The SHUT DOWN video was actually really expensive because it was recreating some of the scenes and props that were in other videos. The tank for example in DDU-DU DDU-DU is a Soviet T-34 and in the tank in SHUT DOWN is an American M48 Patton. The opening scene in SHUT DOWN is a recreated dock from PLAYING WITH FIRE. The money bag trash truck is from BOOMBAYAH. Ther is all kinds of Easter Eggs in the SHUT DOWN video referring to older BLACKPINK videos. The point being is that when they come out with music (which isn't that often) they shut it down. Even in the SHUT DOWN video they eluded to this in the scene with Lisa holding the katana and the "RECORD" behind her breaking.
Yes, and not just their videos, there are many 'in-jokes', and Lady Gaga's referenced on a poster and there's no M/V of that, just some performance videos, AFAIK. Between SD and DDU-DU DDU-DU there are a LOT of little details and trivia that reward careful viewing, not saying the other don't, just amatter of degree. 😄👍😎
Shutdown is like a tribute and reference to their entire record label, that's why it has many stages the same as their other MVs since their contract with the company ended and they are starting a new stage both as a group and individually.
