almost ten years old, time for a serious updtate...I've used every single riff in this thing...plus we NEED a muted guitar section, you can't play funk without Muted guitar
Man I had this thing sitting around not being used for years and today decided to use it...because of how good electric sun burst is...and im mad at myself for missing out. Its so so so disgustingly funky and gives me a whole world of inspiration...beyond the guitar sounds.. i mean some of those chord progressions ....MY LORD!!! LOL

try Pettinhouse's FunkyGuitar 2,0 for mutes. i love it too (well, all their stuff really:it's affordable and intuitive). I always use the two libraries together, especially when my ineptness doesn't allow me to manually strum a groove idea with Strategy or Music Lab.

Probably one of the most underrated products in NI's library because it serves such a specific purpose. Scarbee magic indeed!
As a guitarist, I must say this is extremely impressive, sure, its not as good as some session guitarists but considering the features of this and the price, its the next best thing. Great job NI.
I wish native instruments would update this instrument. I want to play a chord and trigger that chord progression instead of programming each cord progression one out of time. I wish it was something more like a session guitarist but keeping the same key groove functionality of the original
Gotta give Native Instruments some credit for making all this awesome stuff!
this is a great Library I wish they upgrade it with more Options, controls , switches , Parameters like SESSION GUITARIST edition

wow! I'm so excited to see this. I emailed scarbee 4 years ago and requested he make a funk guitar plugin. He seemed very interested in the idea. I wonder if my suggestion inspired this?
10 years later and its still good.
It would be nice to have an option to use the chord section to choose the chords through midi via playing them instead using pre-chosen chords.
if you go onto the Native Instruments website and look at the funk guitarist product specifically you can look at demo tracks for it, and track 6 is the song playing at the end of the video.
I have to agree, this is the funkiest guitar plug in, I heard so far! It seems that this sounds better then music lab real guitar plug in, and sounds way better! I was looking for something like this, when I cannot get a guitar player to play live because of them not wanting to play anymore for whatever reason, but no more will I need them with this!

@pariahthe i dont use guitar rig but in most audio softwares theres a setting that u can uncheck like in FL studio u can uncheck the "auto close device" that does exactly that, it closes the audio device to othe softwares, if i uncheck it then i can open ther softwares without having to close FL studio

Sure. Just install Kontakt 5 sampler as an VSTi and use this magnificient guitar :)
You must install Kontakt 4 or 5 sampler as VSTi. It's the only way to use that guitar in any sequencer. After this just launch Kontakt in FL Studio and add Scarbee in Kontakt's library list.

oh god.... i'm so happy i purchased komplete 9 ultimate and not just komplete 9 lmao.. i had no idea scarbee had chord progressions. i love NI lol
@HarrysChild some people just dont have gift to play or read real instruments..this is a substitute for those who still love to create good music..

I'm making a future funk using FL studio and SCARBEE FUNK KONTAKT 5.
if this VST can have tap tempo on sustain pedal... it will be great..... I don't see this program can be use in live. performance with out that tap tempo sustain pedal thing
I loved the Scarbee Rickenbacker Bass, but was disappointed with the Sunburst guitar--the inability to actually program my own licks was pretty limiting. Looks like this product is similar to the Sunburst without actual ability to improvise. True?

Do you mean NI Kontakt or Scarbee's guitar? Scarbee's guitar doesn't need any installation - just add it in Kontakt's library list.

I think this is a very interesting development which could be very helpful to quickly go the extra mile. Would I use it for a full lead? Probably not but then again, NI still has their "sample magic" which makes their instruments really stand out; like their Indian Sitar ('North India') for example; an amazing yet quick sound. Fake guitars? Cheap sounds? Lets not forget; no matter how smart or enhanced the instrument is it won't make it impossible to produce horrible stuff. Blame the 'artist' !

@tylerfolio The only limit is your imagination.. This is a very clever and well engineered product. Which again, the only limit is your imagination. They clearly state you can create chords from scratch and everything from scratch. Music, Soundtracks, Shit, I can't wait to get my hands on this!.

I can't use it because my Guitar Rig 4 takes over the sound card and every other audio is muted until I close Guitar Rig... How can I solve that?

Bought Funk Guitarist but hit a problem. Playing 'Live' is fine but when I try and play it using MIDI events in Cubase it's all over the place, missing chords, playing the wrong rhythm. I sent two emails to NI support desk but still haven't heard anything. Any idea where I'm going wrong?

Hummm,....did I hear the narrator say that there's an endless amount of grooves to choose from? Am I missing something or what. It sounds more like one single groove that has been altered in many ways. And also, I've tried to just program my own groove from scratch,....but with no luck at all.
This program is a nice attempt to convince us studio recording software users that this program can do anything a real guitarist can do, but I think NOT....! It's a fun toy to play with, but you keep trying Native Instruments. What we really want is a real program that will actually let us create riffs that we hear in our heads, NOT just one riff you guys think is cool, and altered it a hundred times.
+Anthony Lewis as a software this is pretty standard sounding funk sound. using it currently for a track on my studio and who ever heard this (the unfinished track) were not complaining anything about whether its software samples or real guitar. what more you expect from a sample based software? the point is if it fits with your mix then go on.

This next to Traktor will be a soul- funkhouse blast of gigantic proportions. I mean the floors are gonna explode, gravity will disappear, the air will turn to ecstacy and the club will be shot to the moon... Seriously!!!
I can play guitar, and I can play funk, but I'd still be interested in this program if you didn't need the shite Kore player to run it. The set-up looks intuitive, the samples sound amazing, and the algorithms to control transitions are sweet.
GuitarRig remains the only NI software I use, and that's because it plays nice with Reaper. But trying to run Kore and other progs, and routing it all through Cubase, is a nightmare. I will continue to play my own funk.

The only thing i dont like about it that the chord progression is diferent from the actual keyboard chords ! Lets say i have some rhode chords played in my roll and wanna copy the same chords and paste it in a new roll with Scarbee Funk Guitarist, it just wount play it right. Is annoying
oh this is another "virtual musician" plugin library right!? where you can just play phrases (preset and custom riffs) instead of playing the notes from scratch...
I think native instruments have great plugins but I prefer their synths and standard samplers using my own sample library.
