Deb and Gabe print bigass woodcuts on paper!

Deborah Maris Lader (Chicago Printmakers Collaborative) and Gabe Hoare (Hoofprint Studio) team up to print Deb's 7 x 3 foot woodblocks on paper from Hoofprint's giant etching press. Originally printed on fabric during CPC's outdoor Steamroller Printing Festivals, the images were a bit more down and dirty due to weather, dust, and the vast amount of printer's ink required to print on fabric. Some detail is always lost in those circumstances, so Deb cleaned up the blocks and then the two printed them on beautiful gampi and mulberry papers, resulting in clean impressions of both blocks. Gabe engineered a system for printing the oversized block on his slightly-too-short printing press.
