Has there ever been heavy metal music that moves your heart and moves you to tears? I don't think we could have created such a masterpiece unless we were a heavy metal band whose members include a classical pianist and a classical ballet dancer.
Great reaction guys. I'm glad you did this masterpiece song. The dancing by Asami with snow falling was perfect with Asami's many years of ballet dance training. The only thing I wish was different is that the guitar solo was longer before Asami comes back with lyrics. I agree Jimmy, M&M are the best guitar duo I ever seen in 40+ years of listening to rock and metal.

Thank you, thank you for reacting to this video. It is one of my top 3 favourite Lovebites songs, although calling it a song just doesn’t quite do it justice. I normally hesitate using this word because it gets overused but this is a masterpiece. Miyako has been studying piano since she was 3 and if you watch the older version of Swan Song it starts with her playing a Chopin etude. Can I say mind blowing? Asami studied ballet and it’s so apparent in this video. The first time I heard this and Midori came in with the acoustic guitar I had chills. I like to draw attention to what Haruna is doing in the last section when Asami comes back in. She’s playing sextuplets on the double kick while alternating triplets and straight eights on the cymbals and on top of that placing the snare precisely on the offbeats. Mind blown! Love you guys! 🤟🙏❤️🩹 And you’re right, the lyrics are amazing!
Miyako is so incredibly talented, a virtuoso and maestro for real. That piano playing while wearing her guitar like a necklace! And choosing that Spanish acoustic against it was a fine choice. Magnificent ! All is perfect in this song : the main riff, Asami's voice, transition, Midori's solo, tempo change at the end and the great ending ! The Tokyo Garden Theater version last week is awesome too with a beautiful snow effect and phone lights during all the song !
Because the album Electric Pentagram came out in winter, Asami wanted a sad winter ballad. Miyako played the acoustic guitar on the studio recording, but Live, Midori has to play it, because Miyako is busy on the piano! 🤘

Yes, these women are beyond belief. Some people say that they’re angels who came to planet Earth in order to save metal. This song is a true masterpiece that could’ve only been composed by Lovebites. The feminine touch of Lovebites into metal is just out of this world. Frozen serenade is just spectacular. Asami did all of this with Mao (lyrics, music, arrangement). M & M add some of their magic as always. Miyako hit the spot with her classical elements... ASAMI studied ballet dancing from 5 yo. to high school (16 yo.), then she was told that she couldn't be a professional dancer because of her height (4'8"), so she began to study singing and went to US to study R&B, Jazz and Gospel...

Well another great Asami lyrics example, she is always positive and usually has an uplifting message within it. There is NOTHING this band can't perform especially LIVE and to do it this well, there are likely few bands that can match this group. Lovebites usually makes epic or masterpiece songs and here you have both all rapped into one great presentation. There may be a few hundred of those (out of millions of songs). A masterpiece is much more. It combines beautiful composition with brilliant execution. It tells a story, taking you through a range of emotions until it overwhelms you. For classical music fans, the iconic example is Beethoven’s 9th Symphony. The best example of something shorter and more comparable to a rock song, might be Ravel’s “Bolero”. Among actual rock songs, I would name “A Day in the Life” by the Beatles; “The End” by the Doors; “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen; “Kashmir” by Led Zeppelin; “Layla” by Derek and the Dominoes; “The Great Gig in the Sky” by Clare Torrey and Pink Floyd; “Starless” by King Crimson; “Ghost Love Score” by Nightwish, and perhaps a few more. Many of the greatest rock groups never produced a masterpiece. Lovebites, in their first five years (before the hiatus) gave us several, and we probably have many more to look forward to. I think this rivals “Swan Song” as their greatest, and this performance has to go down as a high point in rock history.

La Gringa also noticed something about Asami dancing that she guessed but got right, Asami is a classically trained Ballerina. That is why she is so graceful all the time on stage. She came to the States and was told she was too short to make it as a pro, so she returned to singing R/B prior to joining Lovebites. OK, how talented are the Lovebites members? Miyako is not only an excellent guitarist, but also a world-class pianist and composer. Asami can not only sing beautifully, but can also dance as a ballerina. Apart from being a guitarist, Midori also participates in women's bodybuilding competitions. Haruna, the drummer, has a hobby of making miniature items. Miho, former Lovebites bassist, likes to ride long distances on her motorbike. Magnificent ! All is perfect in this song : the main riff, Asami's voice, transition, Midori's solo, tempo change at the end and the great ending ! The Tokyo Garden Theater version last week is awesome too with a beautiful snow effect and phone lights during all the song !
Because the album Electric Pentagram came out in winter, Asami wanted a sad winter ballad. Miyako played the acoustic guitar on the studio recording, but Live, Midori has to play it, because Miyako is busy on the piano! 🤘

Yes, these women are beyond belief. Some people say that they’re angels who came to planet Earth in order to save metal. This song is a true masterpiece that could’ve only been composed by Lovebites. Y mi estimada gringa no pudo contener un poco de lágrimas, y es totalmente comprensible. Yes, that middle section was absolutely mind-blowing. The feminine touch of Lovebites into metal is just out of this world. Frozen serenade is just spectacular. Asami did all of this with Mao (lyrics, music, arrangement). M & M add some of their magic as always. Miyako hit the spot with her classical elements... Unique and awsome on a whole new level. These girls are making metal beautiful again...Gotta love them-best band in the universe right now (along with Nightwish-with Floor lead of course)
ASAMI studied ballet dancing from 5 yo. to high school (16 yo.), then she was told that she couldn't be a professional dancer because of her height (4'8"), so she began to study singing and went to US to study R&B, Jazz and Gospel...

"Burden of time" is a must-see to see Miyako's talent. I especially recommend the live studio version of this song. LOVEBITES has a stable reputation for being the best live. However, it is worth watching a few of the live studio songs they released around 2020-2021. This series, performed in a small studio without an audience, gives you the opportunity to see their outstanding instrumental playing in close-up. I especially recommend "Burden of time" and "Eagle Fly Free (HELLOWEEN cover)".

Tears? Every time. How many true masterpieces are there in the history of rock? A dozen? Maybe twenty, max? I’m not talking about merely great songs. There may be a few hundred of those (out of millions of songs). A masterpiece is much more. It combines beautiful composition with brilliant execution. It tells a story, taking you through a range of emotions until it overwhelms you. For classical music fans, the iconic example is Beethoven’s 9th Symphony. The best example of something shorter and more comparable to a rock song, might be Ravel’s “Bolero”. Among actual rock songs, I would name “A Day in the Life” by the Beatles; “The End” by the Doors; “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen; “Kashmir” by Led Zeppelin; “Layla” by Derek and the Dominoes; “The Great Gig in the Sky” by Clare Torrey and Pink Floyd; “Starless” by King Crimson; “Ghost Love Score” by Nightwish, and perhaps a few more. Many of the greatest rock groups never produced a masterpiece. Lovebites, in their first five years (before the hiatus) gave us several, and we probably have many more to look forward to. I think this rivals “Swan Song” as their greatest, and this performance has to go down as a high point in rock history.

La Gringa also noticed something about Asami dancing that she guessed but got right, Asami is a classically trained Ballerina. That is why she is so graceful all the time on stage.
She came to the States and was told she was too short to make it as a pro, so she returned to singing R/B prior to joining Lovebites.
