Being ‘useful’ and needed as someone with a disability can be a huge thing. We are often seen or feel we aren’t helpful and at worst a burden. So for someone to recognise our efforts and that we can be ‘useful’ and help others can be a huge thing. I love the disability recognition in this and how his disability isn’t who and what he is but obviously has influence on how he does and views things. So I very much get big feelings when she sees him and uses the phrase he is often saying because there is so much behind that and after seeing how h continued to excel and be kind despite how he grew up. I hope they explore that more in coming seasons.
