Maybe a silly question, but a stumbling block in my mind concerning a mother and wife making a total consecration to Mary: would making a total consecration to Mary and becoming the slave of Mary in Christ's name, would this conflict with a woman's duty to give from herself to her children and husband? I am in week 2, and something I read in the readings brought up this question. My gut is telling me "no," but I do not know how to articulate the reasoning...any advice would be appreciated...
Not in conflict, it should elevate your service to your family. Mary was and is perfectly obedient to Gods Will. She will never ask or desire anything that conflicts with Gods will. Your vocation is wife and mother; by consecrating yourself to her, you offer your vocation as wife and mother to her, which means to align to being in obedience to God.
So meaning, rather than making the effort to cook healthy meals in service to your family-you would be doing it in service to her. That should give you strength and graces to do what is right in the eyes of God regardless of whether you’re mad at your husband or overwhelmed with the kids. Because it’s not about them or how you feel about them-you’re doing it for Our Lady, in order that she might purify, sanctify, and present it to her son as a perfect offering.
If you were to approach a king on earth you would not be able to go to him directly. You would need someone to bring you to that king. We humble ourselves by accepting Mary as our mediatrix to bring us to Christ in perfection rather than in complete sinful dissary. Christ said, "son behold your mother, mother behold your son." Acknowledge her as your mother and mediatrix. Seek her prayer and complete love and mercy. This will lead us to Jesus.
.This basic and most common analogy you provided is appreciated; however, with King Jesus we can approach him directly. The Word of God (The Holy Bible) says that as children (sons) of God and faith in Jesuswe can "boldly" (with confidence) approach his throne of grace to obtain mercy and grace to help us in the time if need. (Eph. 3:12 and Heb. 4:14-16 New King James Version [NKJV] and The King James Version [KJV]). Not only is Jesus the Messiah (Christ), he is Savior, King, the Son of God, and High Priest; hence there is no need to use a "mediator" or "middle-man" per se; as did our forefathers and ancestors, who could only gain access to The Most High (Almight God) (i.e., Yahweh/Jehovah, El, Elohim). A poignant example of this type of mediation is illustrated in the Old Testament (Covenant) regarding Israel's annual observance of "Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement); whereby, the High Priest, alone, could enter the Tabernacle's "Holy of Holies" to offer a sacrifice for the atonement of his sins and the sins of his household; including atonement for the "Holy Place," then he would make atonement for all the people. (Lev. 16 NKJV). Praise God! I don't have to make an appointment with someone (priest), or stand in line to wait my turn to enter a booth and kneel before a man (priest) and sincerely confess my sins and express my sorrow for having offended God; and intent to repent and avoid whatever/whomever may lead me to sin; with the hope and expectation of receiving absolution from the priest; who in turn will assign a penitential act to perform (I would peradventure to say that the penitential act may or may not be associated with the type of sin (venial or mortal) (Catechism of the Catholic Church [CCC] ,1854). The types of pentitenial acts may involve reading a passage of Scripture and/or reciting various prayers, along with the number of times to recite them. For example, saying the "Our Father" once; and/or saying "Three Hail Mary's;" and/or a combination of prayers, etc. I'm so grateful for having a personal relationship with Jesus and in Jesus' Name I can make my praise, worship, meditation, prayers, petitions, supplications, requests, and intercessions made known to God -my Heavenly Father. I am also blessed and grateful for the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Penance/Confession), and take advantage of it as much as possible. I'm also glad to be part of One, True, Holy, Apostolic; and such an august body of people (the Catholic Church) who love the Lord; and have access to and can take take part of Body and Blood of Jesus (the "Real Presence") in the Sacramet of the Holy Eucharist. If you read the Catholic catechism, "adoration" and "worship" belongs to God alone. I'm Catholic and see how non-Catholics come to their conclusions because many Catholics do more than just honor Mary. They take their devotion to the level of adoration, and adoration and worship is forbidden for us to ascribe to any creature, including Mary. It is reserved for God alone. I honor Our Lady. I understand she's the new Eve, Ark of The Covenant, The Queen of Heaven, Queen Mother, and much more; but we should not take our devotion to the level of making Mary a deity by ascribing to her adoration or worship that's do to God alone. We can honor, venerate, and offer devotion, the same as we can for the angels and saints. Just read the catechism. Personally, I find it disturbing, and like non-Catholics, idolatrous and blasphemous, to see how Catholics elevate Mary like Christ or God the Father. It makes evangelization to non-Catholics very difficult. Besides, I'm embarrassed by how my fellow Catholics engage in this behavior. Just pray and ask God if he's pleased with your "adoration" of Mary. Ask the Holy Spirit to open your spiritual understanding and he will show you the truth.
euphratesjehan I've never seen this adoration directed to Mary, and I've lived in different cities, states, parishes I've visited other countries, too. Never saw Jesus displaced by Mary. If anything, Catholics are losing the ancient veneration to focus entirely on Jesus - or more often, to focus on SJW causes.
Wil liam personal, I read scripture and let the Holy Spirit speak to me about scriptures meaning, instead of interpreting myself like a Protestant or a Jew for that matter.
Mary is not God but without her and her total obedience to God Jesus would not of been able to come to earth. She is is be honored for her obedience to God. Honor your Father and Your Mother
@@paulascott5701 Yes, Mary was sinless and obedient to God through the Graces of God. Jesus would not of been able to come through her if she had sin. With the Graces of God he can prevent one from sinning

