Ahw!!! Thank you Hussain 🙏🏻 That’s so cool that your daughter is being inspired. Who knows she might be sailing around this beautiful world on her own one day! Thank you for inspiring me to keep on making videos 🙏🏻
@@SailingwithThomas Nice to hear we've inspired you too Thomas! I hope she will sail. I was in a sailing club when I sailed my Laser One and Solo dinghies at a reservoir here in England, UK...and I will be teaching her to sail. But I've never been on a yacht on the open seas as yet myself. Will put that right soon. We came across your video and noticed the Norwegian flag as my wife is of Norwegian nationality. Subscribed and will be watching your videos!!
Thank you so much for subscribing and watching 🙏🏻 Dinghy Sailing is the fastest and best way to learn sailing properly. The instant feedback you get and the feeling you build inside you. Started with dinghy sailing myself and still love it and any time I got the chance I grab it and sail ⛵️ I think it’s awesome if you have the possibility to teach your kids sailing at young age. You might even get a very competent crew member for your future ocean sailing. Who knows! All the best and cheers to you and your Norwegian wife🍻
I came here from sophisticated Lady and Captain Rick Moore. Very nice I enjoyed your video! And now I know where to come if I want to party with the Vikings on the boat! Thank you Harlan Kraft Von Texas
Thank you so much for heading over to my channel as well! Much appreciated and also the help from Rick and Maddy to grow my tiny channel. The BE FREE parties are always fun and good energy! So if you ever see BE FREE and the BAR sign is up just head over. All the best and cheers 🍻
Whoha!! That’s so cool 👍🏻 I am so thankful for your message and really hope you reach your goals and can follow your dream! All the best for your future and this new year⛵️
As usual I enjoyed your video. Tom walked by and watched for a few minutes. He said to say hello and tell you how jealous we are. Keep living your dream 😎
Hey Thomas, saw your main sail prep and had some thoughts for you, single handed hacks: instead of disconnecting the main halyard, just put a double length sail tie between the mast and halyard and use it to pull the halyard away from the mast. For the lazy bag, try a loop running parallel to the boom with blocks on each end. Tie the rope together at the zipper toggle and then you can stand on deck in one place and hand over hand the rope slowly to unzip the bag. Hope that helps! Keep having fun!
Hey Stuart! Thank you so much for great inputs! Love it and will definatly look into that zipper things. Have had some solutions with the hayljard but its never been very good. So putting it out on the side have worked pretty well. Its so cool to get great ideas and to learn something new. Thank you for watching and all the best🍻⛵️
Glad I could offer food for thought. I do the halyard trick myself, i take the sail tie to the turnbuckle on the shrouds and tension it. That keeps the halyard off the mast in an easy way. For my dad, I set up a boat hook with a line whipped onto the end so he didn’t have to climb the mast - same idea.
Guess I just enjoy more wind than majority of sailors 😅 It was great fun!! Next Monday I will share my solo overnight sail to Martinique! That was an unbelievable awesome experience 👌🏻💪🏻⛵️
Thank you 🙏🏻 Be Free is a Bavaria 55 Cruiser designed by the famous Naval architect Bruce Farr. Thank you for watching and being here! All the best 🍻⛵️
Yes sometimes she sails pretty well for her size and weight. Bruce Farr design is working very well and just love the twin rudders when its windy⛵️ Thank you for watching 🙏🏻
Hi Thomas, are you planning to go North towards the Bahamas after hurricane season or back to the South Pacific? The Bahamas has Covid restrictions, but they are basically just centered around testing for entrance.
Hi there! My plan is to sail north first for a better angle for my sail down to Panama and the Pacific. Don’t think I will go as far as the Bahamas. St. Martens would most likely be the most northern island I stop this time.
Thank you 🙏🏻In normal times I would not mind taking onboard guests between islands, but now it’s to high responsibility and risk. Entering rules can change overnight and also access can be denied.
I don't speak norsk but as soon as saw the norwegian flag I was like "hopefuly speaks norwegian!!" but nope haha any saling channel in norwegian? I'm starting to learn it little by little
HA HA🤣👍🏻💪🏻 Im sorry to disappoint you😅 I started this channel mostly for my friends and family around the world and figured out it was best to do it in English because transcript takes so much time. Anyway I’m probably one of few speaking Norseman English 🤣 I you haven’t seen Norseman I can recommend it on Netflix 👍🏻 Making fun of Vikings
@@SailingwithThomas hahah yeah I get it, it's a good idea to speak in english, way more audience too. I'm subbed anyway, good video! Hopefuly someday you get tired of english and speak some norwegian hahah See you around!
It would have been cool to see you take the black guy who helped you out 2 * for a hour or Sunset Sail sometimes I wonder why we say all these places but don't interact with any of the people and I'm just saying it's good for your view is to see your Generous Heart Thomas otherwise you look like a rich guy just sailing around showing off his 55 foot boat just saying! Peace and generosity!
Thank you for your feedback George, and also for watching. I get your point and will for sure try to share more of that in the future. You might wanna look at the episode 2020 in 20 minutes where Im also in a local wedding with theese beautiful souls. Please remember that one short video not nessesary shows everything done in a week or two. Also not everyone are comfortable of being exposed in social medias or UA-cam. Sometimes I also just wanna live in the moment and enjoy my adventure interacting with others without a camera rolling. Im sailing a 55 for many reasons but shoving off is definatly not one of them. So im sad if thats the impression people will get out of this, as I see myself as a pretty down to earth normal guy. And definatly not rich. All the best! Stay safe and healthy 🍻⛵️
Im not 100% sure if I understand what your saying, but Im guessing we look the same which is cool! At least both of us enjoy helping others, drinking beer, and share good storries. So we where like good brothers

Single handing a Bavaria 55 - that has to be a tough job.
Its actually not that hard but if something happens it can be a challenge. Maintenance and cleaning is another story not to mention running costs😅
