    It is definitely a full time job to get those numbers. As a seller myself what helps me a lot is that I offer small edits on files for free to my customers. Like removing a simple background, or changing a color of something. That keeps them loyal to my business.

    It's rare to come across side hustle videos that depict realistic scenarios like this. Additionally, I've been facing difficulties in generating sales because the market seems to be flooded with an overwhelming number of videos promising outrageous claims such as "Make $10,000 a Day." I appreciate your willingness to share this.

      "Additionally, I've been facing difficulties in generating sales because the market seems to be flooded with an overwhelming number of videos promising outrageous claims such as "Make $10,000 a Day."" They always justify this by pointing to one specific website - which has often been around for years. It is like saying you can make 50 million a year from youtube and then showing Mr Beast's income.

    What I have seen by the people popping up all over is that they steal from others or sell things that are copyrighted. Easy until they get caught. I've also seen people pop up but not do anything creative. So good to hear the other side of the story. Crafting is hard work and takes time and personal touch. Hate seeing prospectors pop up with stollen work, work thats not personal and then undercutting those that actually care about crafts and the craft communities. Love your content so far.

    I started designing the beginning of last year as well. I was running a successful sprinkle and edible cake topper business. I made all of my own designs for my edible toppers and saw your shop which inspired me to start making digital designs. I only have 2000 listings so not quite as many as you but it is A LOT of work. I also started out by making everything from scratch using Photoshop & Illustrator. Even with 5 years of digital design experience it still takes me a while to make the designs and put them on mockups. AI has been awesome but like you have said, it has to be unique. I still throw up a few that haven't had much editing here and there but I try to be different than everyone else. I wish I could sell at your level but I don't spend as much on advertising. I set up a FB group a few months ago and have 150 members. Its way way harder than people make it out to be. I am lucky to make around $100/Day. People are crazy to think they can just start up and make $500/Day. Its not realistic at all and honestly discourages people. I know I got super depressed in the beginning but now I just do it for fun. You really are an inspiration though and I hope to achieve what you have some day.

    • @digitallypurposedbailey

    After opening my stores I am working harder than I did with my 9-5 job. I won't deny that I still prefer it over the regular corporate job but man ... its a lot of work and patience...it can take so much time before a design picks up and to get daily sales

    Thankyou!!! all these UA-cam videos are doing is creating a race to the bottom and once again people are working for nothing. Creating digital products is work and can be time consuming. It's amazing you have made the money doing this that you do, thats awesome! The most annoying are the people on ETSY ... the ones creating bundles of 100 designs for $1 UGH its like" Hmm lets see, Im going to just copy and throw up 100 designs and then undercut everyone and sell them for $1" I really miss the old etsy .

      Hi! Thanks so much for watching and so glad to see that others do think the same and I'm not going crazy, lol!! The $1 Bundle thing is soooo ridiculous and just making it worse in the long run; however, many of them have multiple shops they own doing it! So I get they're trying to take the market share with all their shops, but who wants to work like that forever? :) creating 100 products to sell for $1. I totally miss the old days too....my first shop was in 2016 and even then it's just completely different now.

      @@digitallypurposedbailey I assume you are refering to those Australian shops like TaraSparks and TumblerWrapDesigns and I'm sure there are more shop that looks like it's group of people or family running those stores. Like I was the other day they had $1 for all items including bundles with 100/300. I was like what's the point for me even to keep trying. Clearly, they just trying to discourage/kill those newly created shops and have a bigger piece of the market. It's honestly so out of control right now! I was on Erank checking the demand for tumbler wraps and stats clearly shows that there's simply not enough traffic of real customers for the amount of new listining up there.

    • @digitallypurposedbailey
      @digitallypurposedbailey  Рік тому +4

      @@Brutalk1d Yes, there are a few owned by the same people/group that love to do that. But if you watch their stats, they make a chunk of sales in the beginning and they slow way down after a bit because everyone has either bought all the bundles they need or they don't have enough variety. In my experience of someone who has made/sold these....we don't need 100 slight variations of a sunflower designs ;) As for the search stats on Erank for tumbler designs, it's never really shown that there is crazy high search for it...yet many big shops continue to make 100s & 100s of sales a day and it's because the typical customer of these usually needs so many because they're also business owns that sell the physical items and need a wide variety of styles.

    My husband and I opened an Etsy store MagicAtWorkCreations with digital downloads for 20oz tumblers about a month ago. We do a lot of research, but the visits and sales are low for now. We found an Etsy store, that started at approximately the same time, has a similar number of listings that we have, similar designs (although better) ... and more than 2000 sales. One wonders what they are doing differently from us. I got a few answers from your video on what is essential to grow our sales.

It bothered me that I saw so many bad images thrown up on Etsy for digital downloads...
      And these images had massive glaring flaws and were not looked over carefully before posting as a listing.. With that said .I just started Midjourney again, so I will see how it goes.

      So it really depends on the style you're creating. Many of my customers prefer seamless designs where the design meets perfectly (they still have to wrap it correctly) or have it be transparent/white so their is no seam at all and they don't have to worry about lining anything up. They also like seamless because they don't want it looking like completely different images on the back of the tumbler and want the whole effect of it being one image. Hi Angela! Not crazy :) So a lot of shops/designs will sell both variations, straight/tapered. In the beginning of my shop, I decided I would only sell the straight design because it was the only style I had ever physically made myself and I did not want to mess with the tapered templates :) It is totally your choice, I would just specify whether you offer one or the other or both :)

      I think anyone can break into pretty much any saturated market with specific tactics/strategies and like you said, put in the work. When I did start last year, it still was very competitive in this industry and I had no audience, etc. The only thing different this year are the AI tools which allow easy creation and can be an asset to you, but it still takes the work part to rank/market a shop long term. :) Thanks for watching!

Why are they complaining there is Tumbler designs (well they sell really well so why wouldn't you create these?), SVG designs (clearly they have no idea what people use these for), engraved boards or POD products saying it's "dropshipping"... I mean you have to source the boards from somewhere so you can engrave, same like jewelry makers need the stones and materials... and POD is not dropshipping.. They have no evidence of success on Etsy because they haven’t had any. They mislead viewers and tell them what they want to hear, and the replies tend to gush with praise for the clickbait video because those people haven’t found out yet what a grind it is. I have saved this video to come back to later. I’m working on something that we might be able to do a small collaboration on later. I’ll get back in touch when the time comes and tell you about it.
