About cleanse bars - two years ago there were maybe 1-2 on the market in my country, now it's more like 5-7, so definitely they're gaining popularity, but they're not yet "the product that everyone buys". I use one as a shampoo. Unfortunately, some brands write 'shampoo" on the box, when it's actually just a soap bar and that's not what I'm looking for! Definitely check INCI if you want to buy one. If you don't know, cleanse bars (or shampoo bars) are not the same chemically as soap bars. Soaps have high PH and are made of things like Sodium Palmitate, whereas cleanse bars have lower PH, neutral to skin, and are made of sulfates like SLES/SLS/SCS. Cleanse bars are basically dehydrated cleansers or shower gels that you would normally buy in a plastic bottle.
re: the milk hydrogrip line; my money's actually on a glossy liquid lip (like the ones from haus labs and urban decay, just bc of the name of the line). also, i think we might not necessarily see a lot of more affordable dupes from high end brands, but rather dupes with better shade ranges (like the tarte contour, who knew i'd be praising a tarte shade range!!) and i think you are SPOT ON with "sleepy girl makeup"
I feel like we're going to see the return of contouring as a trend (and I think cream contour products will be coming out from every brand just like cream bronzers did this year), plus shimmery/metallic lips seem to be creeping back in too!

I think we’ll see Charlotte Tilbury expand the beauty light wands with more blush shades such as a Walk of No Shame burgundy blush, a berry & a hot pink (which I would LOVE). I also think blush tones are going to be even more lilac, following on from the super popular Dior cool toned blush, just more lilac ❤
For fashion, I predict it will go more 70s... bell bottoms, retro fonts on tees, big hair... it's like the 70s, 80s, and 90s are all clashing together. I see a lot of big, oversized shirts now too, which is more 80s.
This is just a random thought but I think one day ELF will dupe the CT wands. They will have the contour wand and the blushes and the highlighters. But mostly I think they will try to do the Pinkgasm color. And I have been rocking the poof lately. Ive actually been doing it for years just off and on, so it will be nice that it can get its moment back.

I still use lightscapede and love Hourglass. In my 40's I don't need to flash to the moon, on my skin the craters and cracks are on my face not in space. So I need blurring and a shine to cover wrinkles and dry spots.
Indie brands have embraced single eyeshadows since forever, and they still do ! You have to search for the right brands for you & start collecting some singles. I've come to conclude that I don't need pre made palettes anymore because I have them & MORE in my collection of singles. YET, very better 😌 Going to 2023, I'm downsizing my palette collection & collecting more interesting & practical shades .

Haha I just added azelaic to my routine. I am also on a tretinoin journey (8 months in) but wasn't the cure-all I was hoping for. So, here's hoping the addition of azelaic acid gives me the dream skin I'm hoping for!
biggest thing we need for 2023 skincare is less overconsumption and routines being SIMPLIFIED!! Social media brainwashed everyone into thinking you need 10+ steps, and need to hoard so many products at once. And have a skincare shelf of like 75+ products.

I think UD would do a blue naked palette! They've done all the other colors: red, yellow, pink, purple, green, a cool toned one, a smokey one, a warm toned one, a duo chrome one, and obviously a brown one. Blue makes sense to me.

I am 45 and can report that the 90ties are coming back nowadays every five years. I love it as I have my own vintage wardrobe (Jean Paul Gauthier mesh shirts, slipdresses and long skirts, the original Balenciaga moto bags ... you name it). I never cut my really long hair and I am quite tall so this style is really flattering for me. I was never into the slim brow (not each Supermodel had them) but I love a glamourous blowout. And I am looking forward to a bit more matted skin as I do not love all the shiny faces we saw in the last years.
I hope Too Faced comes out with a similar foundation to Peach Perfect! That was one of my favorite foundations, esp because it was the most non-transfer formula I had ever used. I don't pay too much attn to Too Faced anymore, but if they do come out with something like this, I will be checking it out.

I agree there's a trending ingredient or two every year. Azelaic acid will be hyped for oily people, and I think Abyssinian flower Oil will be maybe trending for dry skin folks. It's already popular in Africa and maybe middle East but doesn't seem to be trending so much on American TikTok yet.

