The Hullavator sits lower which is a plus, but the independent movement of each cradle means I can only place them as far apart at I can spread my arms and maintain the strength to pinch the handle and move the cradles up. I'm 5'4" and I don't have a wide wingspan.. So my 17 foot kayak is supported by cradles that are technically too close together. Still, it works. The MOS Uplift can correct that problem with the crossbar between the cradles that allow the cradles to be further apart than my wingspan, so my kayak is better supported, and the cross bar keeps the cradles steady as you lift and place. But I think the higher profile as a result of J-cradles is a drawback and not necessary. I believe it can be designed to accommodate regular cradles, as the Hullavator does. I also think there's a way to engineer a crossbar onto the Hullavator, removeable, even. I'm working on it...

you DO NOT need a boat adaptor to fit a Kayak to the MOS Uplift unless it is a composite laminated type, the removable rubber sleeves included with the integrated J bars on the MOS Uplift works just fine to tie plastic boats to for transport
