@Marlowe Moon a lot of people like that kind of thing. Which is why it's interesting to me no one's really made an MMO or anything of just "live life in a simple, rustic time", since a lot of people like the idea of it. ...not doing it in real life - a lot of those things are hard work and it's hard to figure out how to grow your own food and all that in amounts you need - but the idea of it is appealing to people, especially now with times like they are. People just want something simple.
OMG, how did I not notice that until now?! I played the game a bunch, and then after listened to the music a lot. I find myself humming or whistling along even if I didn't really know the song, but this one always seemed kind of familiar. *Face Palm*
My wife left me a couple years ago while I was living overseas with almost nobody around me who spoke my mother tongue natively. I bought Breath of the Wild to try to escape my pain. When I got to Rito Village and heard that beautiful clarinet melody, I burst into tears, and when I was done crying, I felt an overwhelming sense of calm. For nearly a month, every night before I'd go to bed, I'd turn on my Switch, travel to Rito Village, and listen to this song on loop until I fell asleep. Tears still well in my eyes the first time I hear it in a long time. This piece of music is a gift.
I understand your feelings. First time I heard it was when I was having relationship issues with the woman I loved more than anything on this planet. It caused me to burst into tears on the first listen. I know how you feel.
Video games like BOTW are a true gift. I played it while deep in grief after losing loved ones in 2020 during isolation. I wish you well and hope that BOTW 2 has the same impact upon us all.
2004 i played and completed The Wind Waker 2020 i just completed Botw It hurts to know how fast time is, but this nostalgic feeling listening now, it is nice to remember some of the good past :)
I've never played botw but I've always been a zelda fan. One of my favorite songs was dragon roost island from wind waker, a game from my childhood I played with my late dad with. It always had his memories tied to the song. I was told to listen to this and hearing that all too familiar melody in there tugged at my heart strings and if I wasn't at work holding it back, I'd have broken down in tears. To the ones who make the music in these games, the ones who create and play them, they have my eternal thanks. It brought back some good memories amid the bad ones
With wind waker being my favorite Zelda game, this really hit me in the feels. How can someone grow to love a series of just frickin video games so much. Sometimes I wish I could be one of those people that just thinks games are games but nah man there’s emotions here
This place makes me so happy. The Rito and Wind Waker are my favorite, and I just have a fondness for birds in general, I guess that's why I feel much more safe when I'm in Tabantha. I don't fast travel a ton in Botw, so I just feel sad every time I have to turn my back and leave the village as I adventure someplace else. I definitely take my time to admire the warm welcome and great view each time I visit.
I love how they made the shaky sound of the instrument, I think they made a pretty direct reference to dragon roost island song 🥺 I hope I’m not the only one that hears that
This is a copy and pasted message from a comment I posted on another UA-cam video, but this song really deserves attention nonetheless so it hardly matters: All of the village themes in this game are phenomenal as well as beautiful in every way whether it be the instruments, atmosphere, or the people of the village that the music is influenced by. This piece right here is a perfect example using the woodwind instruments for the airy mountain vibe of the area, the use of a harpsichord (I only assume this, I am unsure) for the aerial prowess of the Rito, and the string and percussion for the extra homey vibe. Many of the villages in this game have spectacular music, but the Rito village theme has something about its music that soothes my soul
Easily my favorite village theme in the game. The music just makes it so warm and welcoming. Gerudo Village is also really good, but in a badass way; this is just so peaceful and relaxing.
yea, but kinda not. see, ocarina had a sequel literally one year after that and this is objectively the best game ever made (the one in 2000 not 1998) the oracle games are a couple of months from each other phantom and track are 2 years apart and even albw and triforce heroes are in 2013 and 2015 respectively. so ye not really

ALL of the music in this game is perfection. Each piece is impeccably orchestrated for wherever you are & whatever you're doing. I Never get sick of the music even when playing for hours on end.

