The video where I open up the last 3 pen pal packages I was sent to show you what to put inside and what you could add into or how to decorate your pen pal letters. I also explain some of the ways I found my pen pals: through instagram comments and online friends to using websites like Global Pen friends.
I’ve found it super useful with having at least 5 new pen pals over the past couple of months from countries that had never even crossed my mind! You can tailer it to if you want email friends or just sending post cards to huge box swaps and you can choose locations, hobbies, ages and genders too!

My penpal is in a orphanage in another more pooror country then me so when I write to her I send her little things like bobbles, braclets, hair clips (I make the bracket since it's more specialised feel)

Gibraltar we started talking online then sent letters etc in 2012 and we actually met in London in 2014, and we still send letters, we send each other Christmas presents each year and talk online too!

When I was younger, my cousins (from my mom's side) and I would pair up in groups of 2 and be each other's pen pals for a year, the rules were atleast 1 letter a month, 1 week long stay at each other's homes a year and during Christmas holidays when we all got together at Grandma's house you gave your pen pal a Christmas present and then you choose a new cousin to be pen pals with. For perspective I have 23 first cousins on my mom's side. I loved it, it was fun and it forced you to bond with some of your cousins you maybe didn't grow up with or get to see often. Maybe a fun idea to start of with, not as much pressure as writing to a stranger.

@Mei-Ying, you should try the website 'postcrossing'. It's similar to this, except that you send postcards instead of letters, and you send a postcard to a different person/country each time, makiing it more of a surprise who you might get one from! Love your videos, by the way! Hilja xx
I had many penpals during my teenage years. My pocket money was spent on stamps and airmail stationery. I lost contact with most of them, but I look back very fondly on writing and receiving letters. It would sometimes take weeks to hear from someone across the world - how things have changed. Might have a look at Global Pen friends as that sounds very interesting.

how do you get comfortable with other people having your address?? I am very curious but also a little bit nervous..
You can get a PO box. It's a lot more safe then giveing your address
I get to know them and then I get them to send me a picture of them with a shoe on their head if they're using fake pictures then it's going to be hard to keep up the act

You start with emails.... then after you learn more about a person...you will realize very soon if they are real or fake ! However 99 % of the people out there are only looking for a " texter " not a penpal ! They dont know the difference !

I don't personally know, but I'm sure you can. The website just wants a place for people to be able to send something to you. A PO box or wherever you'd like to put would work I'm sure.