A little shimmer is nice but for me glitter is not an every day look. I think it’s partially my age, I feel like I’m trying to look like my daughter when I put it on my eyes. But when I think of glitter I think of the glitter in the Tati Beauty Textured Neutrals Palette. I love that palette but I don’t use the glitter rows. I have been wearing a lot more matte eyeshadow recently with a touch of shimmer in the center of my eyelid.

I permed my hair soooo much in the late 80s/early 90s. I have very straight hair, and it never really took so I gave up. All things come back. I remember when Mariah Carey had her first big hit (Vision of Love) in 1990. I was a junior in college and wanted her hair (and low key voice:) so bad! Also, about bar soap... We were all about the Clinique bar soap! The light teal/green plastic, fancy packaging! It was $10! For soap! LOL!!
I remember those days! Was a sophomore in college back then. Remembering the Cinique soap and the container it came in! I used it religiously back then!
Silky, blurring makeup products would be right up my alley, not the biggest fan of the cream/liquids trend. Yes to fragrance releases from makeup brands, but only if they're not dupes of og designer frags, niche/higher end designer frag dupes on the other hand would be so welcome.
I hope matte skin comes back but I sort of doubt it since it was huge in 2016-2018. The turn to dewy is still somewhat recent and I'm not sure I see it going anywhere just yet. Rough for us oily skinned folks who now have less options but at least those with dry skin have more to choose from than 5 years ago.
Urban decay confuses me at this point, I had been saying since the naked Wild West palette that I wanted them to do a colorful one or a multichrome one but the cyber palette fully disappointed and I haven’t even searched that newish one

Azelaic acid saved my skin. There is a direct correlation with my acne clearing up when I regularly incorporated 10% azelaic acid products in my routine. 👍👍
To me, the poof never goes out of style. I consider it as timeless as the ponytail. It’s great for 2nd day hair when you don’t want to use dry shampoo.
@Excuse Meow Same, only I'm over 50. I have a round face, too, so a pouf or extra volume on the crown of my head helps elongate my round face. I've always loved side swept bangs, too.
I don't know if it will be this year but I think cranberry extract in lip products is going to be a trend. I read an article saying that cranberry in lip balm prevents viruses and bacteria from reproducing when they land on the lips. So I can see that being a big thing.
what do you think about maybe mini palettes, duos and trios for things like eyeshadow? I think that could also be an alternative for brands that may not come out with single eyeshadows.
I’ve been doing the poof the whole time when my bangs grew out. Or kept my side bang. I’m a mom. I’m almost a decade older than you though. And it took me so long to get a side part and a side bang to work in my hair I wasn’t about to let it go. Also, what about the jewel hair cut/style?

So fun! Loll Not a fan of the puff, tbh. I don't think it looks bad, I just think it emphasizes the forehead so much. It looks like a curtain has been lifted and now all I see is the forehead. Nothing else, just the forehead and the puff. As for 'whatever girl makeup', I kinda hate it. So, they're just trying to recreate a normal phenomenon? Where does it stop? Put gloss on your nose to recreate a runny nose? Paint little red dots on your skin to recreate measles? Or a rash? I just can't with these trends and their stupid names, lol. Maybe I don't like that they name them or something. Because that sunburn one, with the blush application, can actually look pretty. So, some do have merit. But in general, I hate them. 🤭
They came out with a blue/purple palette earlier this year, Naked X Robin Eisenburg. Apparently she is an artist whose motif is like sort of alieny space women with blue green purple etc skin colors
Super random but I’d love a deep scalp cleaning. I’ve seen a few videos on this based in Japan and I really think a lot of women here need that service. The focus on dry shampoo over the years always confused me. It’s just sitting on your scalp, yuck! I have also noticed that people want natural healthy hair but the only way to get that is to take care of your scalp.

I have been using bar soap on my body for years. I love it. I would be interested in trying bar facial soap, but I’m worried about it being too dry

I permed my hair soooo much in the late 80s/early 90s. I have very straight hair, and it never really took so I gave up. All things come back. I remember when Mariah Carey had her first big hit (Vision of Love) in 1990. I was a junior in college and wanted her hair (and low key voice:) so bad!
Also, about bar soap... We were all about the Clinique bar soap! The light teal/green plastic, fancy packaging! It was $10! For soap! LOL!!
I remember those days! Was a sophomore in college back then. Remembering the Cinique soap and the container it came in! I used it religiously back then!

