    I had all the ones I could get when I was a kid. Mazinga, Raideen, getter. Always pissed that they weren't engineered like g I joe. Otherwise as collectors items I completed understand the value of these. But won't collect vintage anymore.❤😂 Excellent job 👍

      Yeah, very limited articulation, but still great play value.

    Cool video...i wish sunbow was around when shogun warriors and rom were around they would've been as popular as optimus prime 😊

    I had no idea I was like 15-17 when these came out I believe. As well as like Rom Spaceknight I was 18. And they were all like $20-$25 back then. Which was a lot of money for a toy. Shogun Warriors were huge at least for kids. I think 12'-18" would have sold better too. Thanks for educating everyone about all this info. I went to Okinawa, Japan twice from 1984 and 85. If I only known hoe valuable these would be one day. I would of bought up a few and shipped them back to the US.

      The Japanese originals can be considerably more expensive than the American releases!

    Cool you read my mine! I was thinking of mentioning Shogun Warriors. Marvel comics series, Godzilla and Marvel's own Shogun Warrior Red Ronin.

      It's a cool series, nice Marvel tie-ins also.

    This was GREAT! I had NO idea there were variants like this. When you started the video i didn't see any differences. By the end I can see three completely different figures! thanks for this!

    I saw your short video on these figures and called some of the differences. Never knew the later versions made that many changes from the original.

    Did you know that the chest piece on the first 2 versions is meant to come off and be held in the fist that holds the swords like a boomerang

      I've heard that said, but never seen anyone try it.

    I definitely have version one but unfortunately it has the wrong missiles. They look like the ones from versions 2 and 3 but the fins are not a separate piece. These missiles are one piece. I really hate how Mattel got cheaper and cheaper with each version. Most of the original Popy Machinders are superior to the Shogun Warriors versions. The Unifive reissue of Great Mazinger is cool though.

      @OpenByChance  6 днів тому

      True, the Japanese versions are far superior. Mattel continued to cut corners as the line continued.

      There are a lot of variants with the entire line. Better to save them for individual videos.

    I noticed on your version 1 it is missing the sticker on one of the knees mine is also missing the same sticker on the same knee is this a fluke?

    • @OpenByChance
      @OpenByChance  13 днів тому

      It's common for the stickers on some of these to dry up and fall off over time.

    This guy totally confuses me...i see him name mazinga, mazinger, and i remember him as tranzor z ...i remember a really weird cartoon with a man woman combo villain.

    • @oldschooltommyim
      @oldschooltommyim 4 місяці тому +1

      The first 2 versions were Mazinga on the box version 3 was Great Mazinga, he was called Mazinger Z in Japan with a sequel with upgraded robot called Great Mazinger, there was an Americanized version of the orginal anime in the mid 80s called Tranzor Z that used parts of the sequels animation also.

      The combo villain you mentioned sounds like the one from Gachiman, called G-Force or Battle of the Planets in the US.

    • @robertonline6543
      @robertonline6543 4 місяці тому

      @OpenByChance that's right gatchaman had a he/ she villain too...I think his her name was galactor I think 🤔...I really perfer the battle of the planets version where he was name Zoltan and they him a sister. I gotta admit the mazinger he she villain was way more creepy. Haggar the witch was a beauty queen compared to that mazinger/ tranzor z villain...way too freaky.
