Akai Professional has combined their legendary MPC platform with a keyboard workstation for the first time! The new MPC Key 61 is one of the most feature-packed standalone production tools ever produced. Akai‘s MPC changed music forever in the late ‘80s once pop and hip-hop luminaries got their hands on it, and this MPC Key 61 features refined versions of MPC tools with additional pressure-sensitive velocity pads, pad memory, 63 function buttons, and much more. Use the MPC Key 61 as a standalone workstation; a controller/input for DAWs, MIDI devices, or hardware synths; as a sampler; and almost anything else. Plus, it‘s easy to expand the MPC’s storage thanks to a built-in drive bay for solid-state or hard disk drives. Check it out!

I don't need my laptop for this? how much
The Legend who brought the Legendary J-Dilla to the MPC. It's only fitting AKAI blessed us with Amp Fiddler's presence on this new workstation! This is about to be a game changer for sure!!
100%
I played with this Dude on a gig when I was in high school jazz band, he was a 7mile Detroit keyboard legend back then even. Good to see he is still doing his thing.. hope to work with him on a project if I can track him down. The Crunch man be digging this new Akai rig… very nice
I was engineering a recording session with Amp about 30 years ago at Groovesville Studios in Detroit, it was the dead of winter and I had forgotten to turn the heat on in the studio and it was freezing cold. He did the session wearing a winter coat and GLOVES!! This dude is amazing!!
@jlmac39 Whassup Mike! 👊🏾
@@waynebo248 What's up Dude!! I'm still here too, I moved to Southfield 10 Mile and Inkster area still hitting with Newz too!
This illustrates no matter what piece of equipment you get on...you still gon sound like YOU. DOPE🙏🏾🙏🏾
This is amazing.
A complete work station….dream come true really.
It's also more affordable than most workstations.
This was the best MPC Key 61 presentation for me, thanks 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
MPC has brought the Workstations back in the Game Korg Roland Yamaha Kurzweil must up the game with there Sequencers. Im not impress with the cost of the new sounds 549.00 + total for all of them. Best New Video on what you can do with this MPC Key 61. Great update Akai. This is a Win Win for Akai!
Platinum chops and pipes! Clearly head and shoulders above the other Akai MPC Key 61 demos. 👍🏾
This really does shake up the game! Can't wait until the Key88 weighs in!!!
Hey, this is the dude that taught Dilla to use the MPC if I'm not mistaken! A 4sho legend!
Yeah it is💪🏾
Uncle Amp ‼️ #Detroit Legend
This peaked my interest super hard! I use to rock with the MPC 2000 super hard.
RIP Amp Fiddler 🙏
That Was ReFRESHING ! A MUSICIANS SOUL, NEVER GETZ OLD 👍🏽👍🏽
MPC is definitely the best DAW-less recording system - or at least for those of us who prefer to start off with a great drum beat and build out from there. It is sooo versatile and incredibly powerful - but still easy to use!
I was managing a stage at a festival in Melbourne and was scheduled for Amp Fiddlers set.
The man was doing yoga before his set. His presence and energy was on another level. Really really nice humble human being.
Your style is so crazy bro I love it great video
now that is one cool funky track , love it
Amp Fiddler.... Unsung legend. Dope beat! I have an MPC LIVE 2....
He's making me wanna buy this keyboard...SMH. BUT 😁👍🏾!
Oh my God, what a workstation.
Detroit legend right here...
Amp Fiddler is amazing man
I am digging this! Sweet 😋
Are you also digging, that you have to stretch your arms always over the keys to reach the pads? And are you digging that this keyboard has no SD-card-slot like the standalone MPCs. So no hot swapping of samples?
A great video Detroit homie..
This dope on so many levels!!!!!!
Waiting for NI to do something like that with their mascine
Got an MPC One a couple months ago and I've been more productive with music than I've been in a year.
This is fire!!! 🔥
Oh dayum, that jam. 🎧😎 But, I’ve got an MPC Live II. Now what? Thanks for the demo and insight. 🙌🏻
Amp this the man!
I remember seeing amp many years ago here in the UK.. He was dope.
Nice video thank you
Excellent
Pure funk! The legend that gave Dilla his start on the MPC!
