@ a jumble of objectively cards does not make an objectively good deck. Much less a fun one. I miss when mtg’s big tournaments could be won by people purely getting lucky with a deck that has no reason working
@@RhysticTutor1I’m pretty sure that a bundle of objectively good cards is a value pile, which usually ends up being quite good, though not necessarily fun or even interesting(why I will never play a Grixis shell without a nonthoracle wincon or a five color cEDH deck that’s not Najeela). Generally a value pile is going to be more synergistic and less likely to just brick than, say, my Taii Wakeen deck, which is horribly built with a lot less synergy pieces and removal than I’d like
hrrm can you actually stack that attack trigger on them with that so that even 4 could net you like 15 new tokens? I mean they are both attack triggers.
@@eonaon6914 correct, that's why it's so evil, you can stack them in whatever order you want since they happen at the same time. Even if it didn't work you would still be able to swing your guys at everyone at once
The first two sentences of this video will stick with me literally any time I'm building a commander deck in the future, goddamn. Always a big fan of your "Commander should not have those stupid early rounds where nobody does anything but buildup" thoughts in general though. Thanks.
Real 💯 Ever since incorporating Maldhound's advice of just being more spicy I've found that both my pals and myself have had more engaging games. Attack more, make yourself a target more, create more drama, everyone will be more engaged.
All the Cybermen cards go hard with the thopts. Cyberman Patrol gives all the thopters Afflict 3, then Cybermat is a 1/2 with Skulk that buffs itself after it's unblocked by how many other attacking artifact creatures you have.
Cyberman Squadron is also a Time Sieve Combo piece which is pretty based. Any card that ends the game so we can shuffle up and play again I am in favor for
As a small suggestion, if one likes thopters, I seriously suggest building a Pia Nalaar, Consul of Revival deck. I have one entirely built from my bulk, and it is so amazingly fun.
Every time I build a deck, I build with the idea of each card doing something. Some kind of board movement, some kind of advancement. Hell even Ruxa the vanilla that do nothing advance board and kick ass for it
My friend has a Leonardo deck, it is quite the menace, I just finished putting together a Go-Shinti of life's origin deck(technically a working progress, i still need the Hondens, two more sanctums, and a shrine steward.)
I think my main commander deck is full of cards that the Internet has not adopted for the list as a whole. Doesn't mean they're bad, actually I think they're awesome lol
Cyberman Squad is so good, I put it in Cowboy Gonti and the only thing funnier than hitting people with a team of 1/1 unblockable myriads is getting to myriad the top decks that you stole from them
I like Unwinding Clock Because I run an Artifact deck that has a theme of "Kitchen Sink included" My friends hate me for it, because during a Commander game with more than 2 people, these fuckers play like it is Modern, and so I get to sit there and build while they beat the shit out of each other, and then woops, Nevenyrral's Disk
I build a colorless tribal thopter commander deck and it's one of my favorite decks I've ever build, even though its probably not any good. Its on Moxfield but hard to find
I look up good cards that do X. If I want a card to do a certain thing I will find a good card that does that, but it has to be synergistic with my deck. Sometimes the best card for my deck isnt the best card with that function. Wouldnt make sense otherwise.
No I'm playing artifacts so I can play unwinding clock. I don't wanna win through combat in my artifacts decks. That's a backup plan. I wanna fiddle with my lego bricks till oopsitthe table explodes.
Any chance we can get the subtitles not directly on top of the card text? We don't all know the cards by heart and it's fun to read about the cards you're suggesting. Thanks!
I do use Unwinding Clock in my artifact deck. Bit it's a Breya deck of combos. I flash out artifacts so I can draw cards and play on your turn. And I do my best to keep it short and just win. I could masturbate for another forty minutes, but ..not unless they deserve it.
Love you Mald, but we dont all have to be cave men out here. Clock is like half the mana of any of these things, and getting your tap effects 3 extra times is better than having them be 3/2s in almost every artifact deck.
This feedback was specifically because they lacked enough good tap effects to make it better than having thopters be 3/2s. It was a beyblade charging station with no beyblades in sight.
Day 1 of asking for Bloodthirsty Conqueror, the lord and savior who won me my first prerelease match (I ended up 1-2; this was the second in-person event I ever attended)
Look, Unwinding Clock is a great tool to help my Brudiclad deck keep up with the selesnia players. You wouldn't fault a fellow izzet colleague just a smidgen of tax fraud to dumpster the green players, would you?
Input unwinding clock in my Ygra deck because it’s a super funny tech and it catches people off guard when suddenly my Golgari aristocrats deck is allowed to play on everyone else’s turn
I am still sponsored by CoolStuffInc.com, use code “MALD” for 5% off at checkout so they don’t Get Me!
You say jt like you’re surprised lol
Leonardo building a portal to the Blind Eternities is the alternative history story/AC DLC that we deserve.
you know i wouldn’t be surprised if that happened in AC unironically
That first sentence is unironically some of the best mtg advice I’ve ever heard.
Best commander advice maybe

