Pad, the Goggle Straps, and the NVG mount) One pair of Goggles (Smoke and clear lenses) Two MOLLE II Vests 3 combat shirts 2 uniforms 5 patrol caps 2 of the floppy wide brimmed hats (Not sure of proper term lol) 1 Pair of summer boots (that are 4 sizes to big, and are the only thing that doesn’t fit me well) Some of the Patches I own (that my dad gave me are: 82nd Sustainment Brigade 519th Military Intelligence Battalion (Airborne) 525th Military Intelligence Brigade (Airborne) He has been stationed in Korea, Afghanistan, and Kuwait BTW my dad was a Lieutenant Colonel when he retired

No. The ones are okay. I kinda regret getting rid of the only old duffel I had. No, I don't have the new one. Interestingly enough, the new soldiers in my unit get ussied the new multicam chest rig instead of the vest, but still get the ruckscak in the ucp pattern.

I got issued almost everything here. I bought the uniforms. I got issued some more gear in multicam, but I use my own gear I've bought. I'll make a video on them later this week or the next one.

I'm guessing your unit budget was pretty low. Half this shit was outdated before I got out 9 years ago. I don't know your unit sop's, but I basically replaced all of my gear with private sector goodness. Always remember that DoD contracts go to the lowest bidder. AATW
Yeah, after a year of using this stuff, I just started using my own. Used a modified Tactical Assault Panel and an ALICE pack. I've only ever used the MOLLE ruck once. I did get new gear issued in 2019, but I only use the ACH and a pouch or two. SOPs? Yeah, there weren't any.

I don't know your unit or MOS but when I was in, I was doing a lot of humping up and down mountains in shitty places as a grunt, so a new pack was a must. I'd recommend the Tactical Tailor MALICE (modified Alice). Used it for years and still use it today for my more mundane adventures. Mystery Ranch also makes some great packs but I don't know how pertinent that might be in your line of work.

Why I enlisted, I want to kick ass, see combat, make new relationships with people, and give back to my great country. Other people join for financial reasons and the free college and healthcare. Im USMC. My cif issue for a POG, not including personally "seabag issue" gear, amounts to $5k-$6k. My seabag issue (uniforms and required clothing) is around 1500 iirc.
They don’t us OD green anymore. Last time they used it was like the 70s or 80s. After that everything went to desert camo and UCP. OG woodland from the 80s and 90s is way better than the “digital woodland marpat”
John Fitting Hype 33 is obviously bullshitting you. No, you have to turn this bullshit back in to CIF ("Central Issue Facility"). This shit is one of the *many things* you might come to hate about the Army/Marines. You will be issued this shit in those two branches *regardless* of what your MOS is (or the likelihood that you'll ever use any of it. I've talked to people in various MOS's who've told me they've been in the Army for 3 or so years and never yet had to use any of this shit outside of basic training), not only in basic and AIT but also when you get to your unit. I've seen a guy get really surprised that he still had to be issued this shit when he was a 68 E (dental specialist) and not an infantry 11 B. That's the Army/Marines. You may be forced to do PT with this gear. You have to bring this shit with you to the field (another thing that sucks ass about the Army/Marines for many reasons), and you have to do layouts with it. If anything happens to any of this shit, you're getting something called a "statement of charges" which is a fine. I've seen e5 Sergeants lose pieces of their infantry gear, so that tells you how easy it is for something to happen to any of this bullshit. This shit has no serial numbers on it so if it gets lost or *even stolen* (and yes that *does happen* because outside of Army posts there are stores that will buy and resell it), there's *no way to prove whom something was issued to* . This bullshit is one of the *many things* I tell people interested in the military to consider joining the Navy or the Air Force instead of the Army or Marines. The Navy and Air Force don't issue you this bullshit.
