Ahead of Vice President Harris visit to London, a mass convoy of security vehicles arrive 🇺🇸 🇬🇧

- 14 heavily armored Chevrolet Suburbans making up 4 motorcades of US Secret Service vehicles arrive in London ahead of Vice President Kamala Harris' trip to the AI safety summit. She is expected to travel by helicopter between London, Bletchley Park and Stansted, requiring multiple motorcades to be ready at each landing zone.
The armored Chevrolet Suburban limousines, used by both President Biden and Vice President Harris, arrived aboard several C-17 Globemasters of the US Air Force along with several other Suburbans. Two Ford F-550 Hazardous Agent Mitigation Medical Emergency Response Team (HAMMER) vehicles also arrived by plane.
When the Vice President is travelling in the motorcade, there will be several more vehicles not featured in this video. These will consist of vehicles used by the London Metropolitan Police, as well as the White House Communications Agency.

Assuming you mean we should keep a second set of vehicles in the UK so we don't have to ship them over every time, that would likely go against the secret service's security protocols. They bring everything with them to keep the threat surface to a minimum by keeping the number of people with access to a minimum and by the equipment never being out of their procession. If it was stored (even very securely) thousands of miles away for extended periods of time that would be an unnecessary risk in the eyes of the secret service.

Compared to those fanatics in the Secret Service, the state's DS snd defense's PSB are more effective and judicous in utilising the resources and logistics for their protectee's visits.

The US vice president doesn't use the marine corps helicopters (aka Marine Two) outside the US. They are only used to & from the Naval Observatory to AFB.

I'm lost as to why those C-17's are all from states other than Maryland? Some say McGuire, and others say Charleston, while some are from elsewhere! I would have thought that they would all say Andrews since the President and Vice President travels from Andrews Air Force Base right outside of Washington D.C.! Nonetheless, you can always tell when it's a motorcade for anyone other than the President! The motorcade is much shorter for the Vice President and lower! I live in Washington D.C. and I see these motorcades all the time. I also see Air Force One and Two as well as Marine One and Two, all the time. Trust me when I tell ya. You don't wanna be anywhere in the vicinity of the presidential motorcade, especially if you have somewhere to be, lol! Nobody moves but the President, lol!

What @frank-ko6de said! When VPOTUS travels, she tends to travel in the older Suburbans, also used by POTUS. In fact, I don't think I've seen the Suburbans with the extra roof piece out side of DC. You'll also notice here there are some newer shaped Suburbans used for VIP transport.

It's not that she doesn't care. There's a required level of security and as of yet, modern electric vehicles still have yet to make an impact on our climate. On paper they cut emissions. In real life, you need a self-sustaining supply chain network of renewable resources and a NEGATIVE carbon footprint while producing those electric vehicles, to make a tangible change. That unfortunately doesn't exist.
@@Sara-L She has a motorcade which is several times larger than the UK Prime Minister and larger by far than heads of state that visit the UK, there's no logical reason for that much security for a Vice President, it's not like it's Joe Biden coming across - the United States also wouldn't convey the same respect to other countries, if the UK wanted to fly across a motorcade even half this size with their own vehicles the Americans would say no.
@@TheBenj30 not true, especially with UK leaders. they're top allies next to Canada. They're treated very well in the States. Also, the mark on US officials abroad is serious enough they have to have these types of security measures, no other option unfortunately.
@@dozilla77 This isn't true at all - the UK Prime Minister has a relatively small motorcade in the US same with most others and the US certainly would not let the UK fly over Chinooks with army personnel for a state visit by the UK PM never mind the Deputy PM in the UK, yet Kamala Harris is coming over with 2 motorcades and 2 Chinooks just to travel around the UK, completely unnecessary.