Silky, blurring makeup products would be right up my alley, not the biggest fan of the cream/liquids trend. Yes to fragrance releases from makeup brands, but only if they're not dupes of og designer frags, niche/higher end designer frag dupes on the other hand would be so welcome.

I hope matte skin comes back but I sort of doubt it since it was huge in 2016-2018. The turn to dewy is still somewhat recent and I'm not sure I see it going anywhere just yet. Rough for us oily skinned folks who now have less options but at least those with dry skin have more to choose from than 5 years ago.
Urban decay confuses me at this point, I had been saying since the naked Wild West palette that I wanted them to do a colorful one or a multichrome one but the cyber palette fully disappointed and I haven’t even searched that newish one
I did not know that Peach Slices was a drugstore offshoot of Peach and Lily, I guess that makes sense! I've been using a lot of their stuff recently, and it's all been working great for me.

Azelaic acid saved my skin. There is a direct correlation with my acne clearing up when I regularly incorporated 10% azelaic acid products in my routine. 👍👍
To me, the poof never goes out of style. I consider it as timeless as the ponytail. It’s great for 2nd day hair when you don’t want to use dry shampoo.

@Excuse Meow Same, only I'm over 50. I have a round face, too, so a pouf or extra volume on the crown of my head helps elongate my round face. I've always loved side swept bangs, too.
I don't know if it will be this year but I think cranberry extract in lip products is going to be a trend.
I read an article saying that cranberry in lip balm prevents viruses and bacteria from reproducing when they land on the lips.
So I can see that being a big thing.

Don't do Alex hrh's "sleepy droop" ... It looks like 💩. I would say just purple or mauve toned dewy eyes, with lower lashes emphasized.
I think contour is gonna come back with highlight but in softer, possibly warmer, way.
I'm ALL for the side swept bangs to return! And I guess I'm either revealing my Jersey girl, or I'm so old that I never stopped doing the poof LOL

what do you think about maybe mini palettes, duos and trios for things like eyeshadow? I think that could also be an alternative for brands that may not come out with single eyeshadows.
I’ve been doing the poof the whole time when my bangs grew out. Or kept my side bang. I’m a mom. I’m almost a decade older than you though. And it took me so long to get a side part and a side bang to work in my hair I wasn’t about to let it go.
Also, what about the jewel hair cut/style?
I haven't heard a single person talk about The Outset from Scarlett Johanson so I'm expecting that brand to close. Same with the JLO brand (maybe).

ELF already duped Houglass powder and liquid blushes like MUFE used to have. Both were great but discontinued.
I just recently got side bangs again 😂 I actually got curtain bangs and didn’t like them on me so I’ve been styling them as side bangs 😂

Not a fan of the puff, tbh. I don't think it looks bad, I just think it emphasizes the forehead so much. It looks like a curtain has been lifted and now all I see is the forehead. Nothing else, just the forehead and the puff.
As for 'whatever girl makeup', I kinda hate it. So, they're just trying to recreate a normal phenomenon? Where does it stop? Put gloss on your nose to recreate a runny nose? Paint little red dots on your skin to recreate measles? Or a rash? I just can't with these trends and their stupid names, lol. Maybe I don't like that they name them or something. Because that sunburn one, with the blush application, can actually look pretty. So, some do have merit. But in general, I hate them. 🤭

They came out with a blue/purple palette earlier this year, Naked X Robin Eisenburg. Apparently she is an artist whose motif is like sort of alieny space women with blue green purple etc skin colors
Super random but I’d love a deep scalp cleaning. I’ve seen a few videos on this based in Japan and I really think a lot of women here need that service. The focus on dry shampoo over the years always confused me. It’s just sitting on your scalp, yuck! I have also noticed that people want natural healthy hair but the only way to get that is to take care of your scalp.
I believe UD is being pulled out of UK markets. I think that signals trouble for the brand.
When you said the "poof" hairstyle was coming back I screamed 😅😆😆😆 reminds me of Jr. High / highschool.
