When President Nelson said, "I plead with you to find joy in the gift of daily repentance, " I honestly wondered what President Nelson needed to repent of each day. I began to study repentance more. Sometimes repentance is saying we're sorry to those we've hurt, or going to the bishop if we've done something bigger than we can repair alone. But most of the time, repentance is simply turning our thoughts and hearts back to Jesus. All day long we get distracted. Even President Nelson gets momentarily distracted. But every time we turn our thoughts back to Christ, we are repenting. It's not just doing something wrong, but momentarily forgetting Jesus. There really is so much joy in continuously turning our minds back to Jesus all day long!
I've also wondered what president Nelson repents of. It occurred to me as I removed the bigger sins from my life it revealed smaller ones. As this process continues, things I was unaware of, now are obvious. The things president Nelson sees are not even visible to me yet.
Love the emphasis on the fact that our continual efforts to follow Jesus and repent will bring us to the door of having our calling and election made sure. The spirit testifies that this is correct doctrine.
A few weeks before I met the missionaries and joined the church, I had a spiritual experience where I was reading a children's bible when I felt someone touch me on the head, full hand impression. I was the only one there at the time. The feeling was so vivid, but I didn't understand it. Then about 20 years later I was reading an Ensign article about this very thing, where people had felt someone touch their head prior to joining the church. The article explained that we had been prepared to receive the gospel. I was so excited about this article because it not only explained what had taken place but it also made me feel like part of a special group. I was excited to learn that I wasn't the only one that had had this unique experience. Forty two years later and it is still so vivid in my mind. Just the first of many more wonderful spiritual experiences that would come. 😊❤️🙏🇦🇺

I loved the thoughts you shared about the ministry of angels, especially the story of Orson Hyde. He is my direct line ancestor and his faith in God and in the Lord's prophet is inspiring. Those angels do help keep us on the covenant path, just as those beckoning from the tree of life in Lehi's vision and the cherubim that guard the way to the tree of life.
I love these insights every week. I'm learning little by little to understand the nature of God and Jesus Christ, He is MY Jesus!! I also love the other podcasts that you do. Thank you for your diligence and sharing your understanding.
So let's say those of us that are struggling with addiction & have been taken off the Book, needing to be baptized again to be placed back on but are REALLY doing & repenting to be able to get rebaptized & something happens that they are taken b4 baptism, does that count for them as well with striving to do what's right & taken from this life...? Just curious. 🙏❤️⚘️
No one runs out of time. No one misses a blessing because they didn’t live long enough to receive it. Notice the words: “who would have received it if they had been permitted to tarry…” D&C 137:7.
@@talkingscripture but Brother, I KNOW what needs to be done & doesn't it say that it would've been better to have not known... name off His book becuz of something else.... tobacco. I'm struggling really hard giving it up this time. I cannot get rebaptized until I quit. When the excomm happened, I felt I lost everything. The adversary knew that & more or less said that I've lost everything so might as well go back to the addiction. It's been 10yrs. Here the past couple yrs I've been reading the scriptures, listening to y'all & others, watching & listening to General Conf... does that still apply to me... 😔😟
