He can read where the ball is going to based on the players direction and hand and there is something called instinct plus wanting to protect your teammates mistakes and the love of touching the ball and making sire it does not fall against his team is all the drive he needs to be like this.

The ball is being blocked on one side of court by two players and on the other sides there are players in the court waiting, so the only way the ball had to escape on their side is by bouncing off the players hand.🙂 This is followed by almost teams.
