In the TV episode Hack Prine was played by real life tough guy actor, writer and even director Leo Gordon! Leo did a stint in San Quentin and was perfect for the role.
I've heard Dillon refer to Chester as his assistant. Never deputy. But sometimes Chester was called on to use his gun. Dillon referred to Festus as his deputy
Speaking only about the OG radio series, Chester is referred to by Matt as his deputy several times throughout the series, but especially in the first season.
@@henrysniper8481 There are plenty of episodes after that one where he takes people in even though he should let them go. Again he can’t pick and choose.
Originally broadcast on July 5, 1954 (the first of the "Chesterfield" episodes). Later adapted for television on May 12, 1956.
Love fun facts like this.
You're welcome! :)
Thank you for the tidbit.😊
My pleasure.

Now that was a good one😊 Thanks bunches
Parley Baer's Chester is the best character on the series. He was a god.
That"s a good story, quite human for Dillon.
As heard on Mondays at 9pm(et).

So sad. This makes the third friend he has killed.
Who needs enemies when you have friends like Dillon!!!
Should've let him go Matt, he's too by the book.
Chester isn't his deputy?
Never. Festus, yes, but Festus had an ultra tough side to him you rarely saw.

Chester didn’t qualify; he was borderline ignorant. Festus passed due to complete ignorance.
Matt didn’t wanna do it to him 😔😔
Dillon has definitely referred to Chester as his ddputy once before, in the earlier seasons.
Matt should have let him go.
I agree. I'm afraid I would have.
Yeah he let some old lady off who killed her husband which also technically would have been murder in an earlier episode. He can’t pick and choose.
@@thegreyavenger2 He had softened by then.

I hope shutting would have been the last resort.
Matt Dillion is the fucking man.
Had to stop listening when the cigarette commercial came on.
