All New 2024 DXF 14 and Shop Update

- Introducing the new DXF-14 for 2024. Expanding on the DXF-10 the DXF-14 supports multiple reactor core sizes to accomadate a larger application range in either charcoal or wood fuel modes. There are two core sizes available giving the DXF-14 a range from 200cc on up to 2.5 ltr engines. This unit is VersiFire ready meaning all revisions for the VersiFire are pre existing. You can add on all options at any point after the sale. We will more than likely phase out the DXF-10 as the 14 will be its successor.

No you can not gasify coal in any modern gasifier. They made coal gasifiers back in the day but they were extremely robust and had a crusher at the grate to bust up the spent coal. Coal will ruin in modern gasfieir in a heart beat. This machine is a $6000 dollar machine, this is not a small engine gasifier you need a purpose built charcoal unit for small engines under 1000cc.

Hey Matt, getting ready to build the harbor freight dxf10 for charcoal only, I caught a detail in this video about the restriction addition in the core. Were you saying that’s only needed to run on wood and if I just plan on building the dxf10 for charcoal only I can skip the restriction plate and insulation? And just run it straight through?
Dont copy this gasifier. Watch the ammo box videos and use that as a guide to build the CFX. The DFX gasifier is a wood gasifier first its not a good choice for charcoal as it is a pain in the ass to get the clinkers out. Or hell go on the Drive On Wood forum and look for the Simple Fire Plans.
Unless you are the one who bought the kit. Yeah go ahead and build it. You may want to try both fuels or mixing them. That unit I built for the videos worked best on a mixture of both about 50% and you will want to install the restriction plate.
Been researching over at DOW forum, but you are saying don’t build the DIY harbor freight for charcoal? Ill will experience clinkers? I was going to go with an easier access design and not the ammo box. Something similar to your new dxf14 ash catcher.
Never mind you are not the guy. Go into my library and look for the ammo box charcoal gasifier builds. Use it as a reference and then go to either my forum or the Drive on Wood forum and start a thread and we will help you with your build. The DFX is a wood gasifier first its not meant for charocal its only capable as an alternitive fuel solution and also for training purposed to get new users up and running without worry of tar.
Yeah dont build it out of an ammo. That would work in a pinch but not good for long term usage. Its really just to get someone started and its easy to build. But we can look at alternitives to make this.
There are at least two active builds of new users just like you on the DOW forum. There are 5 or 6 of us helping those guys. One guy started with a FEMA and he is having a hell of time with it. We are going to help him with a new charcoal build.
