This guy is the perfect teacher, he goes at a steady pace so everyone will understand, some processes slower than others, and I'm grateful he's doing it slow now I have a full understanding. Impatients is your hell, for not having a heart so everyone can have an opportunity, patience is a virtue TRUST ME.
Great comment!
I don't know why this video received so many dislikes from impatient people. This is free advice and you should be grateful for this helpful gentleman sacrificing his time sharing his knowledge.
I personally found it very helpful. Thanks for your video!
Had to restring my mom's Remington trimmer. Your video was perfect - your instructions were clear enough that I could figure it out even with the minor difference. AND whoever strung hers last had done it WRONG, which no one knew so it went the whole season as a gimpy trimmer. Works great now, thanks.
Why am I never this calm and methodical when performing this task? Inspiring. Thank you.
Thank you for your video. It's been a few years since I have changed my trimmer line and your video was fantastic. Cheers
Glad it helped
your suppose to hook each end of the string in the notches on the spool. then u lock the spool with the notches right next to it.your making a way harder then you have to. great video.
Thanks a bunch for the demo. I just purchased a Fs 90 and it's the first time I have dealt with the autocut. I normally purchase the cheapo trimmers but I just moved into a new home and wanted something that would last. Very excited about my new purchase!!
You're very good at teaching & giving instructions. Thank you!
I appreciated the slow pace of the video it made it alot easier to unerstand, thank you
thanks a million!!! In the middle of brush cutting and haven't a clue how to reload!!! Saved the day. Thanks from Tammi
Great vid mate! Step by step easy instructions. THE best how to vid I've seen. Great effort!

Thanks Dave.
Works like a charm now. It stopped once and I figured, either the wires got jammed or I had them in the wrong holes so redid it and success! Thank you!
Thank you so much! I ran out of line on my Greenworks dual-string trimmer and couldn't find the manual. I got it strung and it works like a charm.
Thanks so much for this vid. My trimmer line kept getting stuck and I just know that I did something wrong, but I just didn't know how to solve my problem. Thanks to your great tutorial I will trim with less frustration now and more effect!

Thanks for Answering my Question. About The Fs85 Trimmer line.
Any time!
My son is applying for college in Norway, I hope he gets in. You live in a beautiful country.
Thanks Mate! Works for Kawasaki KBL23A too.
Helped so much better than any Instruction Manual
Thank you for putting this up and for doing it at a pace that let me follow you. I have a green works trimmer and cold not find anywhere a how to video on how to replace the line. You save me a ton of trouble (my line ran out in the middle of landscaping my yard on a hot day).
Thanks, I appreciate the comments.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I just bought a worx nitro string trimmer because I want to be able to put a brush cutter blade on it. Hate using gas ones and trying to get them started. While I was trying to figure out how to get the trimmer string off of the shaft I ended up winding the string to the Head. There are no instructions anywhere on how to fix that issue. I searched for days on Google and UA-cam for a video but all I could find was how to change the string head on their original model. Your string trimmer was pretty similar and I knew that tab area you were using must have a purpose on my trimmer but didn't know what it was until your video. I'm trying to find a blade kit to work so I can attach a non-worx blade and while I was waiting I couldn't even use the trimmer till I could figure out how to get the string out. So thank you again very much appreciated!
Cheers man for sharing this vid my mum was so happy lol
iScaper1 Awesome video, i got a secondhand trimmer which had no line. I have no clue how to put on a line and i want do do it safely. your video made sure a line is installed and working, im very gratefull! and subscribed!

Helpful. Main thing I found helpful was to wind in the direction of the arrow. Thank you.
G'day mate. Never thought one of my videos would help someone get a promise, thanks for watching and good luck.

Thanks Vincent for the feedback.
@ IScaper : I adapted your explanations to what seemed the most logical way to do it on my Villager (bc 1700 xc) trimmer with great success, you saved the day, thanks a lot! ;-) Now I will pass the knowledge to my girlfriend and her mother so that they can do it to in the case I'd not be there. :-)
thank you for your well explained procedures
Thank you so much from Saskatchewan Canada :)
My Craftsman trimmer doesn't have a knob on the bottom to advance the trimmer line and unfortunately, the line has to be advanced by-hand. If I had known this before purchasing the trimmer, I would not have purchased this trimmer. Very good video!
Good information, thanks for posting.
Thanks mate, you saved me a lot of grief. Good clip.
Nice video! I can reload one of those in about 30 seconds (I have to reload just about every day because I burn through it so fast edging.) I use 2 arm lengths for each side.
Impressive, I guess practice makes perfect.
Thanks, I'm glad the video was helpful.

Я имею такой же триммер и использую черную леску Stihl диаметром 3,3 мм , она самая лучшая из всех , что я пробовал . Конец лески я подтачиваю , что бы установить в катушку .

Thank you Sir! you saved me so much time trying to figure out how to do this by myself.. Much appreciated.

As a newbie to having my own lawn and owning my first string trimmer this really helped! One question: mine has an "auto advance" feature. Do you have any idea how this works or what it means? It says "no bumping" on the box but I have no idea what that means.
Thanks, nice and easy to follow
Thanks ! Going out to try now.
From Norway :)

3.3 mm coverts to .130" which is thicker than the standard size line you get from Stihl. Does it still feed out of the trimmer head ok?

Is there any advice on makita engines?
hey I have a dual string weed trimmer but it doesn't have the divider piece in the spool for both strings to go through and keep them apart and it has one area to wind it up do I use two separate strings or use just one string to restring it up?

Thank you.

Thanks Janis for watching.
You should be able to go to the owner's manual of your trimmers and find the recommended line size there. On my Stihl FS80 trimmer I went to the owner's manual section on replacing the Nylon line and it recommended 0.095" (2.4mm) line for my trimmer.
thank you for sharing this video. This helps me a lot. Can you help me how to replace the blades. I ran out of wires and I got only one blade and I am in the middle of landscaping. Blades are better suitable for my purpose than wires.
You have to unthread and remove the trimmer head from the shaft then install the brush blade with the adapter plate and washers.
thank you very much ... this works
Whatever would we do without tailgates for work benches? LOL!! Good vid--wish I could find one like it for my Robin trimmer.
ghw7192
I agree, Ford should advertise that tailgates make great workbenches.
