You know, you hear something like this and all the cares and worries of the day get a little smaller for a little while. Fear disappears. Political turmoil disappears. Nothing matters during that time except this wonderful music. Thank you young man for such a lovely gift.
I'm a 68 year old man learning clawhammer. This video brings me to tears whenever I watch it. I only hope that I have enough time left to play half as good as Lukas.
This is the song that made me want to learn clawhammer, this exact video right here. Now here I am a year later playing clawhammer at little get togethers. Thank you Lukas for showing me something that I learned to love and cherish.
It's the song that's really making me want to take the plunge and buy a banjo...no idea where to start though both in terms of an instrument and how to start learning...I need to though! Glad I'm not the only one =)
I believe this song / melody comes from the Civil War times. You can understand why. It is so soulful and and at the same time so beautiful. Thanks for posting.
I like your name btw, I am a fan of the 1611 but recently I came across this www.catholicapologetics.info/scripture/translations/kjversion.htm They make a solid argument? I don't care for it much since the Bible sold in stores labeled KJV is 99% of the time a 1769 edition, Baptist preachers always go on about the 1611, but they don't have a 1611 no one does XD it's a 1769 labeled KJV
Thank you so much for letting me use audio from your channel in my game! I didn't have to time to add it before the last big update, but i will soon... After searching for banjo audio for ages on youtube, i'll confidently state; you have the best sounding Banjos with an amazing tonal quality! Your incredible playing skills certainly add to that ofc :)
Any idea where one could get the TAB for this? I've fooled around with the tune playing in G but this is a lot nicer. Would love to be able to add this to my repertoire so having the TAB would be wonderful,
For anyone wondering the tuning is Double C
Thanks

Stunning.
It’s also the sound of humanity crying out . So soulful and beautiful.
This is a thoughtful and beautiful arrangement of an absolutely classic song. I especially like the harmonics near the end.

I have tab on my lesson site ozarkbanjo.com/clawhammer-banjo-lessons
Are you playing this on a short scale banjo. Sounds wonderful. You certainly make it look easy.
Would like the fiddle to duet on this lovely tune.
Love it! Do you have tab on it? aDADE?
It’s double c tuning
Nice
Is there any chance i could use some of your beautiful pieces in a mobile game please? I really love your sound!
How about the tabs for this
Hey Thomas,
The tab is up for free somewhere on Banjo Hangout. You should be able to track them down fairly easily.
what key is this in?
Double C tuning. gCGCD
@@courtesyofdickboak Thanks
What is the tuning for this gorgeous piece ?
Double C
Very subtly and sensitively played. Clawhammer banjo's best kept secret is how delicately it can be played
