want it to and have peace knowing this Mama loves you BIG and is so so proud of you and everything you're doing! You're a good person and you matter. 🫂💚
When he was talking about his stepdad on the verge of committing suicide every month. It made me think of me walking in on my grandpa with a gun in his mouth. Seven or eight. I just remembered seeing him sit behind his desk at his business. And my dad shielding me from seeing him turn the gun at us like he was going to kill us and then kill himself. We only stopped in because we noticed a light on in our family flooring business building. It was just me and my dad. Just seen that one time fucked me up. I can’t imagine going through this once a month.
Wow! What a awesome episode. Thakkar is a legend and brave for openly talking about his stepdad. For anyone who complains about the topics he spoke about, y’all need to grow up.
That’s pretty cool. I’m from Spencer indiana with is 20 minutes from campus at IU. It’s two completely different worlds between the college and the surrounding areas
I'm in Martinsville 15 minutes away and not sure that you can have two more opposite towns then Bloomington/Martinsville 15 minutes away from each other
Tom is like that one kid that everyone went to school with who is funny but also says crazy/dumb shit sometimes bc he can’t control his intrusive comedy thoughts 😂😂😂😂
I always look forward to Tuesday’s Honeydew & Tom’s episode did NOT disappoint👌🏾 Amazing how he survived a psycho parent and turned out to be such a kind soul🫶🏽 Can’t wait to watch more of his standup🤙🏾
Sometimes you are dealt a POS Dad who your Mother keeps from him. There is always a reason, he knows how to make kids, but not actually take care of them. It's the best decision she could have made at the time after getting caught up in his hype. It's also best you never met him, coming from experience.

Tom’s 1st appearance on AYG made me love him instantly. Very funny and underrated guy. Would love to see him on more podcasts.
Love Tom, but can't stand H Foleys face or his absolute gluttony.
@@wakenow1 Uncle Hank is a national fuckin treasure how dare you! Plus he’s down 50 lbs just these last couple months! What gluttonyyyyyyy!!!

My non-bio Dad is my Dad. Thank god they’re not all like this horrible excuse! ❤

Cheers to you my friend for being in the good dad club!! Stoked to see more men stepping up to build decent humans 🤘

Jeez. Did Tom and I have the same step dad?
Ryan Sickler is the white Oprah!
The booze cruse driving lessons and "you are going to creep people out driving slow" comment is colorful picture
He deserves every bit that came his way through a superb level of ignorance to his life.
❤
Toms a good egg
Hope his step dad isn't doing anything remotely close to the new grandbaby as he did to Tom
White Oprah. The great white OP