Goodness, What an amazing workflow demonstration on this new Akai keyboard, the best I've seen so far 😎😊 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
This keyboard is speaking volumes indeed 🎶🎶🎹🎤🎧🎼
They need to make a 76 or 88 key model for us Keyboard players that record music. I currently still use a Roland Fantom G7 and would love to have this kind of flexibility vs using my Roland SP404MKII like a MPC to record my instrumental beats.
Damn, I'm not even a keys player and I want one...
Dope.
This Demo just sold me to get thanks Bruh
This is gonna take over. Dang I thought i was done when I bought maschine.
It's cool that this has 61 keys. I like for my 'boards to have at least 61 keys.
Damn! What an amazing artist and a pretty damn great set of tools he's working with!!
I think i see my next purchase!
Absolute Legend 👌
What's going on Amp, I'm gonna have to tell Blu out how I saw this presentation and it Blu my my mind back. I'm definitely gonna have to get this thing also. I've gotta link up with you and show you some of this vintage gear I've got also.
Oh shoot Amp Fiddler
RIP Master Fiddler!
Amp discovered J Dilla folks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
dzięki
Could work for me I'm digging it.
Hey great video this one question to ask you about something my son on my keyboard to get the MPC keyboard I have the mpcx is a word freely getting or should I just wait see the bugs out of this machine's going to have I just want to hook that up to my MCC X and be done with keyboards can you help me out
Hey Sen, I would update my X to 2.11 and buy the new plug-in package to see if you love the workflow….That would with a controller you can get the same sounds as the keyboard
Detroit Michigan!!!
best demonstration of this keyboard I've watched
Looks like my MPC LIve 2 is going to airport, backpack and hotel room duty soon.
Amp👊🏾❣️
RIP 💔
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💯
An arranger would make this pretty complete in my opinion.
It has an arranger. It’s called song mode.
It’s a mpc not abelton
@@Chyuuch Really?
@@Diddddu really bro!
Do you use a mpc?
Seems like there is enough space left on the 61 key version to make a 49 key version...1500 would be allright. Msrp is 2200 for the 61, but in shops it will be 1800. So 1500 should be possible for a 49 key.
Is the build all plastic?
Hey Amp!. man i already have a MPC Live 2 but now i see you with this new MPC 61 Key i'll have to try and get it!!!!! Detroit!!!!!
Can you imagine drawing in notes in the piano roll on this lol
I’ve been working on my mpc one with no midi controller last few days in standalone mode
With the touch screen and shortcuts
I dare to say it might be easier and faster than with a mouse in the software once you get the hang of this.
I’m dead serious
I’ve been shocked myself
I had no other choice but to get into it and I might prefer it now after only 2-3 days
@@Chyuuch yea it's dope bro. I just can't imagine doing this with where the screen on this new keyboard lol
@@Elliott.Revell part of my point is, that it seems damn near illogical until you actually try it. I was forced and my workflow on my mpcs will forever be different because of it.
it needs a set of motorized automation faders for the different tracks.
you can connect any class compliant USB midi controller (like Akai Midi Mix or any motorized one if you prefer), and just assign it to the stuff you want to control, then save it as a template. i hope akai makes it like automatic to connect like an apc 40 or a midimix to it and be automatically mapped. that'd be bonkers.
@@redsquares good idea
Does it have a vocal processor/vocoder.
Hi, thanks for your interest! There’s not a traditional vocoder effect built in on the MPC Key, but there are some vocal effects, including a vocal tuner that can do subtle pitch correction or aggressive hard-tuning, as well as a harmonizer that can create up to 4-part harmonies from a single vocal.
Hope this helps a bit - feel free to contact me directly with any further questions, and thanks again!

This is the future... yes it's 2500 bucks but you could literally sell your laptop if all you do is beats and the computer is inside the keyboard. Damn. Give this to Marc Rebillet...!!!
Hell yeah!
On god a rebillet jam on this would be epic.
I get the feeling that he’s a gear dedicated guy tho. Seems like his set up is Taylormade for him
Even tho he could probably do everything he does much easier on the mpc and with the one device
He work with George Clinton so he’s already a legend… Bernie Worrell will smash this machine…rip
You can tell a real musician from the fake one's.
I gave Akai the design for this board without even a thank you, smh, proof is on my channel
This is sooo fonkee, man. Homer-Run!
🛸 #LAZERS 🛸
To have hammer keys tho 🤦🏻♂️
You can’t CUE!!
The universe once again, confirmed I’m on the right path. ✊🏾👍🏾✌🏾🎹🎛