The edhrec effect fr
Soon all decks will be identical, the glorious evolution is unstoppable
eh you just have to examine the card and evaluate is this good early late or whenever.
@@Awes0m3n3s5 All decks will return to crab. Always.
cybermen squadron belongs in every Myrel, shield of argive deck to give your lil guys myriad
You shouldn't have allowed me this knowledge. I will use it to great effect.
dear lord that is evil, i didn't even realize they were artifacts when i first saw her 😭
Oh god

“I own a eldrazi titan” is still not a deck theme
Davriel, Soul Broker approves of the card being offered and the swears being conditioned
All friends love language is hitting eachother with hammers
How have I never seen graaz, I need that card!
Ok, but that seems very cool
I love the tech
As a small suggestion, if one likes thopters, I seriously suggest building a Pia Nalaar, Consul of Revival deck. I have one entirely built from my bulk, and it is so amazingly fun.
I stopped what I was doing and bought Cybermen.

I don’t play commander and this is a great video
Cyberman squadron blightsteel colossus 👍
Looking good lads!
My friend has a Leonardo deck, it is quite the menace, I just finished putting together a Go-Shinti of life's origin deck(technically a working progress, i still need the Hondens, two more sanctums, and a shrine steward.)
Shout out to my boi Graaz!
He's the commander for my colorless beat down deck 😂
I pulled, graaz fell in love......and made him his own deck. It's so weird
Doomsday needs more love! Build more Doomsday Decks!
I put cards in my commander deck because you say I should put them on my deck, I win games out of spite
Unwinder works pretty good if you're throwing karnstucts/artifact mana sources/counterspells though. Goes in my urza chief artificer deck imo

No, I'm gonna put random cards in my deck based on how cool the art looks
I do what I want. And if I want to put Avacyn in my Light Paws then I will lol

Kill switch and mycosynth lattice enough said
I put mjolnir in my decks, and it was 50 cents. Now it is 13$.
Ria Ivor, Bane of Bladehold roast?
Instructions unclear commenters either bought cybermen or suggested more 'good' cards for decks
Uhm ackshually it’s the blind eternities 🤓
God I cringed writing this
Joke's on you, the internet saying a card is good makes me want to use it even less!
Look...if you're not playing unwinding clock beside mycosynth lattice and vedalken orrery, you have no ever loving business having it in your deck.
Any chance we can get the subtitles not directly on top of the card text? We don't all know the cards by heart and it's fun to read about the cards you're suggesting. Thanks!

I can pull eldrazi and etali turn 3 at the earliest

@maldhound
Fair enough. I guess I hadn't considered a deck that was intended to cheat good artifacts act wouldn't have anything to use them for.
I have stopped using edhrec because of this. high synergy percentages mean fuck all if I don't know why they're there.
But CAN KOZILEK GET IT?

Day 29 asking for Azusa lost but seeking
Go a step further, stop putting cards in your commander deck
Stop putting good stuff cards in your deck and put some thop into /your/ deck list.
The last points exactly why I have Emrakul, Kozilek, and Ulamog in my Roxanne, Starfall Savant deck
