- Heyyo whats up! Heres my approach on the modern middle part, Curtain bangs kinda haircut that seems to be everybody's go-to nowadays! Every where i go on social media I often see this haircut so i figured id show you guys my approach and how i would style this look. Definitely beginner friendly so try out my steps and let me know how it works for you!

I wore a middle part like for years with the curtain bangs ..fell in place perfectly.. but my bangs required lots of product to stay in place .. the old lady beautician that cut my hair back then would shampoo my hair twice to get the product out only to use more of her fly spray to style it after she cut it.. got to be a pain after few years so one day I told her to skip the hair wash get the clippers and give me high and tight then wash me after .. did better than the barber for a 75 yr old lady .. been wearing that way ever since
man i have a question,do I need to use a clay that has medium hold like Moroccanoil texture clay or do I need some clay with a higher hold for this hairstyle?

Everytime I try and style my hair like this it works out well 2/10 times and horribly 8/10 times. I blowdry then try and put in product but it won't go on easily and it ends up yanking so much hair out...

Its better to have more length so that the barber has more room to work with. I would suggest having atleast 3-4 Inches

My question is will it stay like that until your next haircut
with the way i cut the top, it should last the client a few weeks before it starts being a pain to style, and when that time comes thats when your due for the next trim :)
What is the different between comma hair and middle part?
comma hair is a slight variation of the middle part. insted of having it slick back on a usual middle part, comma hair lets one side of the fringe hang towards the front as opposed to slicking it all back

Great vid, but i was wondering if just the blow dryer would keep the hair in place or if we need to add product.
If you are using a blowdryer, id suggest putting some product prior to drying to prevent the hair from getting frizzy. Airdrying this hairstyle is also good too to get that natural flow look!

6-7 inches on top is plenty of length! Depending on you hair texture i think you can pull it this off with that kind of length

i trimmed about half an inch. it really depends on your hair density and texture, sometimes for straighter hair u might want to keep it longer to preserve the length and allow it to flow without sticking up.

4 inches is a lot of hair but this all depends on your hair texture/density. I find the low-mid taper looks best with these kinds of hairstlyes as it blends nicely to the longer length.

my client roughly had 4-5 inches on top. i wouldnt copy exactly 4 inches because sometimes different hair texture when cut too short stick out. so play it safe and leave it longer, you can always trim more after :)

in my opinion, atleast 4-6 inches could work but again it depends on your hair texture. Having more hair is better especially if you are restyling so that your barber can have more room to work with.

I like to start at the crown to help set my foundation for the haircut. it allows me to have a guide for both sides of the head which is why i started in that direction first!
