They were basically just guiding her! She was so young the labels needed some kinda assurance that the songs would be good. But obviously they were without much help.
A book isn't published without an author's manuscript going through an editor first. It's the same thing here, I think. It never hurts to have someone to bounce ideas off of. Some writers prefer to write solo. Some prefer collaborative efforts. Taylor seems to be one of the latter. It doesn't make her less creative. It's just the way her process is most comfortable for her. I write a bit and I prefer to have someone to help me work through plotting snags, to throw ideas at, someone that I trust enough to say, "nope. Not that." That doesn't mean it's not my work. It just means it wasn't a solitary effort to see the work through. It's also much easier for me to stay on task, as if I'm writing on my own, I'm much more likely to set it aside when I get frustrated and then never get back to it.
I wish Taylor works with Liz Rose again on her next album. ❤
Taylor and Liz
amazing mentor❤
If she is brilliant then why does she need an industry songwriter to help her out ?
She has written songs by herself
because she was still 14 you know. she was not 44. she was still a child
Her label was putting her with people. Look at interviews with all the producers she worked with. They all back Liz up
