your selection has hit the peak. an ocean going deepwater trawler, owned by a 'mariner' and a naval architect who has some 'sea time' simple practical design and completely suited to her environment the correct amount of thought. well spotted JJ
@Sepi theoretically there is no reason you couldnt put sails on, but imo the boat is so heavy, and the modifications would be so extensive for proper stability, that it would make no sense to add sails. I'm not an expert on boat design and I will never claim to be, but I have done a lot of sailing and this boat would be just about the slowest sailboat in the world if you added sails
Hi,now this is what I call a TRAWLER yacht, there is no comparison with her and the so called trawler yachts sailing under false flags. As a retired UK trawlerman I can appreciate her lines and what she can do.cheers Roly 🇬🇧.
Okay, I couldn’t NOT subscribe. I have become addicted to your reviews of these converted trawler yachts! If only I could afford one! I absolutely love the simple, clean design of the interior of this yacht. I would actually get on a vessel like this to cross an ocean. I could even see living on it full time. I can’t say that about many yachts. Both the cabins and decks offer expansive areas so you don’t feel crowded. You could do so much with all that open deck space. The views from the upper decks must be amazing. Thanks for featuring another fantastic converted yacht!
I would love to see more converted trawlers. I spotted one whilst shooting some footage for my most recent video. Feel free to check it out and let me know what you think 🙌
Whauuu , what a stunning Trawler ! Elena looks like what she is , great conversation , simple and fine in one way ! Thats what i'm looking for , also the price is ok for this class of ship . Need to book flight and check this pearl of the ocean . Many thanks for this nice vid my friend 👍👍👍
Really nice and solid yacht, like her! Although the fuel consumption seems too high for me. The new generation explorer are doing with 50% of her consumption.
all,I can say,is magnificent!Imenjoyed, your commentary, and video.I don’t have the money ,but even,if I did,my health wouldn’t allow me,to have her,nor would my wife.I can’t blame her though, she’s been caring for over ten years, since,a stroke left me, ahemplegic, and bedridden. Thank you for the video
Simple, basic accommodation, but comfortable and fit for purpose. You know that this isn’t a Med grp tart, but a seriously good seafaring vessel. A lot of modern yachts leave me a bit cold, they are just poseurs toys, but this is practical boat that would be a joy to travel on. Me being a clumsy bastard though, I’d be forever tripping going through the doors lol
Beautiful boat. Wish they would have extended the main salon some. That would have been easy to do during the conversion and extra interior space would really add to it. Overall, it's still a great boat for the money. You would be hard pressed to find anything as capable in that price range. I would bet you could even extend that main salon 8 to 10 feet or so and still have an amazing boat for the money.
The only addition for me would be take just a little more of the living space and make a really nice living room area. The upper deck is just fantastic
This is what I would have if I won the lottery, having sailed the length of the Atlantic mostly on the eastern coast of the Americas ,Caribbean included, and all the stormy seas ,that got on our way , it just gives you a better chance of coming back in one pice.and that is a fact, as I am still hear to enjoy life.
If you're up against those big seas (even though you absolutely tried to avoid them), would you prefer to on this trawler conversion or on a triple priced "trawler" named boat?
I mean this in the nicest way, but it's like swatting a fly with a sledge hammer! That girl is built. You said warships, she'll take them on, in style!
Very nice boat. Still has that working boat feel though. Would have liked to see it before they converted it. 2 Things that are major pluses for me (even though I was army - sorry) is the port windows and the knee knocker hatch ways.
when i win the lottery i,m coming for elena, fill it with oreos and ice cream for the grand kids in the carribean except in the stormy no insurance season and explore.
Hey, if you buy a yacht/boat/vessel this size... at a comaparable reasonable prize, you might be thinking of runnng cost of around 100k a year... or so... depending on how many nm you'd cover. A fuel consumption of 6 to 7 litres per nm does indeed sound not too much. Many motor sailers of this size would slurp from 4 to 20 litres, and some luxurious motor yachts burn even more... So what!
Is this a boat or a ship? Doesn't seem to be a clearly defined distinction separating the two. Some would call it a bot. Others, a ship. However, everyone would agree it is quite the capable vessel. And, it is almost affordable. Then again, I'm only talking about the advertised asking price. I can't imagine what it would cost to operate per whatever metric one cared to apply. I'm sure it wouldn't be cheap. Still, a guy can dream, eh?
One of the things I like most about trawler yachts is that they can come and go without raising eyebrows, yet can be very stylish inside. Specs say six guests and four crew. I can't find any illustrations showing the layout better.
What I think and what I can afford are unfortunately two different pair of shoes 😭 My type of vessel, thanks for making my heart bleed. I subscribed anyway 😉

