Sad thing is that even in lotro in groups ment to be casual theres too much elitism and minmaxing going on. The game is extremely easy mechanically and you can beat everything with quite simplistic group setups but theres still people gatekeeping.
I totally get you! Keep an eye out for LFG Chats and don’t be scared to post what you are looking to do! Legendary servers are super busy for groups ☺️
Just like deployable said. Just go on LFG and say you want to do (example) orthanc (lv 75 raid)(best looking armor sets in the game) and people will PM you with a X meaning they want to join.
Rift is one of my favorite raids as well! It is a 12 man max raid. Try to get a few of the gems and barter them for some armor pieces. Then you can do a 6 man rift, that is where the fun gets even better. You then have to take all of the mechanics into consideration, and not just burst damage through many of the encounters. You can even do rift in different tiers, normal is tier 1 and max is tier 3. At tier 3 all mobs have 200% health, plus more damage and mitigations!
YES! I’ve been bartering for the armour pieces today actually! Nice to finally feel like I have some resistance and morale on my squishy LM. 6 man Rift sounds terrifying haha! Appreciate you sharing, that’s awesome.
I just started back up. Back when it dropped, I didn't have anyone to play with so I didn't get into it. Playing it now, starting it up a week ago. I realize I missed out. I play with a couple of other friends. LOTRO hits the spot.
I've played a lot of MMOs as a raider over the last 20 years and LOTRO has at times had the absolute BEST raiding. Everquest 2 thought what made raiding fun was the rarity, so you had to sit and wait for spawns at launch and you might be sitting for hours waiting for a rare spawn to show up so you could raid it. The rareness of being a raider isn't what makes raiding fun. WOW thought what makes raiding fun is the sheer number of people involved. So they had 40 people raids at launch and then later had a "raid finder" where you would just show up with a pick up group of random people and it'd be super easy to sit and do nothing and get credit for beating the raid. Lotro raiding has at times been SO HARD to do the best stuff. When RIFT launched as a level 50 raid, it was even harder than it is on legendary servers today (because classes have been reworked a bit and new classes have been added which brings new options). In Lotro you often had to be a well oiled machine with your kinship to REALLY understand what's going on to beat the content. At least the raid leader had to really understand in order to build the right team that could acomplish the goals. It's super rewarding. I feel like a new fan of raiding has been born listening to the way this guy talks. Like he says "I just wanna raid. I just wannna cast my ring of fire! I wanna do my sticky gord! I want to rinse and repeat!" Like yes, that's raiding. It's super fun, but you gotta get a regular group of people who are free to raid at the same time and that's part of the challenge.
The Rift of Nurz Gashu is my all time favorite raid and I spent many happy hours in that place. I wish they had scaled it so that it would continue to be fun even at higher levels, but I honestly can't imagine what Thaurlach would be like at level 150. LOL Besides, I can understand why they possibly didn't scale it. It would probably require such changes in the game mechanics to make it harder and it's such a complex system that it might have been impossibly difficult to do. It was loads of fun though and the armor set was the best in the game at that time.
Honestly it’s chaotic now during level 50 raids so I genuinely can’t comprehend how crazy level 150 content will be! Thank you for sharing those memories, means a lot!
New player here, on Mordor just about to hit lvl 40. Do raids get introduced to you as part of the epic quest line or do I have to find it myself? Thanks for the great content!
Hey Reppin! Thanks for your comment! From what I’ve experienced many instances and raids are unlocked through level ups. Although I’m sure there are others that need unlocking via quests
@@deployablelover exactly, some instances and raid are unlocked via lvl up and some via quest line and/or doing previous instances. Like Dragon wing in Helegrod, you need to have previously did Spider-Drake and Giant wings
I've managed to finish this raid with only a full fellowship like 6 players, no full raid, we got few wipes at first 2 bosses and 2 wipes at last boss, but we cleared full and I got out with 4 barter gems for set equipment, I've done raid before solo at lvl 130 and Was ok, but when I done it now it lvl range on legendary server, everything turned out to be really epic.. can't wait for the future, can't wait to see moria raids, Rohan raids and so on .❤

@@N4TE_94 that’s super kind of you! Really glad to have you! I’m only around a year in myself and most has been super casual but I’ve dedicated a lot more time recently to fully exploring what LOTRO has to offer. I’m kicking myself that I didn’t dive in way sooner!
Looking forward to raiding, rushing to 50 myself, im about 2 weeks in and on lvl 46. Grouping up for dungeons at low level is not the best, Ive only completed a few of them, finding a group is really tough. So I hope on lvl 50 that will change, I see a lot of looking for group lvl 50 in the chat. Im playing as Guardian Tank, lets see how the gatekeeping is on max level.
Do legendary servers have landscape difficulty? I've been playing some on free servers, having a good time but pretty low population. Been considering subbing for legendary servers
Yeah, rift is one of the best. The mid fight is awesome, yes, draging the boss around a big pit of lava. But the endboss ... just magnificent. I'd even consider it a spoiler to tell people what it is. I was genuinely scared the first time I saw that thing. Helegrod has nothing on this badboy. Even the Moria, Mirkwood or Isengrad raids come close. Haven't seen any of the later stuff yet.

currently lvl 34 burglar, i still struggle with setting up instance groups, but once they get going, mmmm, they are fantastic 😌💕

I bet if you turn off names for fellows it'll help you distinguish enemies, bc they'll be the only ones with names :)
