I don't really know what my goals are for 2024. I actually love to decorate. My 32 year old son passed away from a sudden pulmonary embolism in June of 2019. I think I cried for 6 months stlraight. My love for decorating has helped me so much. No one knows that pain unless they've been through it. You never get over it. The pain is always going to be there. You just learn to live in a different way. I can lose myself and my thoughts when I decorate. My mind isn't constantly on that day. I was there right by his side in the ER. I don't want clutter but I do want my home and outside decorated. I'm not into being an extreme minimalist. I really don't think people should label themselves. We're all different with different likes and dislikes. I don't consider myself a minimalist or maximalist. I just find a little bit of joy in decorating for the seasons and holidays. I hope whatever your goal is you can achieve it in 2024. Happy New Year.

I took Christmas decor down today New Years Day 😢, I felt like Christmas came and went so quick. I put Christmas up in early November, I just like to enjoy it as long as possible. By NYD, I’m ready for a fresh start, but I too had a hard time taking it down. I left winter items up as I’m not ready for anything Spring yet, not rushing it. My goals are to keep on working out regularly, healthy eating, and read my Bible every day. Praying for some positive changes in our world in the new year.

Hi yes I felt the same way with my Christmas decore I felt overwhelmed so I took it down at midnight after Christmas night then packed away more the next day. Next year I will be "down sizing" lol i put my tree up in December the 1st.. Goals hmm to declutter my home . From Australia 🦘..😊.

One of my new traditions is to do vision boards with my sister and cousins. My sister and I did one for end of 2022 then my cousins joined us for end of 2023. I plan to really focus in on what's on my board. One of the things I'm looking forward to is learning how to operate my new camera.

My sewing goal is going to learn how to use my serger more. I’m going to make a knit top with a knit fabric so I can serge it all. I have no confidence in myself using my serger. I plan on dining up for 2 serger classes.
I also want to paint my gray accents in my house house all black. I have 3 quilts to make this year.

I just love your Christmas tree in that urn. It’s so beautiful. I have been following you for a while & I just love how you decorate. It’s beautiful ! I don’t really have goals for 2024. I always wake up with a list of what I plan to accomplish for the day & try to do that. I will wake up early before work to do it so I feel at peace with my day

I loved your video! I had the same thoughts and feelings as you did when I took my decorations down. I felt sad and could have left them for another few weeks. I decorate my entire 3100 sq ft. home for Christmas, so it takes me a week to put it all away. I am going to do cozy, too, while placing everything back. I have to sell my home eventually this year as it is too large for me to care for now. I'm hoping to find a cozy cottage, wherever I end up, to decorate to my hearts content.

My goal this year is to build my new house. 😊
Our new tradition for Christmas is more family..more family games, more family fun, more family. All of our kids are older so opening presents aren’t a big thing anymore when EVERYONE gets together! It was great fun! We will be paying off our house this year! So excited! And declutter! Lots of it! The older I get the less “stuff” I want to mess with! Since retiring from teaching college, I have more time to focus on practicing gratitude. It may sound cliché, but taking a few moments each morning and evening sets a beautiful tone to everything whether traveling or at home.

I took down the Christmas decor this morning but left all the trees or anything related to winter up. We always have mimosas with brunch, our New Year’s tradition. No New Year’s resolution, but live everyday as if it’s Christmas.

*Winter Vibe* . I'm in the process of taking down X-mas. I like having the evergreens in statement arrangements for winter and I incorporate more of an icy look for Jan./Feb/March with my greenery. The conflict I'm having this year is that I hate the idea of having to re-box only a few vignettes and not having everything put away together. For now, I'm taking away all things specific to the Holiday season; baubles, bows, poinsettia. I'm going to re-configure a few sections of garland for that icy look while still maintaining the earthy warm palette I have going on. Here in Upstate NY, there is currently no snow but it will be here. I like my aesthetic to reflect what is going on outside. I allow myself a few days to sit with the emptiness and allow fresh ideas to come in. I like your approach to seasonal appropriate yet minimal styling. At 56, I don't have the energy I once did, nor do I feel it necessary to style every nook and cranny. A few meaningful moments provide the same high without stressing me out.

Hello…no goals. My failing 92-year old mother is occupying my thoughts, and like Darlene, who lost her son suddenly, decorating helps take my mind off of the obvious. No, no new traditions…my grown kids love things the way we’ve done them for years-they would not be happy if I changed them! 😂. I was happy to put my Christmas away this year…don’t know why, but I blame it on my frame of mind. I’m all cozied up for winter here in WV…still have the winter decor and evergreen wreaths out. I found the planter/urn at home depot. My Christmas decorating video shares how I placed the tree in the planter. I used towels to hold it in place.