Funny how the hard working class once disdained tools suddenly become objects of pride and luxury. You can bet each one of those beauties were sold by owners whose businesses have been taken down by the same people who are turning those boats into milk cows charter yachts today. At least they still have the decency not to scrape them.

great vessel for a good price was a Fisherman my self and sailed on vessels like this they are good and steady ships, thanks for the video.

I’ve looked at Elena many times on the internet. She checks off many things I would want in a “little ship”. 👍
Her range, combined with her steel hull, steel superstructure and fuss-free interior are definitely big ✅ ‘s
It warms my heart that the old girl gets a second chance at the sea.

Really? How about Project Brupeg in Qld? A fishing trawler of about 80 tonnes in the midst of conversion.

So nice to see a yacht that shares the same age as me. Only she looks a lot better than my 54 years. (:
😂
Beautiful conversion im in awe
Very nice indeed
This is the type of Boat I would be extremely happy with...
I love this boat, and know how to do all the work to restore, just don't have the money. I would love to do the same, what a classy boat.
That is a top conversation. Ocean going trawlers are really great boats for all weather conditions. The price is great too.

No fancy dancy here, just solid, practical, plain and seaworthy.

I was thinking exactly the same, there's plenty of room to extend the salon & still have a big aft deck, that's what I would do👍✌️
The only addition for me would be take just a little more of the living space and make a really nice living room area. The upper deck is just fantastic

I don't know much about boats, yachts and ships but I do enjoy Robust Technology. This "Trawler Yacht" is HARDCORE 👍😏👍

It’s more fun too 😀🙌

A great way to get get a exploring yacht at a fraction of the price
Pretty close to perfect.
What upgrades would she need
Wow she’s a buy I’d say
This one of a select few smaller all weather M/Y's I would dare head out to sea toting my family. Appears to be much stouter than a 58 Fleming.

this would be GREAT, enough space to rigg up wirdsurfsails... unfortunately I dont see any bathing platform at the stern?
It is prefect
I spent 4 1/2 years on trawlers and seiners out of Thyborøn and Grimsby.
You must have seen some big 🌊🌊🌊
I want to travel aboard a vessel like this from Vancouver BC Canada to Manila Philippines
a real ship.
just the future purchase for the 'like minded ' few with previous deepwater sea time who may consider a shared ownership
Generator?
Water maker?
Brown water tank?
Only 1 head?
Engine room?
Crew quarters?
As I couldn’t get on this vessel I only had limited info
That's a hell of a lot of boat for less than a mil. Do converted commercial boats tend to go for less than equivalent purpose built boats?
is it the old brixham beamer george johanes.
You didn't say anything about the huge rear deck.
Sounds like a great price...too bad I am poor :-)
It’s definitely a lot of boat for the money
Impressive trawler.
If we bunker right now, in Denmark, it will cost 67153,38 dollar. Give or take.
In the UK it would probably cost double that lol - fuel prices are ridiculous. Thanks for watching and for leaving a comment 🙌

Hello shipmate ⚓️🇮🇳 welcome to the channel 🙌 what ship do you sail aboard?
Very nice ship, but old technology. No plotter to be seen, for instance. Also probably needs a wing engine for emergencies.

2) it is no an expedition vessel, an expedition vessel need 2 main engines.

Not keen on that wood effect in the bedrooms, it looks like a cheap plywood look.
Odd, no engine room shots.