This is genuinely beautiful. Rito Village is one of my favourite locations in the entire game, and its music is a big part why. I use it for D&D ambience :)
Just look at how fast time goes we now have Tears of the kingdom and I’m just crying of the nostalgia I had because this was my first Zelda game. I’m now a Zelda fan and if I want to I can play all Zelda games. This is truly a masterpiece Nintendo created.
I never liked Rito village’s music or even the village itself, but now as a “veteran” player I honestly love the village and appreciate the music a lot more, it’s so calming
Thank you. This is one of my favorite BotW songs. I love listening to it when I'm journaling, or working on diamond painting. It's so peaceful and helps me concentrate. Sometimes it's just what I need to calm down when my anxiety flares up too. I quite enjoy having this on.
In the beginning when I first played this game, I was very skeptical since I was not a big Zelda fan, only playing one game, Windwaker to be precise. However, after getting to Rito Village/Vah Medoh, my second Divine Beast, I understood that this game had everything I ever wanted, beautiful graphics, a soothing soundtrack, a full world to explore, a multitude of mysteries and puzzles to discover and unlock, and a pretty nice story. This game may not be perfect, but it sure was a really fantastic game overall. While I may be young and I haven't played the many games of my generation, I think I can still safely say that Breath of the Wild will be favorite game for a very long time, if not the best game ever.
got this game 3 years ago and still havnt finsihed it. i loved every second of it and it seems like no time has passed yet i listen to this and the nostalgia hits
Literally like the only Zelda theme I can recognize in this game (and Zora's Domain). Even the "Item get!" sound sounds different, and I don't know how I feel about that.
reading the comments and i can't help but think how nostalgic this song generally is. i didn't play much wind waker, but this song actually reminded me of skyward sword (my favorite zelda game). i'm playing through botw for the first time now, and this song is so far the one that impacted me the most.
Rito Village was the last village that I visited in my first run in botw. I remember that at the beginning I though that It was just a random weird looking place until I got closer and the music started to play. Men It was magical. Botw made me fell in love with video games again.
I honestly didn’t appreciate this theme as much when I played BOTW, but when I played TOTK, this theme hit harder somehow. It’s so beautiful and makes me feel a sense of beautiful nostalgia.
*radio comes on* me: i don't wanna listen to the radio *Looks up Rito Village music* me: whatever i'll listen to this *10 minutes later* me: i'm in love with Rito Village
i hav spent the entire night crying so much cos of intense fear n trauma. i am afraid my soon-to-be boyfriend will do bad things to me n force me to do things i don’t wanna do. i went to rito village yesterday n the music was one of the most beautiful things i ever heard. now am listening to this hoping to fall asleep. it makes me feel like everything’s gonna b ok n he’s gonna take care of me. i love video games
I once ate too much of an edible while playing BotW and I went comatose while in Rito Village. It was so comfortable listening to the music and the ambience of the world. The wind, the birds, the Rito greeting Link while walking up and down the pathways. I’ll cherish that moment until I die
This was the last region I visisted in my playthrough and it was such a nice surprise and relief for me, the calm before the storm of the final battle.
I feel the same way. This sounds like a gift for true fans of the series. The most heartwarming track ever, the best in the history of the series. I always cry and get chills when I listen to it
Everytime I finished playing for the day, I would always sleep on the rito bed till morning, then walk all the way up and stand next to Kass and save just for this song And Kass, I like him too
I kept this music on in the background on my game while I was doing other things. Unintentionally. Then I realized this is actually really good background music
I don't know if anyone else feels this way, but either way, this is it. We all know about BotW2 coming out. Yes, it's exciting, but I'm still playing the original, so therefore, I really don't really care, one way or another. Why wonder about the second, if I'm still loving the first one?
Had this gnawing at my brain for a while now playing windwaker and I just kept associating it to that game but finally I gave in and of all things humming it to Google led me here. Amazing.
As a player I have almost beaten The Wind Waker four times by now. So as you can probably tell I am a huge fan. Witch is the main reason I like this song... you know because it is playing the Dragon Roost island theme. Also the rito... do you spell plural like that or would it be ritos idk but anyways the rito actually originate from Wind Waker too! Oh wow you just got to love The Legend of Zelda series!
When I was playing breath of the wild I never wanted to leave Rito village just because of the music lol
SO did I LOL
yes
Saaaaame! They put WW, OOT and TP in the song and i loved it :D
Same here, and I'm not even driven by the nostalgia of OoT nor WW, still felt like in home, like peace would never leave my body while playing around Rito village.
I took off all my clothes and walked slowly up and down Rito village for two hours.
Nintendo's original music is so good, that if they were just an orchestra and didn't make games, i'd still be a huge fan of them.
me too! :D
They should just do both. If they didn't make games, there goes like half of my favorite games. --there goes like 20 percent of my childhood too lol.
Fr tho

I sometimes think to myself that they sell you music with game included
Seriously one of the most beautiful melodies ever written. Goosebumps every time.
It's a remix of the music from dragon roost island from the wind waker
That doesn't mean that it's not one of the most beautiful melodies ever written!
The best melodies are from Mozart, of all time!!
But this is just gold and I love it

Had this gnawing at my brain for a while now playing windwaker and I just kept associating it to that game but finally I gave in and of all things humming it to Google led me here. Amazing.
10 hour version of Rito Village? What a perfect backing track to watch paint dry (if you know, you know) ;)
As a player I have almost beaten The Wind Waker four times by now.
The chillest song ever made. Bar none.
The guy on that guitar needs to calm down
lol
I do my homework listening to this ngl it makes me 10 times less anxious
this theme remindind me of childhood of emulating games thank you botw (windwaker was my first game in the siries i emulated it)
You can hear the Dragon Roost Theme PERFECTLY at 1.5 speed
Rito Village was my favorite place in the game :3
