- El regreso de Big Star en el 93, rescatado de la web, trackeado, editado, sincronizado y remasterizado (el audio es el del CD Columbia) x mi.
Big Star 93 comeback, rescued from the web, tracked and remastered (audio extracted and sincronized from the live album Columbia ) by me.
Some of my favorite music of all time. The sad thing is I have a hard time listening to Big Star in 2018 because it reminds me of a time in my life were I was genuinely happy and as in love as I'll ever be. That era of my life is gone, been gone for a long time, and is probably gone forever. I lead a decent enough existence, but I'll never be able to touch the optimism that I had when I first got into Big Star.
Sublime. If there's such thing as a perfect song, this is it. R.I.P. Alex Chilton.
My drummer introduced me to Big Star in 1999 I think. What a sad story. They drserved better, but the legend lives on. Real art floats to the surface of History.
I love this version! Close to the original but along with the sheer joy of this performance Alex is adding lots of cool little flourishes -- guitar and vocal too. And you get to see Jody's perfect drum part in action.
The way Chilton could wrap you in a thick paste of melancholy , unmatched
Phenomenal! AMAZING performance of one of THE most incredible songs of all time. And Rolling Stone rated it #178 on their "500 Greatest Songs of All Time" List.
They were so ahead of their time!! Can’t believe this song came out in 73?? imagine if this came out in the same era as britpop or just alongside guided by voices in the 90’s… they would’ve been among the best of the best!
Glad this video exists. Glad I got to meet Alex Chilton once at Cleveland's Beachland Ballroom. He was so nice and sweet and courteous talking to me and my brother about Big Star and his thoughts on Paul Westerberg and the Replacements writing the song "Alex Chilton" about him. Alex loved Paul and the Replacements.
Not a better song in the entire rock canon. This could be a collaboration of Brian Wilson and John Lennon.
I personally prefer the version by the Bangles. Their vocals are so much better.
Caught gig in Glasgow QMU(‘92/3): life changing!
Holy shit is this good.
This is a really great version; great vocal audio, power. Love the VHS grade video too. Nostalgia!
i love this original band, chris bell & alex Chilton. genius.
I thought the Bangles were the originators of this song..... but I just found out it was this band that I've never heard of.....it's pretty good!
The Posies !!! What a job…they knew it all about Big Star !!!!
I was there. I can see the back of my head. Thanks for uploading.
A shooting star, gone too soon, shone so brightly, Alex Chilton. Great group, brilliant song.
My gawd they sounded great right from '93.
It is a favorite songs even now. Thanks
