Ive been buying the lexar silvers that meet fuji specs. If you wair till they go on sale you get 2 for like $65 bucks for the 128 gb. Its all i use now.
I have issues with the xh2s and the tamron 17-70 2.8. when theres a bright light entering the frame, it goes absolutely crazy and hunts all over the place
ah yes it does have lots to do with the lenses:) which you could say is therefore a Fuji problem, and I would totally agree, but it’s highly lens dependent. Example: where my sigma 18-35 can be jumpy, it’s very consistent with focusing accurately in many situations and is highly predictable, meanwhile the sirui sniper series of primes are incredibly smooth and predictable and work like you might be expecting high quality video AF. Also I just finished a thorough testing of the Fuji 18-120 which felt the same. Anyway, I actually totally agree with you Fuji should improve but I do want to offer that there are SOME lenses which work much better!
I've never used anything other than SD Lexar 1667x or CF Express AV pro se 1785MB/s. Everything went always okey. Bought them time ago and paid like 1000$ in sd cards + cf express but, although the price, its been my best purchase until now, I preferred to spend more money and have security. I imagine myself having this issue while recording the ring or the rice moment and dont want to at any cost.
Dumb question(s)? When u saw the error? Did you ever think about taking out the battery and turning it on again? (and) When you put in a new SD card regardless of brand/write-speed. Do you format that SD to the cameras 📷 format or you just put a new one in try to use it?
Interesting video. I bought my xh2s about 3 weeks ago, and since then, I have had 3 occasions where my camera just freezes for about 10-20seconds, doesnt record and doesnt stop recording. Im using a sandisk 128gb V90 and recording mainly 4k60 at 200 or 100mbs. Anyone has had similar issues?
@@johnstamw thanks for the info. Also, I was using a sony A7IV and noticed that it didnt have to wait to stop and start recording again. Whereas with my xh2s, i have to wait around 3-5 seconds to start a new recording. Nothing much, but these seconds can make a difference for me. Do you also have this problem? Thanks again!
@johnstamw Thanks brother! I never have to worry about memory card space ever again. I also added some cpu thermal paste between the ssd and the aluminum housing. It does become really hot when reading or writing using my PC but never when in the camera. All in all I wish I had a camera with dual cfexpress now...😅
so true. it's the worst when you know that you should have known better after 10 years of weddings and 5 years of fuji haha. fortunately, at least my experience prepared me enough for this situation and I hope nothing like it ever happens again!
I promise you I'm not trying to sabotage you with bad memory cards, BUT if you don't heed my second warning you will sabotage yourself haha!
john, i used a cheap sd card in my X-pro-1 cuz you told to me to and my camera exploded
Thanks for the psa! Must have been a heart sink moment for sure when that happened. The xs20 footage turned out beautifully non the less thankfully 🎉
yes it certainly was haha! glad I was prepared!
I LOVE my X H2s and the ability to use CFexpress B cards
totally agree with ya

that's a pretty sweet deal!!
I've only ever used UHS-I 256GB cards without issues. Now if they could only fix the autofocus!
if it works it works right! Which lenses are you struggling with autofocus
@@johnstamwall of them 😅 doesnt mind, its not about the lens...

@@martorth sigma 18-35, 18-50, fx 16-55, fx 18-55, tamron 11-20, 17-70... hunts, find focus, loses, finds again, loses again...

Yes that’s a smart investment, definitely a good idea! And please heed my warning haha!
I love story time with John.

Oh ya, in about 20 seconds I did everything short of formatting new cards, but it wouldn’t have mattered (def watch the solution video)

hmmm that doesn't sound normal, if you haven't tried other sd/cf-b cards then I would start there! otherwise, I would reach out to fuji support.
Never had this happen either. I’d contact Fuji about this.

No certainly not 3-5 seconds. Again check different cards (maybe try faster ones even if you can) and contact Fuji if no solution
@@johnstamw thanks! awesome

I'm using a cheap 2TB wd ssd in a cfexpress b enclosure for my h2s and I can't go back to anything else...
Love your bio pic 👌🏼 and that sounds like an interesting idea!

I’d love to hear further explanation of what you are doing to make this work. You mean you have a CFEB dummy card that goes into the camera?
Seems like every Fuji shooter (myself included) learns this the hard way. What are the odds that you hit it right at the processional.
