Exactly!!!! We already paying taxes for them to get welfare section 8. Food stamps etc like shit I didn’t have all these kids it’s like paying child support…. In other countries they don’t have this problem in the United States everyone wants a damn hand out!!!!!
1:49 "or is your priority to shuffle ...", meanwhile... 1:13 "coordinators visited the site at least 51 times... offering housing, mentalhealth and medical referrals.." but 1:33 most declined...
PAAALLLLLEEEEAAAASEEEEE. They were offered housing and assistance since June, as well as today. "Most Declined". I agree that the majority of time, the homeless are simply "Shuffled Around". However, most certainly, NOT THIS TIME. Enough is enough already. Our children were at risk. Give us all a freaking break.
Didn’t cause any problems? I see these guys go into the stores and walk out without paying for them. I guess that’s not a problem. This is why people are moving out.
THe jourinalist did say that these people were offered housing, mental health help,etc..but thye didn't take it because they like to stay in the park and make it a toxic place. I have no cluse why the homeless advocates support these people camping out in a public park and pose danger to others and themselves. It seems to me the homless advocates are expecting these unhoused people put up in a nice hotel like Fairmont or Four Seasons and provided with free drugs/alcohol and a nice massage at the end of the day. Why can't these homeless advocates adopt them, train them to be useful citizens to the locality? Make them do gardening, clean the parks and even work as school crossing guards? The homeless advocates are as useless if not worse as the unhoused people are.
We tried to help them since June. You have an idea of how to help people that decline help that want to build encampments next to our children's areas? Not our fault if This Time nothing was resolved. This time they weren't "Shuffled Around" This time they were given 51 times offer of help. Screw them then if this happens again in 3 months unless you have a solution. Our geniuses don't have one.
It is. I guess it's the difference between a house and a home type of thing. They may call the streets home but they don't have housing. That's my guess
They choose to be homeless. *WE ALL* choose the life we live. It's a lie to say they have no options, no choices. They have made many many choices in their lives ... just like everyone else.
You haven't been homeless it seems. Try living out here in old age on SS and see how well you do. The homeless need homes that are afford able. The rest is just BS. Landlords and realtors and the nimby crowd are to blame. Homeless people is a huge industry that makes sure the money does not get to the homeless. Do a little homework. The scam is the agencies and managers who steal the money provided by the government. Try a little research.
send those homeless people to activists' home. One wants free housing; one wants to help. Problem solved. Plus, the homeless people refuse to get help. You made your choice. Don't complain.
@@sphixion Mhm. Yes, we know that there are cities that just "Shuffle" them around. However, that most certainly didn't happen here. Our priority is our children. If they decline services, get their asses out.
Jobs everywhere no excuses I don’t give a what!!!! If I have two iobs go to school feed my loved ones can’t get enough sleep then I don’t see a damn excuse.
Really sorry for these folks but if they were offered a place to live then they should have gone there. Eventually, there needs to be some kind of housing imposed on them after 51 previous interventions; they should not have been given a choice this time, but taken to temporary shelter. Were they in NYC I bet Mayor Adams' team would have taken them indoors involuntarily for their own good.
making homelessness legal in sf and at the same time use taxpayers money to relocate them within the city is the level of evil genius I aspire to be one day
uM, homelessness is legal nationally lol. We're not a dictatorship. We can't make being homeless illegal. If you are going to argue a point, know what you're talking about at least.
@@rhp_6926 for shelters, you have to move in and out every single day. like pack up your stuff in a moving box and come back in the evening. you want to spend most of the time waiting in line if you want a for sure spot
They just want to live rent free on public land. The rest of us are busting our asses to pay rent and mortgages. Why should we let these freeloaders destroy our beautiful city park because they don't want to pay rent
Is this a city park? Paid for by tax payers? Are those picnic tables accessable to those tax payers when people are sleeping and hoarding their stuff on those picnic tables? Can I take my tent and camp at a city park?
Yes. Paid by tax payers. I paid $150/day to reserve those picnic areas those homeless people illegally took over. They got to use those picnic areas for over a year... for free!
Dude whines that he hates the government… guess what man, the taxpayer’s are the ones making you move, we just facilitate it through the state of California. I used to care about these people, had heartfelt compassion for them. Now see the rampant drug use, the violence and the thieving from hard working, innocent folks so they can get their next fix. Some in this area have been homeless for 20+ years, that is just laziness. The only folks I really worry about are the people who do work full time jobs and are unhoused, the kids in college living in their cars so they can attend school, these are the people that need to be helped. The rest, they should no longer have any rights, mandatory drug rehab or let them kill themselves. And mandatory mental health facilities for these folks who need it. Compassion is MAKING these people get the help they need. And honestly, think about the tax revenue we are losing because this population does not contribute to a civil society, you would think there would be better ideas in this state to make this happen. There is a whole flipping desert down south with plenty of room to build homes for these people if space is an issue in the urban areas. We’ve just had it and quite frankly, they have done this to themselves in the majority of cases.
If the people were offered services and refused them... what more should the city be expected to do?
Exactly!!!! We already paying taxes for them to get welfare section 8. Food stamps etc like shit I didn’t have all these kids it’s like paying child support…. In other countries they don’t have this problem in the United States everyone wants a damn hand out!!!!!

To be fair I live in the area and they actually stayed to themselves and weren't even loud so I believe the closer neighbors. It just looked nasty

They declined assist offers.
And how much did this cost us about 40 to $50,000? And nothing's been resolved and it's just going to happen again in 3 months.

Is "unhoused" a newly invented word to not offend "homeless" people?
It is. I guess it's the difference between a house and a home type of thing. They may call the streets home but they don't have housing. That's my guess
It's not always sunny in Sunnyvale.
That was dumb
Kind of corny, but I like it. 😎😎😁😁

they aren't unhoused, they are homeless. Bums. Hobos. My spell checker doesn't even recognized the word "unhoused"
Good news
if there is a groups that advocates for them, why don't they adopt them and house them, rather than complaining to the government
let these ppl move into that unhoused response group womans home.
All over America So many homelessness and homeless people.. I thought americans were wealthy why are these people homeless?
Drugs
Drugs and refusing help!
Lazy
Did you not listen? They went there 51 times. And offered them shelter and help. They declined.

If you think Eric Adams is going that. You're crazy. NY is off the hook. Stop watching MSM.

Baby steps. But good on them.
I don't have all the answers, but this is wrong.
They were offered shelter. And declined. Why do you think that is.
Ok put them in your backyard then. Problem solved
List your address and let them stay at your house.
Drugs is why.
