When EastEnders went off air in 2020 due to the Covid 19 Pandemic the fact they didn’t repeat this as an iconic episode is a crime! This IS the most iconic episode of EastEnders in its 38 year history! FACT!
I think they should have gone the whole hog and shown the entire omnibus to be fair. If you only show one episode of the 4, it’s like showing a 30 episode and only allowing 15 minutes to broadcast. I think the WALFORD PRIDE episode was a poor excuse for an “iconic” episode - where was episode 1 from 1985, what about Den Watts shooting from 1989, Kathy Beales rape from 1988, the Christmas special from 1986 as well (which if I’m correct got 30m viewers)
@@Mattbarson23 Yes they should of shown older episodes from the 80s and 90s. Instead of the 2000s. They could of shown 1. Den and Angies Divorce Papers 1986 2. Dot and Ethels Two Hander 1987 3. The memory of these iconic episodes is ruined by the addition of a secret, unknown twin in 2018. And pointless, too, given that it hasn't been referenced on screen since.
Damn this was dark. The ‘YES I AM’ moment is played off as a joke now but when you watch what happens afterwards it’s no f’in joke. I can totally see both sides here. Kat had a terrible thing happen to her and was given no agency in what would happen after she was pregnant, but man, is she bungling how to tell her daughter what happened. By being too honest, she’s hurting her daughter while she’s struggling to cope with her life being turned upside down and everything she believed was a lie. This is often what real arguments are like. In anger we don’t measure our words of think about how to say something without hurting the other person’s feelings. How devastating would have been for both characters. Well acted also. Damn
The old style of filming, lighting and fashions etc can make people look older. If you look at people in the 80s and 90s television in their 20s/30s they look much older of people of a similar age today.