Has it done that? Has it exceeded the limits of Scripture? Yes, it has.

of noteb the Lady clothed with the sun. with a crown of 12 stars. Little is said, revealing MUCH GLORY in the Mother of our Lord. Gabriel "Hail Mary Full of Grace" and Elizabeth's child being filled with the Holy Ghost at the sound of Mary voice. and "All nations sshall call me blessed". There really is much more. Her soul doth Magnify the Lord. All in Sacred Scripture! There is much more if you will prayerfully look and ask. I just don't want you to miss out on her immense Value to her Son, hers and our Lord. The early church and apostles knew this ,as even art of those times depicts, as well as writings of the earliest disciples of Christ. Sadly, Mary has been "taken out" of the churches, not later "added in". Please research this. She is Most important to Christ and should be to us as well. God bless you all! Ave Maria!

Juan Pablo Flores It’s biblical,.., Luke 2:34-35 and Simeon blessed them and said to Mary his mother, "Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising of many in Israel, and for a sign that is spoken against (and a sword will pierce through your own soul also),that thoughts out of many hearts may be revealed."
The New Testament refers to condemned souls as "the dead." So you're saying Jesus' mother is in hell. That's risky ground you're standing on. "What about total 100% worship of GOD the Father??" Well, it's in Scripture: "My soul magnifies the LORD." When we praise God through His creation, His glory is magnified. It's not like cutting slices out of a pie to give to someone else. It's loaves and fishes multiplied.
gerald8057 Rev 5:8 "8 when he took it the four living creatures and the 24 elders fell down before the Lamb. Each of the elders held a harp and gold bowls filled with incense, which were the prayers of the Holy ones. Rev 8:3-4 another angel came and stood at the altar holding a golden censer. he was given a great quantity of incense to offer along with the prayers of the Holy One on the gold altar that was before the throne. the smoke of the incense along with the prayers of the holy ones went up before God from the hand of the angel." do you really think that the souls which make it to heaven are dead? Scripture clearly tells us the saints in heaven pray for the saints on earth. they couldn't or wouldn't if they were dead, right?
The Rev. 5-4 speaks of 4 creatures and 24 elders, these are not saints, 4 creatures represents 4 gospels and 24 elders represents 24 Old testament in Hebrew called "Tenach"., and the prayers of earthly saints done according to scriptures is before God. The Rev 8-3/4 , the angels offer the prayers and the answers of God is poured on earth. The prayers of the people who laid their lives for Jesus, is given Rev-6-10. They ask God to send judgment for the people who killed them.
Do you think that the saints in heaven do not talk to God? Did they lose the ability to talk suddenly? Do you not think that God will not listen to their intercession? Mother Mary lived her whole life for the glory of God. And do you really think God is not going to listen to her? Please don’t let your heart be blinded . Dishonouring the Most Blessed Virgin is dishonouring Her son as well. May God help you to understand and see .

Your gut is correct 👍

Because it’s not about them or how you feel about them-you’re doing it for Our Lady, in order that she might purify, sanctify, and present it to her son as a perfect offering.
How do we enter Christ through Mary "in a sense"? What does that mean?
If you were to approach a king on earth you would not be able to go to him directly. You would need someone to bring you to that king. Total consecration to a long dead n long gone human??😲 What about total 100%:Worship of GOD The Father??
The New Testament refers to condemned souls as "the dead." So you're saying Jesus' mother is in hell. That's risky ground you're standing on.
"What about total 100% worship of GOD the Father??" Well, it's in Scripture: "My soul magnifies the LORD." When we praise God through His creation, His glory is magnified.
It's not like cutting slices out of a pie to give to someone else. It's loaves and fishes multiplied.
Wil liam the church is a satanism

Mother Mary is dead and gone and is not be venerated. Dead cannot pray for us. Jesus is living and is mediating for us.
gerald8057 Rev 5:8 "8 when he took it the four living creatures and the 24 elders fell down before the Lamb.
She never died, she was assumed. Death is the cost of sin of which she has none by the grace of God.
