Ever had a night's sleep where you wake up and it feels like absolutely no time has passed since you fell asleep, though? I've had two of those in my 29 years. Feels kinda timetravel-ly.
So in real life in earth time travel is happening when you set alarm for 6:00 am and wake up and after a few seconds it's 10:45 am
if you wake up then your alarm for 6:00 am then you closed eye in minute and boom you into to dream or nothing later then you get wake up for 7:00 am or 10:00am

Travelling AT the speed of light would mean no time passes for you, and the journey would feel instantaneous, so in this situation you'd still be 15 years old when you somehow returned. That's part of the problem with things with mass being able to travel at light speed.

A question on the point of wormholes: Assuming you could jump in a wormhole and go back in time 20 years to the younger wormhole, would the grandfather paradox still apply? According to that calculator,
When you are at 100% of speed of light you can go to any distance ( light years)at time 0 seconds and distance covered is 0.
Conclusion:-to a viewer from inside an object at the speed of light feels like it 'teleported' through space because of the time stopped. for a viewer outside observing the object moving ,time passes 1year per 1lightyear of distance.
Wow, really an interesting video, nothing like the content you make nowadays, but just as well crafted and engaging! Little disappointed that string theory never came up though. From my understanding, string theory makes "time travel" possible, as you would be moving to a different universe that happens to be at the time in the future/past, rather than actually moving through time.

Ok heres my theory.. when you travel to the past, you might end up in a vacuum of space because the past earth was already left it's origin location in the galaxy, because our solar system move so fast in space. So travelling to the past is impossible
but if you travel to the past won't you appear when the galaxy was in that location

What you need to remember is that if you time-travel (backwards or forwards) you will find that the earth is no longer anywhere near where you left it.
Exactly which galaxy you happen to arrive in is a matter of conjecture, because you cannot travel through time without also traveling through space (spacetime).
If we time travel a month back we would be randomly floating in space becuase a month back the earth wasnt there and you time travled to the same spot you orignally were at.

It may well be possible to time travel through some natural phenomenon or whatever, but as far as a time machine goes, you would also have to calculate where the Earth was or is going to be at your target time, and considering the Earth is revolving around the Sun, and our solar system is revolving around our galaxy, and that our galaxy is itself is also moving, good luck with that. You could invent some kind of beacon, but that would limit you to only being able to travel back to the beacon and no further, or plan to drop the beacon in the future and you couldn't go any further forward in time than that.

I remember watching it when I was a kid and bonding with the characters without understanding any of the mechanics behind it. But now when I can fully comprehend all the aspects of this genius film, just can't help but fall in love with it all over again.

i experienced time travel when one time in bed i snoozed my 6.00am alarm clock and closed my eyes
when i opened them it was magically 11.00am
in the comic "bob the angry flower" stephen notley (iirc his name) imagines that if we actually could travel at the speed of light, time dilation would be such that we would instantaneously be at the destination, from the perspective of objects not moving anywhere close to the speed of light.
The time it takes to get there would be pretty much the same to the traveler, but this video is saying that there's a further dilation and the travel time would be lessened? would it be instantaneous at the speed of light? could that potentially be teleportation??

Another time travel theory: multiverse theory (changing past events creates a new future, a new universe, where intead of A happening, B happened because you stopped A from happening in the first place) DBZ had this in the form of Future Trunks stopping Goku's death, creating a new reality that he can travel to and from (exept in our universe, traveling to and from means causing the event and then stopping it repetedly). Think of it like this, you go back in time to kill your father, instead of you being non-existant, you still exist, but now you're stuck in a universe that never had you unless you go back in time again to stop yourself, recreating the universe with you in it and... how low is your IQ now?

I dont't know if my train of thought is flawed but for me the Grandfather Paradox isn't one to begin with.
If you managed it to go back in time and kill your grandfather, the "Multiple Universe" theory would kick in, splitting up in one "copy" in which you kill your grandfather, but as a reaction of that you would cease to exist and one where you don't kill your grandfather and everything goes on as if nothing happened.
I could see a multiverse related split, but not the way you described. I would think of the one where the grandfather lived and you were born as being set in stone. And when you travel to the past you're a visitor from the first universe within a universe where you might kill the grandfather, and that universe's version of you just never gets born. I just don't buy into the idea that something can make you suddenly fade away.

The Multiple Universe hypothesis isn't really well enough supported by any evidence to suggest that it's a solution to the grandfather paradox.
It is predicted by quantum mechanics, but it would be near impossible to test. Firstly no one has found a way to travel back in time as far as we know and if they have and they made changes and the theory is true we wouldn't see the effects as they would be on a different timeline in a different multiverse so proving that the theory is true without being able to observe both timelines is near impossible. That doesn't however prove that it isn't true. The weird probabilistic nature of quantum mechanics where certainty goes out of the window and that there is a chance of say finding a particle in a certain position suggests that a separate reality exists in which the particle is in each of the positions. It is very counter intuitive to how we live every day life, but quantum mechanics has been in the development many of the modern day technologies we see and use today, basically everything with a microchip inside it, or LED, which is most things.
Surely events have already happened, even future ones. so while you may want to go and kill your grandfather the fact youre around is proof you were unsuccessful. leaving your grandfather with tales of a weirdo who tried to push him off a cliff in the 1950s.
Essentially time would not allow you to change things.

Old one, it was Dilbert who said he could travel 30 minutes into the future in just half an hour., or was it the other way around. Anyway, its getting used up and not as fun as it was some decades ago.
It’s so possible you are doing it right now. The faster you move relative to everything else you are traveling though Time at a different rate. Going back is impossible but going forward slower “faster” is.

If a person travel from the year 2017 to the year 1970, the past he will arrive in will not be the same past that led up to his existence. The reason is because the time reversal process would occur without him creating differencesthat can become huge enough to totally alterthe past. It would be cool to see what life was like before you were born, or see your past lives. I have heard stuff about people travelling backwards & forwards in time (myself included in past lives), however I would never change the present or completely alter history.

"Time" does not exist. It's only a tool to follow motion of particles of space. You would have to reverse the motion of the whole universe to travel back in time.
And that might adversely affect the space time continuum.
