    Thanks for incredible contents you share! Can you design a scenario includes a non-uniform cross-section rod with a disc (inertia) at one end attached to a torsion spring, and find mode shapes of the system (fixed-free rod)? It can be verified with continuous books

    You are using one layer of linear elements for a problem with flexion. This is totally wrong. Even with hourglass control. You should use at least 4 elements in the thickness of the plate. On the contrary you can use quadratic elements.
