Another very enjoyable video, great looking ships and a very nice looking French Napoleonic infantryman. The podcasts with Nick Jellicoe were fascinating and I say this as someone who isn't into Naval gaming. It was really interesting from an historical perspective. Cheers.
Great update once more. For small areas of gloss finish on matt figures, I believe the simple solution would be to paint them as normal, varnish them all over with matt varnish as normal, then paint gloss varnish on to the areas that you wish to be gloss.
@pauljeffrey4054 it's just a bit of a faff, I'll experiment with my AK varnish first which doesn't give a total matt finish and try that, with my Renaissance stuff I just hand varnish the figures but leave the shiny areas unvarnished which works well
Thanks for another interesting update. I also think the recent Jellicoe podcasts were two of your best episodes. I have no real interest in WWI but found the episodes truely fascinating.
Love the idea of using 1/700 ships, although with the price of kits these days it's not so cheap. At least you're not having to pickup battleships and all the associated PE. When you mentioned the broken mast I was going to suggest replacing with brass to give it a bit more longevity but I think you mentioned that was the plan when you went through the Niko kit contents. Have you a video on a summary of your Narvik project, I'd like to hear more?
Hi, I actually find the kits pretty cheap, I can pick up Destroyers and Merchants for between 10 and 15 pounds which is cheaper than a GHQ 1/2400 scale metal ship. I do have Battleships as well 😄 I'll do something on the Narvik Project when I build the table at the moment I'm just getting through the ships 🚢
@theDexMcHenry I did, but the practical aspect of it made it a firm no. Some of the turrets have separate barrels and photo etch detail and it's just going to ping off if handled. The larger ships have a rubber o ring on the bottom of the turrets which keeps them in place and allows movement but I'll keep that for photography 😁
Liking the new ships, and I do like elite miniatures myself
Cheers, Elite just oze old school cool

@ShaunTame-re5us thanks very much Shaun 👍 I really enjoyed doing those two episodes 😀
You cannot beat a good bit of naval. Lovely stuff.
Thanks very much 👍

Thank you, I hope more people listen to them and enjoy them 👍
The ships look great, i will bring your channel to the attention of a gaming friend who has been busily building 1/700 ships with a view to gaming.
Thanks very much Terry 👍
Beautiful piece of art 👍👍
Cheers 👍
Fantastic work on the ships mate, really looking forward to seeing a showcase of the fleets once your done 👍
Many thanks, a while to go yet, but I'm cracking through them 👍
Nice to see a bit of naval. I should really get off my arse and do a video on mine.
@WgCdrLuddite it would be lovely to see some more Naval stuff 👍
The ships are looking incredible.
Thank you

Great video. Love the ships. Will you be at Joy of Six as it’s just down the road for you.
Pete from Baccus has bullied me into being on the panel so I will be there 👍
The ships look great. Have you considered using magnets on the turrets to make them rotatable?
